Hotel clean, better than usual breakfast & helpful staff. Hotel is difficult to get to.
"Poor customer service"
I visit a lot of hotels on business and most are pretty on-the-spot with professionalism in service and comfort and convenience in the hotel. This one is the exception. I booked my hotel through an online service and paid everything online. I got there; the young man at the desk swiped my card again. I noticed on my statement that this transaction went […] through and called a few days later to have the manager credit my card. After three days, I did not see a transaction of the sort in my account, I called and spoke to the assistant manager without even introducing myself on the phone (simply explained the problem and requested a status) and she stated, she was sitting near manager when she credited the account. My answer to her was simply, if she sat there while the manager did the transaction, what is my name?" She asked me my name and proceeded to check the status of my transaction on the computer. While I only called to check the status of the transaction, I was shocked at this blatant lack of integrity demonstrated by this employee. she did apologize for her overzealous comment, but I will definitely NOT stay at this hotel again. "Fairfield Inn Marriott Hattiesburg"
Smelly rooms. Smelly elevators. Wooden floor joists which means hollow ceilings above that resonate footsteps from above. I think the person above me was walking a 10k in his room all night.

"Overall not bad"
Stayed 3 night for business. The room I started off with had a fairly large patch of mold on the ceiling in the shower. The room was across from a mechanical closet that had a compressor kicking on and off every 15 minutes or so. After the first night, I asked for a different room and was given a very nice room with no problems at all.
"Outstanding"
Our family stayed the night in this hotel while traveling back home from Florida to Texas. The staff was very good. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast spread was great.
