ME Madrid - Madrid

Virkelig god beliggenhed. Dejlig morgensmadsbuffet. Men de elektriske installationer var elendige. Det elektroniske nøglekort virkede ofte ikke, hverken i elevatoren eller til hotelværelset. Jeg fik udleveret et ekstra kort, men det hjalp ikke rigtigt. På værelset drillede det lidt for smarte styrepanel til belysningen. Den sidste nat måtte jeg sove […] med lyset tændt, da det simpelthen ikke kunne slukkes. Værelsesindretningen var lidt "overdesignet". Men bestemt et godt hotel, som jeg gerne benytter igen. Godt Hotel - høfligt personale med gode engelskkundskaber. God restaurant med en fin morgenmadsbuffet og aftensmaden var også klasser over det vi fik i de omkringliggende restauranter. Det var også lidt dyrere men priserne var bestemt ikke ublu. Der var to ting, der trækker væsentligt ned i den samlede bedømmelse af hotellet. Værelset, vi fik, var overraskende […] småt (om end i en meget god stand). Værelset vendte også ind mod en baggård, og havde kun et vindue, så det var lidt mørkt. Vi kunne godt få et værelse med udsigt mod pladsen eller gaden - men det var mod en betragtelig merpris. Hotellet reklamerer også med en penthouseterasse med cocktailbar. På hotellets hjemmeside er der fine billeder af loungemøbler ude på terassen. Møblerne var der dog ikke i virkeligheden, og når man har sat næsen op efter at sidde på tagterassen og se hinanden dybt i øjnene, så er det altså en skuffelse, at man bliver nødt til at stå. For os (ældre ægtepar) var beliggenheden helt ideel. Vi kunne gå til alle de seværdigheder vi ønskede, - og området hvor hotellet ligger er præget af folkeliv næsten hele døgnet. Hotelpersonalet var meget venlig og yderst hjælpsom. Hotellets kvalitet var helt i top. Vi boede på 5. etage med altan ud mod pladsen Santa Ana. (Level Room) Morgenmaden var […] også helt perfekt. Supert hotel og meget centralt placering. Gå afstand til stort set alt. Vi havde bestilt et Deluxe-værelse - meget lækkert og supert badeværelse, men hvis det havde været meget mindre ville der ikke havde været plads til sengen. Var lidt kede af at der ikke var adgang til "soltaget" i dagtimerne - da dette var forbeholdt natklubben.

Hotellet ligger perfekt i Madrid. Vi havde booket THE LEVEL og var meget forbavset over størrelsen på rummet. Meget lille. Vi havde dog den skønneste udsigt fra balkonen og ikke mindst var alt på værelset, trods størrelsen. Hotellet ligger centralt med alle vigtige seværdigheder indenfor let gåafstand. Hotellet er rent og pænt og personalet service minded, men værelserne var mindre end forventet til prisen.

Central location in a neighborhood full of dining possibilities. Easy walking, in opposite directions, to the Prado and the Palacio Real. Facilities were fine, including free computer access. Walk to everything - including the metro! Hotel staff couldn't have been more accomodating. Highly recommend.

Very well located to all usual sights, but Madrid is easily walkable. The Hotel itself, very efficient but a little pricey. The square has a lot going on. Convenient to many eating places. This hotel was excellent in terms of price, location , quality of accomodation, and friendliness of staff. It was within walking distance of all the major attractions, and countless restaurants and bars. I could not recommend it highly enough. Make sure you check out the rooftop bar with the panaromic views of Madrid.

Having read reviews on numerous hotels in Madrid I eventually settled on the ME as the location seemed to be central which is of most importance to us. I was a little concerned as a number of reviews described the rooms as uncomfortably small and the service to be pretentious. We managed to make our way to the hotel from the airport with great ease […] just using the bus and by foot which I think speaks volumes for how centrally the hotel is located. We were greated with such warm, professional helpfulness and when we arrived at our room were pleasantly suprised. The rooms are small(ish) but I would by no means describe it as uncomfortable, there was plenty of room to walk around, the bathroom was stunning, the bed was incredibly comfortable and enormous. We spoke to reception on numerous occasions and each and every time we were treated as valued customers and felt that enough couldn't be done to help us. A lovely little surprise on our first day awaited us after we stepped out to investigate the beautiful square that the ME is sat on and to get something to eat, we then wondered back to the hotel room feeling thoroughly exhausted from a long days travelling, only to be met by our bed having been turned down, with little chocolates on it and a candle flickering away! What a lovely touch. On our final evening we went to see what the roof top bar was like and were blown away by the views and the thought that had gone into making it comfortable and special, the bar lady was charming also. The location is perfect, you can walk just about anywhere with great ease. The square comes alive at night with music, children playing and adults socialising and enjoying a drink. I couldn't recommend the ME enough and thank them very much for making my stay in Madrid so memorable. I genuinely hope to return one day. Læs mere

Loved the location, on a plaza, but not busy and near all the major sites and metro. Opted for the bigger room and loved it. Comfortable bed, quiet room, nice views onto the plaza. Thoughtful staff.

