Hotel Bolivar havde ikke noget værelse til os da vi ankom, og sendte os istedet ud i den modsatte ende af Rom, på hotel "Principessa Tea Hotel" (hvilket ikke var den lokation vi havde betalt for). Aftalen blev istedet, at de kørte os derud, og vi blev kørt tilbage dagen efter hvor vi så kunne bo på hotel Bolivar de resterende dage vi havde booket. Den […] ansatte i receptionen på hotel Bolivar sagde til os, at alle andre hoteller i Rom var booket, og derfor kunne vi kun få et værelse hos "Principessa Tea Hotel" (hvilket sjovt nok er i samme kæde som Bolivar). Da vi så endeligt får vores værelse på anden-dagen, viser det sig at være simpelthen så ringe, så vi overvejede at lade booking være booking, og finde et andet hotel: Gulvtæppet var plettet, og møgbeskidt. Der var et tæppe der gik halvvejs op af væggen, som var plettet og møgbeskidt. Interiøret var fra 1960'erne, og så ud som om det aldrig har været vedligeholdt. Der lugtede fælt ude på toilettet. Vinduet kunne ikke lukkes tæt (ret kritisk, da dette var i februar måned, og vi frøs helt vildt). Jeg vil absolut ikke anbefale dette hotel til nogen som helst. Læs mere

Hotellet ligger lige i hjertet af Rom Down town som de kalder det, man kan gå til alt undtagen Vatikanet der skal man tage undergrundens banen som også ligger tæt på. De tager pænt imod en på hotellet, de er smilende og meget hjælpsomme. Der er ikke noget gratis internet men det er dog til rimlig priser. vi var 2 personer i et værelse der var meget […] lille, der var en lille gang , et fint badeværelse med en lille badekabine, rummet bestod af en halvandenmands seng og et meget lille skab der på ingen måde kunne rumme særlig meget tøj da der ingen hylder eller skuffer var og der var 5 bøjler. ellers var der et skrivebord og en stol, og et fint lille tv med mange tvkanaler. Morgenmads buffeten havde et fint lille udvalg af ting, et lille hyggeligt område men en fin udsigt. Det er lidt dyrt i forhold til hvad vi fik ud af det i forhold til værelset, men vi vil klart tage derhen igen for det lå så super fedt. Læs mere

Udmærket hotel som ligger centralt for seværdighederne i Rom. Men det ligger midt mellem store færdselsårer, og det betyder, at man ikke lige kan gå om hjørnet og finde en restaurant eller cafe. Beliggenheden i stille sidegade betyder, at der er ret roligt om natten. Værelserne er udmærkede og frem for alt rene. Glimrende badeværelse. Hotel Bolivar er et ganske glimrende hotel, der ligger så centralt i Rom, som du overhovedet kan komme. Du kan gå til Colosseum, Forum Romanum, Piazza Venezia eller en af de andre seværdigheder i Rom, og alligevel kan man trække sig tilbage i en lille hyggelig sidegade, hvor man slipper for støj fra byen. Hotellet var dejligt, og servicen var langt […] over den frygtede italienske standard. Især var morgenmaden en positiv overraskelse. For danske maver er en italiensk morgenmad normalt meget utilstrækkelig (som regel bestående af en espresso og en sød croissant), men på Bolivar var der en glimrende og velassorteret morgenmadsbuffet. Værelserne var ikke store, men de var rummeligt indrettet, så det føltes på ingen måde trangt. Sengene var behagelige, der var fin plads på badeværelse, og rengøring, tv og anden service var upåklagelig. Helt uhørt godt for et hotel i Bolivars relativt beskedne prisleje. Det var anden gang, vi valgte at bo på Hotel Bolivar, fordi det ligger super godt i forhold til Roms mange seværdigheder. Alt kan nås i gåafstand. Standarden er rimelig, men ikke til 4 stjerner. 3 ville være i orden - der er, hvad der skal være, men det er ikke noget luksushotel. Prisen er i overkanten og burde efter vores mening justeres efter 3 stjerner. […] Jeg udelukker dog ikke, at vi vælger Hotel Bolivar også næste gang, vi kommer til Rom pga. af den fine beliggenhed. Ligger dejligt centralt trukket lidt tilbage fra større gader. Hotellet har en hyggelig morgenmads stue på toppen af bygningen med udsigt ud over byens tage. Vi boede på et familie rum med en opredning til 2 børn (6 og 9 år) og det virkede rigtig fint.

