Hotels.com did not include the parking fee of $ 12.00 plus tax in the confirmation for the room. Very disappointing, I was on a specific budget. The hotel was described as being on the beach, it was on the water but there was no beach. Other guests at the hotel also were of the impression that there was a beach. This was the 4th time we had stayed here and by far the worst. When we checked in we found that our 2 rooms booked and requested as adjoining were not even in the same block, let alone the same floor. As the 2nd room was for a disabled 77 year old it was important we were close together. The desk told us they were sold out (Spring break), so when we […] saw the duty manager the best they could do was for us to take the rooms allocated and they would move us the following day. We had no option to accept this and we moved the next day to rooms on the same floor although 15 apart at opposite ends of the hall. All we got for this whole inconvenience were 2 free drinks vouchers for the bar. I expected a better service for rooms booked 5 months in advance. PS we checked in at 5pm, not late by any means. Clean, comfortable and close to restaurants and bars. Beach is a little walk away. Not on beach. It's about a block or so away. Very crowded beach area and area. Traffic is terrible!! If wanting to walk to places to eat then it's fine.

Affordable, best location, nice environment,

I completely enjoyed every aspect of my stay, but I was surprised when, at check, I was asked to pay a parking fee for hotel parking. But the location was perfect, the room excellent, and the view to die for.

Nice hotel on the water (get a Gulf View room if possible) on site dinning was fantastic and reasonably priced. Had dinner and breakfast sitting only feet away from the water, complete with dolphins and aquatic birds. I live in Florida year round but still enjoyed my stay here very much. The room was clean, well kept and comfortable. On site game room […] as well as work out room and pool complete with outside bar. No coffee in lobby in the A.M. but there is an on-site coffee shop just outside the lobby. Nice area around the hotel for evening walks, and some live music at several locations within easy walking distance. I will return to this hotel if in the area again, and have already recommended it to several people. All Gulf view rooms have a small balcony so you can sit outside and watch the sun set, very nice. Went to Clearwater Beach for Thanksgiving. Would stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel again. Had a nice room, great view of the ocean and city at a reasonable rate.

All good except: specifically thought we were getting King beds, that is what we requested, were put in doubles, said it was first come first serve. Room with my elderly father was over the bar, noise was terrible throughout the night, discounted our rate by 30.00

I travel quite a lot and I am always in agreement with the review, execpt this time. The trims of the corridor were freshly repainted, and there was a bad odor of oil based paint at my floor level. I asked to have another bedroom, but they said that they were full. There was quite a lot of drunk people in the pool area, and the security was unable to […] regulate them. Being with my children, we decided to go for a walk rather than expose them to such bad scenario. Finally, on the last day, we arrived at the opening for the pool, and were told that the pool needs maintenance and will not open before the afternoon... Læs mere

Great hotel and infrastructure. Everything was good to very good. It is also located near the beach (5 minutes walking) with its white sand and endlessly long shore. All activities and restaurants are nearby. Great pool with bar and super drinks.

the Gulf front room was mostly the roof (we were on the second floor), the air conditioner was very loud. The restaurant (Jimmy's something) was excellent. Patio wasn't clean, still had cigarette butts in the ashtray, and I don't smoke, yuk.

First night there was a party in the hallways. Teenagers running wild and no security in sight. Had to call front desk at 3am. Asked to move and we got a quieter room. However, the security in the hotel or hotel policy seems to turn blind eye to teen parties until customers complain.

Overall a nice hotel, with a well equipped exercise room (only missing bikes). Pool area is nice and plenty of beach chairs. Entry to the beach is not very nice, must to climb/walk over some rocks.

We truly in enjoyed our stay at this hotel and my room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I have neck and back injuries and it's very hard for me to stay any where other than home. I had some back pain but not as bad as I thought I would and everyone was very nice and helpful. Thanks' Ms. Mathis

Excellent facility with very friendly and courteous staff. When we called for more towels they were promptly delivered and afterwards someone called to insure they'd arrived. Though this is a beachfront hotel, there is no beach access from the hotel & we had to talk a short 2 minute walk to access the beach. We were definitely not pleased with the daily […] parking charge nor the fact that the lot fills up because they sell spaces during the day for general parking. We also stayed in one of the streetview rooms and the noise at night was somewhat disruptive. If we were to stay again it would have to be in an ocean view room. Læs mere

