Det var en flot udsigt til Table Mountain og fra terrassen en flot udsigt over byen. Personalet var meget serviceminded og gik meget stille omkring, man kunne kun føle sig godt tilpas der. Chefen og personalet var utrolig hjælpsomme på alle måder.

"Portswood GoodLocation needs major refurbishment"
EXCELLENT SERVICE CLOSE TO THE WATERFRONT CLEANLINESS GOOD VERY OLD FURNISHINGS.BED OLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE CHAIRS DEFINITELY LATE SIXTIES EARLY SEVENTIES AND QUITE CREAKY HOTEL IN EXCELLENT LOCATION BUT IN EMERGENCY NEED FOR TOTAL REFURBISHMENT

After struggling to find a late deal over the new year period eventualy got 2 rooms at the Portswood for a week, price was on par for time of year. Only 2 min walk to water front yet quiet enough at night. Staff very helpfull and friendly, hotel clean and tidy. Would stay here again no problem. Only bad thing was they messed up my taxi booking on morning […] of departure so was late for flight and all rush rush. O and there was a mad irish man anouying everybody at hotel bar and lobby and it took then 4 days to throw him out. But overall the hotel was good. Læs mere

Excellent Hotel. Lovely room. A pity about breakfast The first morning I asked for toast and was brought 1 piece. As there were 2 of us we were a bit surprised. The waiter did not appear again so we had to go and find some bread ourselves. Also one of the tea cups had a crack near the rim which was pretty obvious. Comfortable, friendly, splendid breakfast.
What a pleasure. The staff were gracious and so helpful, the breakfast was delicious with so much choice and all cooked fresh. The location to the waterfront couldn't have been better and I would love to return there again.

the hotel is in a great location and the service is excellent. I was a little disappointed with the room and the bathroom in particular with its shower in a bath with the result that the shower is Ok and the bath virtually non-functional. The room is also next to a busy road and was noisy out of season.

If the front desk staff were not friendly and responsive, I would have checked out the first day because of the room conditions. The rooms are clean but need to be renovated for the price you are paying. The plugs did not work; bathroom water pressure was low; bedding and fabrics were worn; and English breakfast was subpar. We had a fabulous stay at the Portswood V&A Waterfront. The hotel's location is perfect and the staff are amazing. We have never stayed in a hotel with such friendly, helpful and lovely staff. We will be staying at the Portswood again the next time we visit Cape Town!

"Fantastic location and staff but aging rooms"
We arrived at 10 PM to the hotel and congratulated ourselves for choosing the V & A waterfront the next morning when 50,000 cyclists took over the downtown area for a bike tour. The hotel is attractive and convenient; staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms are small but we were satisfied after moving to a room with a double bed.

"Portswood V&A - Almost, but not quite..."
Overall we were happy with our stay here, but you did get the idea this hotel is trying to be a luxury option in the V&A but not quite succeeding. The staff were very friendly, but they were somewhat disorganized... Even the rooms were adequately equiped and clean, but they did lack that special touch to make you feel that your money has Paid for an […] upperclass venue. I do get the feeling this hotel charges more for the "location" than for the level of service and amenities, so, If you are looking for those things, look elsewhere, but if you fancy a comfortable stay withing walking distance to the Waterfront, the go ahead.. Oh, and lastly, they were stuggling with their water supply during the stay... At first we did not have any in the room, but after reportign this it was remedied quickly, but I did see some guests check out because of water trouble in their rooms. Læs mere

Staff extremely friendly in the whole hotel, nice room with ok view of the pool (they don't have any with view of the waterfront) but there seemed to be a problem with the air con because water was dripping out of it. Location is perfect, 2 min. walk to the waterfront, area very safe at night. I extended a business trip and booked into the hotel, based largely on previous reviews. The location is ideal, across the road from the Waterfront and the city hop-on/hop-off tour buses. Decent pool at the hotel as well and service and staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was functional and clean, but you don't come to Cape Town to sit […] in your room so it was all that was required. Overall a great base for all amenities and sightseeing. The bar and restaurant seemed good, but being so close to Waterfront means most people prefer to spend their nights out and about, as I did. Breakfast was lovely though. The area is as safe as you'll get in South Africa, and you can safely wander around the Waterfront after dark these days - something you can't really do in other parts of town. "Great location and service"
I only chose this hotel because it was impossible to get a car hire over this Christmas period so picked a hotel location where I could walk to the V&A instead of taking taxis etc. What a surprise I had at the service and the prices, really excellent. Also it has some interesting history of its location which is posted in the entrance and the restaurant. Free […] Wifi made it even nicer. The doorman was superbly friendly and helpful. The bath was a little old and tired and I hate shower curtains, but I guess you can't have it all. All in all a little gem and I'll certainly be back! Læs mere

Wonderful location, just steps from the Waterfront. The travel desk was incredibly helpful in setting us up with tours and providing advice. We were so pleased with our experience at the Portswood!

Hotellet ligger perfekt til i forhold til Waterfront. Vi hadde fått anbefalt et annet hotell, men er glad nå for at det var fullt, da Portswoods beliggenhet er bedre. Svært hyggelig og imøtekommende personale. Meget bra frokost. Egg i alle variasjoner kan bestilles til frokostbuffeten uten ekstra kostnad. Fin vestibyle og greie rom, selv om vårt var […] i minste laget. Gratis internett som fungerte meget bra hele tiden. Et bra hotel med meget god beliggenhet, bare noen få minutter fra "The Waterfront". God service, efektive insjekking og jevnt bra frokost. Eneste minus var at det var mye støy i forbindelse med rengjøring av andrerom tidlig om morgenen. Kan annbefales. "Portswood hotelli Kapkaupungissa"
Hieno sijainti Waterfrontissa, satamassa. Lähistöllä paljon ravintoloita ja palveluita. Ydinkeskustaan parin kilometrin kävelymatka, myös bussilla pääsee helposti. Kiertoajelulle kannattaa mennä ja samalla saa kuljetuksen mm. pöytävuorelle ja Kirstenboschin puutarhaan.