During our five night stay, we were happy with this hotel because the staff was, overall, quite friendly and helpful and the location is unbeatable. The breakfast buffet was very good and is served on a rooftop location with nice views. We would recommend that you insist on a room above the ground floor. As noted in other reviews of this hotel, some […] rooms on the ground floor are simply in an unacceptable condition. To their credit, the staff was responsive to our complaints when we were placed in one. The hotel would be well served to convert these rooms into an expanded public space, since the lobby is of limited dimensions and it is difficult to imagine an American guest finding such a room acceptable for the price. That said, this is, overall, a great hotel that offers many of Rome's most attractive destinations within walking distance. A lovely restaurant is situated across the courtyard from the hotel, and another that features very acceptable pasta dishes and pizza for reasonable prices is only five steps further away. Best of the best, great hotel, wonderful staff and the perfect location for seeing Rome in all it's glory. Room and view was excellent, comfortable. Great breakfast would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the eternal city, definitely would stay there again

Everything was wonderful. The room was spacious the breakfast was more than substancial, cleanliness was great all in all I would stay there over and over again except for the front desk day (clerk) he had sticky fingers. He was not to be trusted....

Super little hotel, great staff and very friendly! Excellent location for getting to all the main attractions in the city. Nice and quite to sleep in and the breakfast was enough to keep us going for the day. Would absolutley recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Rome! :-)

Fantastic location for a sightseeing visit to Rome, with a decent spread at breakfast. Unfortunately the hotel was very dated and noisy. The staff were friendly and helpful, however the bar never seemed to be open. On check-out we felt the lack of drink pricing clarity had left us with a 20euro bill for two drinks at the bar. The hotel is rated as 4star […] by expedia, however I would say that 2-3 is more accurate. Despite the hotel sign saying 3star outside, the rome city tax is priced as 3euro pppn not the 2euro it should be for 3 star hotels. Having said that, we did enjoy our stay in rome greatly, and the location of the hotel was perfect. The old style of the hotel was not to our taste (as a young couple). Læs mere

This hotel was an absolute disgrace!! We had booked it over the internet (a big mistake) thinking that we were booking a quality four star hotel and instead got a totally substandard dirty hovel of a hotel. We picked up the key and were directed to the first floor next to a room with a yapping dog!! We immediately realised that this hotel was going […] to be poor. We went downstairs to complain and were then directed to another room on the same cramped floor just a few doors away. We could still hear the yapping dog, the door to the room didnt fit properly, the room was no more than the size of a shoebox, dark, dank and extremely dirty. We were so disappointed. There was no tea or coffee making facilities no fridge. The bathrooms was small and smelt of bad drains, there were a few unappealing soaps on the small old sink unit. No separate shower just a shower head that didnt work properly. Tepid water. The rooms was below standard and reminiscent of dirty budget hostel. The whole hotel felt run down and in disrepair. Totally disappointing, would not recommend this hotel at all. If you are thinking of booking this dont!! Not worth the money a complete rip-off. We paid way too much and dirty beyond belief. Air conditioner in our room was being worked on when we arrived. We were offered a free drink while we waited a few minutes. We were offered a smaller room or a room at another hotel or we could wait till later to see if it was fixed in the original room. When we returned, the air conditioner had been fixed. I had read mixed reviews about his hotel before booking it. Upon arrival I thought that I had made a mistake in booking it as there was an electrical problem when we arrived which meant we couldnt check in. The staff however were very friendly and explained that if they couldnt resolve the problem then they would accomodate in a sister hotel however […] the problem was resolved. Our room was plesant enough but not to a 4* standard but the friendliness of the staff made up for this. The location of the Hotel is good and there are enough bars and resteaurants in the area. Nice, quaint little hotel, on a cul-de-sac, so don't have all the traffic noise of main streets. Great location, close to many main sites, easy access to and from. Rooms and esp. bathroom a bit small, but manageable. Would stay there again (although not necessarily cheap these days given the dollar to the euro.).

