Ambassadors Hotel - London

Vi valgte dette hotel udelukkende pga prisen. Vi havde meget lave forventninger, men er sikker på vi ville have oplevet samme standard ved et tilsvarende 3 stjerners hotel - som ville have kostet dobbelt så meget. Hotellets placering var upåklageligt - det ligger ca. 5 minutters gang fra Glouchester station. Det er en flot tur at gå fra centrum, forbi […] Buckingham Palace/Green Park, Harrods, Victoria and Albert Museum og National History Museum. Udover check ind/ud havde vi ingen kontakt med personalet, men der var rent og pænt. Værelset lugtede ikke fantastisk, men kunne klares med en omgang udluftning. Læs mere

Vi fik et tilbud på hotels.com. Hotellet var derfor billigt, men af høj kvalitet i forhold til hvad man ellers kan opleve i London :)

Hotellets lobby var rigtig flot, men standarden faldt en smule på værelset og andre opholdsarealer. Værelset var ret lille, men rent og pænt, og badeværelset var udemærket og inkl. badekar. "Dobbeltsengen" viste sig at være to senge, der var skubbet sammen, og renden i midten var kun dækket af et lagen. Det var ikke ideelt, og madrasserne var heller […] ikke særligt bekvemme. Værelset levede fuldt op til forventningerne. Hotellet er beliggende i rolige omgivelser, tæt på undergrundsstation. Rengøring af værelset var i top.

Meget små værelser og nok det mindste badeværelse jeg nogensinde har set - døren gik direkte ind mod og rammer toilettet - og bagved døren et minimalistisk brusebad.Hotellet er pt under renovering, hvorfor der ikke er nogen restaurant, der serverer morgenmad.Beliggenheden er ok med kort afstand til både bus og undergrund.Internetadgang for 1GBP pr time […] og opbevaring af baggage for max 5GBP Læs mere

Dejligt behagelgt og roligt sted, tæt på undergrundsstation med direkte forbindelse til Heathrow Airport og til seværdigheder i London gode værelser med ny indretning, Restaurant under ombygning under ophold, men vil tro at det vil blive ligeså godt som resten.

Hotel currently renovating its restaurant so lot's of noise during the day from ongoing building work. On yop of that there is a lot of noise from the hallway as the doors are paperthin. Not to be recommended.

Min mor og jeg boede på dette hotel under en tre dages shoppetur i London. Dette horel ligger mellem 2 metrostationer hvilket gør det nemt at komme fra hotellet til alle de seværdigheder man ønsker at besøge i London. Desuden kan man tage lufthavnsbussen (6A) fra Stansted som holder på en gade ikke langt fra hotellet. Efter 3. forsøg opgav vi at få det som vi havde bestilt og betalt for og måtte affinde os med et værelse i kælderen. Værelserne er urimelig små nærmest kamre. Man måtte gå sidlæns rundt langs med sengene for at komme frem.. Garderobeskabet var halvt så bredt som en bøjle så alt tøj fyldte ud over skabet. TV virkede kun 3 ud af 5 dage - resten af tiden […] var der kun flimmer på skærmen og kun ved at optræde meget bestemt overfor personalet blev der to gange rettet op på problemet. Morgenmaden til 10 £ pr person droppede vi da vi så den. Var ikke særlig delikat at se på. Vi købte i stedet vor morgenmad i supermarked 200 meter fra hotellet. Læs mere

Not any kind of help from the reception

Jeg fandt det urimeligt, at jeg skulle købe en spisebillet FØR man satte sig ind for at indtage morgenmad på hotellet. Det ristede toast var flere dage gammelt, og kaffen fra termokanden var lunken. Receptionspersonalet ville ikke hjælpe med at finde adressen på nærmeste afd. af en kendt tøjbutikskæde. På udrejsedagen kunne hotellet ikke opbevare […] vore kufferter en ekstra time efter kl. 11, hvor vi skulle være ude af værelse. Denne usædvanlige mangel på service gav os et stort problem på afrejsedagen. Derfor kommer vi ikke tilbage til Ambassador, hvor vi ellers har opholdt os de sidste 4 år. Fremragende beliggenhed - dejligt kvarter i nærheden af museer og parker - og man kan godt gå ind til centrum. Et godt hotel til prisen - og med venlig betjening. Morgenmad ikke særligt varieret - vil anbefale at fravælge dette som en del af tilbuddet.

pænt hotel i roligt pænt kvarter - tæt på Hyde Park og på undergrund samt bus ind til indre by. Små værelser men indeholder hvad man skal bruge på storbyferie.