When checking we were offered a room upgrade for 25 euro / night and decided to do it. It was well worth it. The "level" room was not large, but very comfortable, and quiet, with a balcony and a great view over the plaza and surrounding rooftops. The free wireless service was great ... fast and reliable. We LOVED this hotel. Modern, a bit funky, and fabulous. The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful. Their directions, meal suggestions and visit ideas were always right on. We loved looking out on the plaza (except on Halloween night, when it was quite noisy until rather late), and the room was very comfortable, with good storage space and […] are for 2 large suitcases. You can walk to almost every major sight, tapas bar or restaurant within 15 minutes, and the train station is also walkable if you don't have large luggage. There is also a rooftop bar, which has great views, but is rather expensive. We simply wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Madrid! Læs mere

Stayed for 4 nights at this modern hotel in the heart of Madrid. Enjoyed going out on Plaza Santa Ana, just outside the hotel, for a drink/snack. The room was small, but still smart furnished. Bathroom was modern and had good space. We also had a very satisfying dinner at the hotel's Restaurant. Very good atmosphere. My wife and I recently stayed at the ME Madrid for part of our vacation in Madrid. The hotel was really good overall, I would recommend it. It is located in the Santa Ana Plaza area. Request a superior or delux room.

Lovely hotel in the most fun area of Madrid. The staff were helpful, charming and spoke perfect English when necessary. Superior breakfast buffet.

Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Great location, close to everything. Some faint noise in the evening from the bar, however not enough to hinder a good nights sleep. Looking forward to a return trip!

The hotel was outstanding in all respects. The room was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the shower was amazing. The breakfast buffet was great and all members of the hotel staff went out of their way to care for us. hotel is ideally located with great access to the metro, important streets, shops etc... wifi is a plus.. staff are very friendly and informative.. taxi stand right outside the hotel..

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I spend a lot of time researching the best places to stay on my travels and after much consideration I chose the ME Madrid and wasn' t disappointed. The location is amazing, right on Plaza Santa Ana-full of great restaurants and has a lovely atmosphere. You are less ten minutes walk to Plaza sol and mayor and indeed […] most attractions. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating. We travelled with our 17 month old son. At check in we were warmly welcomed and the travel cot was ready in the room. The reception staff couldnt have done enough for us, i'm only sorry I cant remember all their names!...They stored luggage, recommended places to eat/visit with our son, on the last day we had a late check out and they would not charge us !!Great for tired parenst with a late flight and a demanding toddler! The bar in the hotel is lovely-prices are higher that else where but that is expected of such a calibre hotel. the staff in the bar welcomed us and our son every night, heated his bottles, played with him and made us feel totally relaxed. The roof top bar has a great view -a must do visit. They allow children until 10.15 if you stay in the hotel. I have travelled all over the world and have stayed in some of the best hotels....the ME Madrid is right up there with them. Created from an old bank building, the ME Madrid Reina Victoria id located abutting not one, but TWO of the liveliest plazas in Madrid. Stunning building, newly refurbished with modern decor with great attention to detail. Room was well laid out, Aveda toiletries, excellent shower. We had a Level Room with a balcony looking over the square - couldn't fault the room for quality, although square footage was tight. Great location,wonderful room which was well furnished. The bed was very comfortable with exquisite bedding. Bathroom was very well appointed with great multi jet shower. Best way hotel to compare this to is a W. The service was amazing and the room was amazing. Very trendy bar and a great rooftop club / lounge if you are looking for a drink... or to socialize.

Worth the upgrade to a larger room facing Pl. Santa Ana. Location provides easy access to all points in Madrid plus a great selection of cafes on the Plaza open from morning to late at night.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. It is very clean, friendly , comfortable and smart. The room is well equipped and well organised, although a little small. For a short stay the room size is not a problem. The location is excellent and central and the hotel is surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The price is a little high, but the quality high […] too. Nice and glamorous lobby, nice room design, though the rooms are quite small and slightly worn-out since last renovation.

The room was small, not super comfortable reallty. The service was OK, nothing too special (they don't have any Dont disturb cards, so service woke us up every morning). But the location was excellent.

we stayed here for only one night and it was in the perfect location, I was able to get there by metro (but it takes MUCH longer than a taxi, so i'd recommend a taxi). We walked everywhere, didn't need to use a bus or metro at all to see any of the sights from the hotel. walkable to the train station, and the palace, plus there are great plazas and […] sights to see en route to the palace. We got a great deal for the star rating of the hotel, but the room was so small. just enough space for a king size bed and desk, but there is no way you could use the desk because the bed backed up right to it. we didn't care because we were only in the room to sleep, but for the size of the room, the rate wasn't that great of a deal anymore. beautiful hotel though and excellent location. a bit cold in the lobby area. Located right in the centre of the tourist area so ideal for bars, restaurants and cultural sights. Hotel is very modern in decor with a calming atmosphere. Very clean, excellent staff and rooms have good facilities. Superb beds and excellent power shower. The only thing missing is coffee making facilities in the room, a very minor issue! We have stayed at this hotel before, and decided to upgrade to "The Level." Only difference was fifth floor versus a lower floor -- room size was the same, quite small. Location is very good in principle, but there are better deals in good locations. Next time we will stay elsewhere.

We had a delightful room on the corner of the building overlooking the square.In essence the windows were double glazed so that one could appreciate the atmosphere of the square or cut the sound out completely.The room itself was large and suffused with light because of the virtual floor to ceiling windows.However,despite temperatures in the low 30's […] the room did not heat up.The hotel is superbly located and within easy walking distance of the major attractions.The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English.We highly recommmend this hotel.