Without a doubt one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have stayed at. (and I have stayed at a lot !) Let me clear up the whole “by the beach, not by the beach” confusion. The hotel is located on a point of the island that the water comes up to. You cannot actually walk on the beach right at the hotel, because of the rocks that are used to control erosion. […] But this a great place to sit at the pool or restaurant “on the ocean”. The beach is a VERY short walk away. (maybe a block). I would without a doubt go back to this hotel. Nice staff, coffee shop, nice restaurant/bar. Læs mere

our problem w/our stay was the air conditioner unit sounded like a jet engine starting up all night long. neither of us slept well because of it. we only stayed 1 night so at check out i asked if this was how all of the rooms were. she said it sounds like the unit needs to be changed. we stayed in a gulf view balcony room w/king bed. the view was beautiful, […] the room was great and the bed was very comfortable. But the air conditioner was definately a problem, i'd have to believe them to try try it again. jimmy's fish market was a fair resturant. ambiance was fine, food very fair and service pretty slow. but the view beautiful. In spite of the poor nights sleep we had a great time. be sure to try the Kai Lani catamaran sunset sail, we loved it, and Beach Combers resturant, wonderful!! Læs mere

What a nice hotel! I was surprised at what a great place with really nice rooms. This hotel could stand up to the best!! We had both a suite and a single room and were very pleased by each. Loved the suite, for the additional spend-you can't beat it!

I am not a negative person, normally. Dont be mis led like I was...The pictures kinda insinuatede a beach on property. NOT! Its a 5 munute walk to a crowed PUBLIC BAD CHAIR BEACH! Don't be fooled. Its NOT fun to walk with alll your stuff. Could have stayed across the street from beach at travelodge for 1/2 the price! Old carpeting, and amenities. TV […] good Balconey soso Nice Staff who tried hard. It was overpriced for what was wanted. I got a measly $150 consession from hotels . com It was almost funny considering the misleading pictures. The appointments of the hotel were average in nature. The buffet was minimal. The staff were courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel was its greatest benefit.

booked for four people, but everyday we had to get more towels, toiletries etc. even after mentioning it to the desk and houskeeping staff. four people in the room was a bit cramped. the service was otherwise great, getting us a fridge, extra patio chairs. the quality hotel on the beach was better

Spent a week here this time (4th time we've stayed here), and it was great as usual. It's a good location, although it is on the water, it is not on a beach as some hotels are. We'll be staying here again!

Very disappointed in common areas of hotel...pool and deck area needed a thorough cleaning and updating. Lounges were torn and filthy and "pool" towels were the threadbare and size of dishclothes. Tiki bar did not look like pictures on website. Would not reccommend this hotel!

Hotel was clean and in a good location,there was a parking charge that for people staying for more than a few days should be free. The beach was a short walk away and the hotel pool was clean. The staff were nice and I could not fault the food in Jimmy,s bar All in all a nice clean hotel for the money

Enjoyed our overnight stay...great view of gulf water and listened tohotel's live music at the beach from our room; Great location for viewing boats, walking, visiting local shops, restaurants.

We had a great stay. The room was very clean. The resturant downstairs was great. We ordered room service the food was hot. We would definatly stay again.

Would have preferred to have buffet style breakfast available

If you have a vehicle it will cost you $12 a night EXTRA over the rate your paying for the room ! The hotel sells parking for beach patrons so you could come back to a full lot leaving you riding around looking till someone leaves ! The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are clean ! Staff was good and the on premises restaurant was good ! Would stay […] there again except for the hidden parking charge for those with a vehicle! Læs mere

We were very surprised by the size and cleanliness of the room. Everything looked new, and the rates were very reasonable for a suite on the beach. We are already considering another trip to clearwater and we would stay here again without a doubt.

My family was quite impressed with our stay at the Holiday Inn at Clearwater Beach. We had plenty of dining options around the hotel that was within walking distance. Though the hotel itself is not situated on the beach, it is only a 4-5 minute walk to reach it. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and were quite eager to please. the Staff is wonderful the Room is excellent the Service is exactly what you would expect from a higher class hotel. the resturant attached to the hotel where kids eat free the food is outstanding ! the portions are large ! the night time entertainment is awesome!

Nice hotel but they charge an additional fee for parking.

I can recommend this hotel without reservations. We stayed in November so it wasn't crazy busy and we enjoyed the TLC that went with a slower month. We ate in the bar/restaurant and it was great. Our room was quiet and we will certainly go back!

We had a great stay. It is ocean front but there is no beach in front the hotel. We walked to the beach which is a short distance away.

Last minute hotel booking and the room and view were great. Staff was great as well.

Great hotel. Location was good. very accommodating. Would go back in a second. Highly recommended.