Vi overnattede 3 nætter på hotellet og til den pris vi gav kan man nok ikke ønske sig meget mere. fin beliggenhed, på både centrum og til nærmeste undergrund. det eneste minus var at man ikke kunne åbne vinduet mere end 2 cm så man ´kunne få luftet lidt ud. ellers syntes vi at det var et rint hotel til de penge man nu giver. morgenmads udvalget er dog […] ikke noget at råbe hurra for. kan ikke anbefales Læs mere

The hotel is in a very convenient location to travel to all parts of london. The rooms have been refurbished and they looked tidy and clean. But the rooms we had are in the basement and are very small with low headroom and small showers and toilets. On the whole, we think they are worth of the money we spent.

The first room offered - in the basement - was small and claustrophobic. However, when i raised concerns it was changed without problem to a first floor room which was still small but more pleasant. Staff are friendly and the lebanese options on food would have appealed but sadly had no chance of trying them

We found the rooms way to small. I booked a superior room but it was very average.

i stayed in a twin room for two nights in the ambassador hotel, the location was good as its close to the earls court tube station and there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and internet cafes in the area also. the room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay, the only downside was our tv stations were not working, we were out and […] about much of the time though so this was not essential. The hotel has undergone refurbishment & our room did look like the ones in the photos!! Although the room was small & compact, it had everything in you would need for a comfortable long weekend stay in London and was immaculately clean & tidy. We had a great rate for a 2 night stay in the Kensington & Chelsea borough, we couldn't complain. The tube […] & bus stops are only a couple of mins away & taxis always available. Very centrally located. No frills hotel but very clean. Noisy if room to the front of the Hotel. Very reasonable price. Would recommend to all.

Location: wallable distance from Earls court in a decent locality. Room: very small and squeezed room, and with London temperature of 10-12 C, room was very warm. Opening the windows and sleeping wasn't easy either due to Road/ vehicles/ sirens. Rooms could do with a bit of facelift.

This hotel, located on Collingham Rd and cross street Cromwell Rd, is in a central area in the South Kensington district of London. Finding this hotel is rather easy for first time visitors and the neighborhood is on the safe side, in my opinion. Taxi drivers will be able to bring you to this destination but rather than giving the name of the hotel […] it'd be best to tell them the street and cross street names. The hotel itself is rather small with somewhat dingy hallways. My group of travelers were put in our deluxe triple room for three in the basement floor of the hotel. Upon inspecting our room we found that amenities were somewhat lacking if one were to compare them to U.S. standards and by this I mean there was no microwave, mini fridge, iron, ice machine, razors, face towels, or free wi-fi. Also, the hotel apparently did not have enough universal adapters because we were never able to get our hands on one, but they did claim that someone else was currently using the one that they did have. I felt the custodial staff did a fine job cleaning our room and re-stocking towels and toiletries but we did have a rodent problem at night. One of us had left a bag of nuts in our unzipped suitcase and during each night we stayed there was scuffling and scratching noises at the foot of the beds. Holes would appear in our bags of food the next morning. We did tell the hotel staff about our little friend but they merely apologized and didn't seem to do much else about the situation. Public transportation is highly accessible. I preferred taking the underground, myself, and there are two reasonably close stations -- Gloucester Rd Station and South Kensington Station. The latter station is located close to the Victoria & Albert Museum, which is a must see. Check-in time is 2PM and they did not allow us to check-in when we had arrived 45 minutes early. We asked if they could watch our bags while we went across the street to Starbucks but there was a fee so we abandoned the idea Læs mere

The electric doors into the hotel doesn`t work and you have to manually pull up the doors. Looks like it have been like this for a long time and it doesn`t look like they`re going to fix it. Rooms are very small. Ok they are not cheap so you can not expect large rooms. The air in the hotel is VERY dry. The toilet stoped working 1 day, they told us that […] they couldn`t do anything with this before next day... They called a taxi for us 1 day and a private taxi ( with no taxi sign ect) showed up and wanted to charge us double price. So the hotel have hired this guy to drive around they`re guest to double price, guess they split the income 50/50. We will never stay at this hotel again. Læs mere