We loved our stay at Hotel Bolivar. The location is excellent, being a block off a major street meant easy access to sites without the noise of the busy street. It is tucked away in a little cul-de-sac with a fantastic little restaurant across the street. A small hotel tucked away within easy walking to Trevi fountain and most other sites. If you are lucky to have a room on top floor they have small patios attached that make the room very appealing.

Teh Hotel Bolivar is located very centrally in Rome. It is on a very quiet street - really a dead end. teh rooms are very small, even by European standards. But, it was fairly clean, though it could use some updating. The staff at the front desk was helpful in recommending local restaurants.

Having looked at lots of photos of this hotel I was anticipating a room that would be of a good standard. The room we were given was ok ... functionable at best. We soon realised that all the rooms on the first floor were not of the same standard as the rooms on the other floors and that are room was probably just a standard room and the others superior. […] When we were booking we were not given a choice. The actual location of the hotel is fabulous; near to all the main sites and it is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The breakfast room on the roof terrace is lovely and there is plenty of choice and enough to enjoy a good breakfast. We booked the hotel with two other sets of friends so we could be in the same hotel. The hotel had some issues with power on one of the floors so they could not accommodate all of us. One of the couples were given the grossest room I've ever seen (think seedy no-tell-motel complete with stains) while two of the other rooms were re-booked into another […] hotel over a mile away. The hotel we were re-booked to was still under renovation and did not have a working elevator which might not have been bad if we were not on the 5th floor. The point of booking was to be in the neighborhood together to make meeting up for meals and tours easier. Overall, it wasn't a great experience and was very inconvenient. There was no attempt to contact us early in the day so we could make other arrangements or to move our entire group. The hotel was well situated and appointed, but difficult to initially find as it is located on a sidestreet. But it's location within a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and near the bus lines make it an ideal location to explore Rome. It is only a short stroll from the Trevi fountain. The concierge services were exceptional. Requests were responded […] to within minutes. The staff were extemely helpful in providing directions and assisting in arranging airport transportation. Their suggestions saved my party time and money during our trip. They were also very willing to store our luggage after check out until we were ready to depart for the airport. The buffet breakfast provided by the hotel offered a wide variety of beverages and an extensive selection ot breakfast items. All of the offerings were attractively presented and tasty. The buffet location, on the top floor of the hotel, provided an attractive and relaxing location to enjoy breakfast and start the day.. The only thing lacking was washcloths. Hotel Bolivar was a very comfortable and relaxing hotel in the heart of Rome. It was a bit difficult to locate at first as we walked from the subway station, but being tucked away in its off the street location is what made the hotel very relaxing as there was no street noise at all. All of the must see things in Rome were within walking distance. Just […] around the corner was a nice Irish Pub that had many different draft beers and was also very relaxing (Corks Inn & Pub). The room was comfortable, with good air conditioning. Bathroom had a tub and shower, but was a little tight, otherwise all was good. Breakfast was on the top floor and had a good view. Although a little confusing to find at first, the hotel was really well situated - between ancient Roman sights Trevi fountain. It was quaint and small with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel would have been difficult to find without booking the airport shuttle, which is considerably cheaper than any other method of reaching the hotel. the hotel was clean and beautifully decorated with marble and gold everywhere Our bedroom was beautiful and on the ground floor because of my bad knee. The bathroom was more than adequate though […] the plumbing left a bit to be desired. The location was superb for access to the colloseum and the Trevi Fountain and the open topped tour busses pick up just around the corner. The tour busses run every day from 9 till 9 and take a different route on sundays So if you buy a 48hour ticket and include sunday you will get the best value. Overall a great trip but not reccomended for anyone with duff knees of feet. You finish up crippled. Læs mere

Great hotel, location, rooms. Exceeded expectations. If coming by taxi have a printout of location as some cabs have trouble finding the place (despite it being only 100 yards off a busy street). Location good as walk to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colliseum, etc...

The person at the front desk was great helping us to find a few of the important sights to see in Rome before our departure the next day as well as helping us find a good place for dinner.
