Seacoast Palms Inn - San Diego

The Motel is under renovation and should be even better when they are done. Sure hope the price doesn't go up too much.

The walls are paper thin. It makes it hard to sleep. They were horrible at keeping the room stocked with towels and TP. No one was ever at the front desk and the pool is at the sister hotel. It is a great location and really close to the beach.

When we first arrived, it was about midnight on a Wednesday. The front desk was closed, and there was a note on it saying that we had to go to the hotel a couple blocks down the street to check in. There were drunk kids all over the streets, and we had our huge luggage bags that we were rolling down the street in the middle of the night...it was very […] unsettling. When we got to the other hotel to check in, the guy behind the desk was completely incompetent. He knew NOTHING. He told us our room number and gave us our keys. We went back to our hotel, but it was completely under construction, and the layout makes it really hard to find your room. ALSO, the room numbers were put up on the doors with painter's tape! Finally we went back to the guy, and he wandered around with us until we found our room, but there were many dark outdoor alleyways that we had to go under with him in the dark, and it made us nervous, esp since he was so clueless. When we got to our hotel room, we were pleasantly surprised. I guess it had just been renovated...the mattresses seemed new, the TV was nice, the bathroom was sparkling clean. HOWEVER, that was the worst night's sleep I've ever gotten. The rooms are not soundproof AT ALL. There was a big group of high school kids sitting RIGHT outside our room on the catwalk, drinking and smoking and yelling until about 3am. It literally sounded like they were in the room with us. It was horrible. And because the front desk was closed, there was nothing we could do about it. Then the next morning at 7:30am, they started at it again. Construction started loudly around 8am. We were very unhappy. We went to the finally open front desk to complain, and the lady at the front desk was very very nice. She said that she had kicked out the high school students, and made them pay extra. She said the hotel was mad because they'd had to refund a lot of people's rooms because of their noisiness, but she didn't offer to refund ours. Oh well...at least they were Læs mere

I don't know what this hotel looked like before they started renovating, but it looks great now! My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in a double queen room and had a great time. They really did a lot of updating to the rooms from what I could tell. The room was a good size for the two of us. The property It is very small and quaint yet pretty. […] Perfect location from the beach and main street with tons of shops and restaurants. We could slightly see the ocean from our window which was nice to wake up to. Although there was still construction going on during our stay, it never woke us up and the staff was super friendly and willing to help. Even the construction workers helped with our new TV in our room! Overall, great place to stay with friends and significant others. I'll definitely be looking back here when I return to San Diego. I got to stay in a newly renovated room and it was fantastic. It was very clean and neatly done. The staff was very friendly and its located less than a block from the beautiful beach. The rest of the hotel was being renovated as well, so there were building materials around the hotel, but it was really no bother. For its location, it was very well […] priced and, like I said, the location was phenomenal. Not only can you walk to the beach, but you can walk a couple blocks to Garnett St. where there are tons of great unique places to eat and drink. And there is a Ralph's within walking distance too. If you are looking for 3 star hotel qualities, this hotel is not for you.. but perfect location for beach access! There are a lot of bars and food around. Friendly and quite..

TV didnt work, The hot water went on and off depending on the Laundry Cycles of the Commercial machines DIRECTLY BELOW our room, and we almost checked out late because the clock in the bedroom was an hour off! On the bright side, we didnt have to sleep in our car and it was close to the beach.

It's not a high end chain hotel but the location is great. There's very limited parking and we had to park at the sister hotel down the street. Not a big deal but know that ahead of time. The room was clean, the AC worked and we were on the beach in 2 minutes! For the price, totally worth it!

Everything from condition to service was the pits. There was even rust on all metal fixtures. Do not book at this hotel

We had reservations for two night and stayed one more. Good price, very nice staff and great location - just a few steps from the beach, shops, restaurants and cafes. Rooms are clean. There is a cute court yard to sit and chat with fellow travelers or just enjoy Your complementary breakfast.

I read some of the reviews prior to staying and I was a little concerned, it seemed like people either really liked it or really hated it....so I decided to see for myself. The cons to this hotel are it is dated, showing its age and needs some work. The room had a slight odor which seemed to fade the longer we were there. In our room it was mostly […] the bathroom that was in need of updating. The restroom door would not close without lifting it up. The linolleum floor looks like it used to be white, it had yellowed and was coming apart and was in need of being replaced. The pros to this hotel for me was the location to the beach, within walking distance which was what I was really looking for at a reasonable price. The room size was quite large with a king size bed, a dresser, a table w/2 chairs and a stand that had a good size refrigerator/freezer that worked great. If you are looking for a resort quality stay this hotel is not for you. This hotel is all about location and basic accomodations...a clean room within walking distance to the beach. I did hear prior to checking out that it had recently (just 2-3 months ago) been purchased by a new owner and was being remodeled room by room. I do intend to check on this hotel again when I go back to San Diego for vacation to check on its status, hoping that alot or all of the work has been done. This is no classy hotel but it is in a great location and the staff was very helpful.

Location is very good.... but too costly compared to the room and amenities.... would not recommend....

Not the nicest hotel but good for the price. It would have been nice to have a spa to enjoy at the hotel. They have a 'sister' hotel that has a pool but still not spa. It was a good location to the beach and bars and that's what I was looking for.

My biggest piece of advice is to know what you are getting yourself into before you stay here. If you go in with the right expectations, then you won't be disappointed. I knew from reading the previous reviews that I shouldn't expect much from this hotel and I didn't and in the end, I was not disappointed. And as far as location, it doesn't get any better than this. Steps away from the beautiful beach in Pacific Beach and a couple blocks away from main strip in PB - Garnet St. The neighborhood was safe and the noise level wasn't too bad. We were there on Memorial Day weekend and there was some talking and doors slamming until about 2AM but again, I expected it to be like that on a party weekend. Exactly what you would expect for the price

The hotel definetely isnt a 5 star, but it is very affordable, its right on the beach and a very small walk to every where you could want to go! Pefect for the beach why would you want a expensive perfect hotel your suppose to be on the beach or eating out and shopping!

Good hotel next to the beach, everyone is very nice and customer friendly! Rooms are 3 star, bring your own blow dryer and cooler though. Soaps as well, they do provide a very small sample bar and sample shampoo. Clean, spacious with cable and heat/air! my 2nd stay there this year! Like it!

room door was open when we arrived at the room having just gotten the key. dirty towels. stained sheets. challenging to find a functioning power outlet to charge a phone in. smelled like mold in the room. no fan or window in the bathroom=sauna. hard bed. need i say more? but if you're just sleeping there it's the cheapest you'll find at the beach (for […] a reason though!). Vi bodde här i två nätter under vår 3 veckor långa bilsemester. Detta var det klart sämsta stället vi bodde på. Hotellrummet stank av mögel vilket gjorde det svårt att sova. UNVIK DETTA HOTELL!!

L'hôtel n'est pas de sa première jeunesse. Une bonne rénovation lui ferait pas de mal! Mais il est tellement bien placé qu'on n'y reste vraiment pas beaucoup de temps! 2min à pied de la plage et 4min des bars et boite de pacific beach. C'est exactement ce qu'il nous fallait! Il est relativement facile de garer sa voiture et c'est même gratuit. Je recommanderai […] cet hôtel surtout à des jeunes qui veulent venir faire la fête à pacific beach. Ok hotell med flott beliggenhet i nærhet av stranden. Vi savnet hårføner og wi-fi, ellers var oppholdet fint. Beliggenheten på hotellet er flott med gangavstand til stranden. Stor, men begrenset parkering.