The hotel has recently been refurbished and both the communal areas and the bedroom was clean. The bedroom was newly refurbished and comfortable and the shower room was clean and modern. However beware that some bedrooms are in the basement with no windows. It is about 10 minutes walk to the nearest underground train station and shops and restaurants […] including a supermarket and burger restaurant. An ideal hotel and location to visit London on a budget, especially if you have children. We had a triple room, which although was rather small, was clean, tidy and well presented. It is a 10 minute walk to the Nat History Mus, V&A and 5 minute walk to Gloucester Road Tube station with frequent trains into Central London. Clean hotel, helpful staff, […] one complaint was that breakfast had no discount for children? As ours would only want toast and cereal we walked down the road and found a cheaper per adult deal and for children. Hotel lost out on that money if only they had a childs price? very dissapointing for a 3 stars hotel....looked like a hostel. Beds were not confortable at all and the shower head was broken as well as the sink. The only advantange of this hotel is the location.

Me and my hubby stayed at Ambassadors hotel and we loved it! I've been to London numerous times and this was deffinately the best hotel i've stayed in. So, I'll recommend this hotel to everyone

Close to tubes convenient only.. At this time no restaurant or breakfast facilities which is not made clear..major building works n noise n upset ... Not on my places to visit again for a while

Room was no bigger than a shoe box, heating was on full blast with no way of turning it down or off! Complete waste of money!! Will never recommend.

When I arrived in Earl's Court I was supprised at how close the hotel was to the tube station yet just a nice distance from the middle of Kensington. On the down side the restaurant and bar were under renovation but it didn't bother me. Just four stops from the middle of London was very convient. Great location, within few minutes walk of both Earls Court and Gloucester tube stations. Really good rates in comparison to other London Hotels of the same standard. Rooms small (to be expected in central London), we stayed in one of the basement rooms. Room and bathroom was clean and looked newly renovated. Not much room for storage but adequate for […] a couple of nights stay. Bar/restaurant was closed for renovation whilst we were there however Sainsburys just along the street and many restaurant and bars in the area, which seemed to be extremely safe. Renovation work was taking place in all the public areas, elevators were out of order although it didnt affect us, may have been nice to be advised prior to turning up. The hotel is well situated just off a main road and close to public transport. We booked through hotels and the procedure was OK, staff on reception efficient and sorted taxis out. Now to the issues, we had two medium suitcases and the route to our room was down narrow corridors not very easy to navigate. The shower curtain once wrapped around stuck to you the space was that small at 5'10" the shower head poked me in the eye so had to duck to get under it, water finished up all over the floor getting out was dangerous. The TV channels selection was 4 very fuzzy pictures very poor for a modern hotel. The sink was so small that you could not fill the kettle for a drink had to use glasses to transfer the water. The heating was off in the rooms and a small electric heater was provided. THankfully we were only staying one night and were only using the room to change and sleep otherwise we would have relocated. I stayed in a single room for five nights. Overall I found it to be satisfactory. The room and bathroom were very clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. I did have breakfast. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, but the shower didnt drain away properly which was quite unpleasant. The room was very small but adequate for an overnight stay and was very convenient for our visit to the Royal Albert Hall. The staff were all very pleasant and I would recommend this hotel for a single nights stay.

On entering hotel we became aware that major building work was being undertaken and that no restaurant or bar services were available, however as our stay was for one night only and there were plenty of restaurants and bars in the hotels locality, finding somewhere to dine was not going to be a problem. We had booked a double room and were a little […] disconcerted on checking in to be told by the very friendly reception staff that our room was in the basement of the hotel! We need not have worried, as on gaining entry to our room we found it to be very clean and bright and tastefully furnished, if a little on the small side. The bathroom amenities were all spotlessly clean and complimentary toiletries were available. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was situated 5 mins walking distance from a tube station, affording easy access for all London's amenities and all mainline train stations. Hotel was under renovation. Should be nice when finished. Customer service was polite... but we arrived at 1.30pm and check in was not until 2pm, we given the option to leave our bags for 5pounds or wait until 2pm. For the sake of half and hour a bit silly but I understand... ?

Friendly staff upon checking in. Room was clean and pleasant . Close location to Gloucester Road underground.

rooms were really compact too small for a twin but made up for this with location which was short walk from nice area full of good bars & cafes and short trip into city
