The Andrew Jackson is a quaint French Quarter structure. Because of its age, the shortcomings of the air conditioning were not too much of a surprise. The number one disadvantage of the structure for us was the lack of an elevator and being on the second floor. Our entire visit was dampened by the challenge of climbing the stairs with the various infirmities […] of age. The attendant was quite rude, as if we were bothering them during check in. Parking was 5 blocks away.

This place was all about location for me. Beautiful street, one block from Bourbon, surrounded by restaurants and shopping. Remember the age of the building...so it was quite old and a bit weary. The worst part was our bathroom - it was clean but soooo tiny. We're talking small! We also had no temperature control in our room and it was freezing! Also […] - a 'double' meant a double bed. Not 2 double beds...possible I missed that on the reservation but was quite a surprise for my brother and I! Overall - I would stay again - it was only for a night. If it was a longer stay and I was planning to be in the room a lot - it probably wouldn't be my first choice. The hotel receptionist was great and made wonderful restaurant recommendations. Læs mere

I asked for an early check-in as we were arriving via cruise ship early the morning of check-in date. While I understand that this is not guaranteed, the guy at the desk told us they had sold out the night before and so they had to clean rooms. I later found that he assigned us a room directly across the hall from the from desk when we dropped out luggage. […] Which means he knew which room needed to be cleaned right away. Since I was not trying to rent the entire hotel, I simply did not understand why we had to walk the city for 6 hours waiting for our room. When we returned at 2:30, yes 30 minutes prior to check in the room was still not ready. So I was a little disappointed that it took 7 hours to clean one room. And as we checked out the maid cleaned the room behind us in less than 5 minutes. I watched her. I thought the level of customer service was low and consideration for a traveler was just not there at all. That is their business. I would not recommend it. I have stayed in old hotels, historic inns before, but this has to be the worse. This is a 2 star hotel. No parking at hotel, and was not listed as such. It stated there was but no hair dryers - so bring your own

andrew jackson staff were extremely helpful and wonderful during our mardi gras stay!

I had a great stay at the Andrew Jackson Hotel. After booking through this site, I looked it up on tripadvisor and regretted booking it right away. There are so many horrible reviews on there! But honestly, I don't know what the people on there are talking about. The location is great, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable […] and clean. Yes, they are small and outdated but that is normal in the French Quarter. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Læs mere

The Andrew Jackson is conviently located in the French Quarter and close to most sights. There is the charm of the Old B & B style home, but the rooms need major renovation and redecorating. The Andrew Jackson Hotel was quite lovely. We checked in around 11pm with no problems, dropped our luggage off and parked in their sister hotels free lot. It is a small lot and difficult to maneuver, but I thought it was well worth not having to pay. Our room was small which wasn't a problem, but had a nice sized bathroom. The water pressure wasn't […] so great, but it wasn't too big of a deal. The bed was hard, as most hotel beds are. If people were in the court yard right outside of our room, you could hear every word. Only two blocks from Decatur, though and very centrally located. Læs mere

This is a very convenient location if you plan to spend time in the french quarter. Parking is available a couple blocks down at another hotel. It's cramped and not guaranteed, but free. The staff was friendly. The room is small, but clean. There was a nice courtyard in hotel, also.

The Andrew Jackson is a very convenienlty lñocated hotel, set in an old schoolhouse, and so quite historic. The rooms surround a lovely courtyard which is very atmospheric. The rooms themselves - at least the one we stayed in were ok, if a bit small. It wasn´t exactly luxurious, but then we wern´t paying luxury prices. It was clean, as was the bathroom. […] There was air conditioning, but we had no control over it, however it did the job just fine. The continentawl breakfast was also ok, just cereal and tea or coffee, and there were donuts one of the days. Its worth mentioning that the hotel is haunted, if you believe that sort of thing. The guys on the front desk will tell you their experiences, and the stories associated with the place. There are also numerous stories on the internet, some of which are accurate. We didn´t see or hear anything unusual, but just being told the stories was enough to make sleeping peacefully a bit more difficult! If you´d rather not know, then don´t ask, and don´t read about it in the internet. All in all though, the hotel was in an excellent location in the heart of the French quarter, and really great value. Læs mere

I enjoyed my stay at the Andrew Jackson. the room was spartan but I do not need a great number of amenities. It would be nice if they included hair dryers in the rooms (like the stationary ones in most modern hotels), though they do have them available for use from the front desk. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The courtyard was lovely […] and very peaceful for when I wanted to relax outside for a bit without dealing with the crowds. The location is great for just about everything in the French Quarter and the front desk can help set up any tours that you wish. If you don't need luxurious setting, the Andrew Jackson is a very nice, convenient hotel. Læs mere

We enjoyed our stay the only problem I had was the room had to much light coming in the room windows and door at night. Our room was in the court yard and it was very nice.
