Best Western Hotel Madison - Milano

Lille, hyggeligt og velholdt hotel ca. 8 minutters gang fra hovedbanegården. God morgenmadsbuffet inkluderet i prisen. To metro stationer tæt på hotellet, hvorfor Milanos hovedattraktioner er nemme at komme til. Restauranten TerraFerma, som ligger 5 minutters gang fra hotellet, kan anbefales. God service og god italiensk mad.

Hotellet lå under fem min gang fra banegården (kender man ikke Milano, var medsendte kort dårligt). Dejligt værelse, dog ikke særlig god udsigt, men det skulle vi heller ikke bruge ;o) Personalet var meget servicemindede.

My wife and I were backpacking around Italy and Milan was our last stop before we left. We arrived by train at Centrale F.S. With the map from Hotels.com we looked for the hotel. The hotel is very conveniently close to the train station. That was a big plus for us as on the day we would leave for our flight the airport shuttle leaves from the train […] station as well. Checking in was quick as the hotel was pretty quiet. However the reception did not offer to call a porter to carry our bags up to our room. I thought that at least at 4 four hotels they'd ask if you need help with the bags. The room (double, breakfast incl.) was spacious and clean and we loved that the halls outside the room and our room was warm. The hotel was nicely heated against the cold weather outside. We had a pretty hard time so far during our trip because of the severe cold that has grasped the country in 30 years. One thing we didn't like about our room was the TV and the shower. First, the TV, the one and only English channel was CNN. Come on, don't they get international customers who might want to watch something else in English other than CNN? Second, the shower partition door or curtains closed in such as way against the floor that once you used it the bathroom would become flooded. There is no way to fix that but to accept that it was built that way for whatever reasons. Specifically, the curtains did not match with the tub it went over to where the bathroom floor tiles were which made it inevitable for the water to spill out. Breakfast is on the 4th floor the only place to eat in the hotel. After coming from a hostel in Venice, breakfast here was a ton better. Fresh breads, fresh fruits, fresh juices, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs. A simple continental breakfast. Although we stayed only for a day, the location is great being close to the train station and around it you can find restaurants as well. Læs mere

perfect spot . short walk to train station and quick metro to duomo. clean renovated room. staff helpful with metro info.

Location near the station was reason we chose this hotel. Pleasant reception staff when we arrived but night manager abrupt and unhelpful. Room clean, bed comfortable but the breakfast was very disappointing for a four star hotel.

The hotel Madison Is a short block and one half walk if you exit the station on the side marked Piazza xxiv Novembre. Veer to the right, navigate through the parked cars and motorcycles toward the tobacco store. Keep walking and you'll see the big blue glass front building in front of you. Cross the street look up on your right and you will see the […] street sign Via Gasparotto. Turn left on via Gasparotto, there is the hotel Madison straight ahead of you about 1 block. (there is a very large sign! ) The hotel was extremely clean. The closet space was ample, bring hangers if you want more than a few. We had A nice sized room with good air conditioning and the staff very helpful, multilingual and nice. Lots of inexpensive places to eat within one block. The breakfast room (on the 4th floor) was well stocked everyday with scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, smoked sausage hunks, fresh fruit, pastries, bread, cereal, milk, yogurt, ham and cheese slices, and coffee, tea and juice. We chose this hotel because of it's convenient location- an easy 5 minute walk from the Central Station-a hub for mainline trains and local buses, trams and the metro. Room was large enough and very comfortable. Unfortunately the only TV channel in English was CNN news- but the internet connection was excellent. The staff were very helpful at all times, […] were more than happy to help with queries about travel anywhere in Italy. Breakfast (included) every morning was a bonus. The Hotel Madison is a basic hotel that lies just a block away from the central station. Having stayed at Best Western hotels in Germany, Norway and Sweden, I had expected slightly higher standard than what it turned out to be, but all-in-all it was a good experience. When I arrived, it turned out that they hadn't cleaned the room, but getting another room was hassle free. The neighborhood is not very nice, as it is close to the station and at night it is even bordering to be slightly dangerous. If you visit Milan for tourism, pick a better location (Duomo?). This hotel wasn't bad at all, but not great either. We only booked it because we were just staying the night and leaving for Cinque Terre in the morning. So the location is great if you need something close to the train station. The surrounding neighborhood seemed kinda sketchy at night though. By sketchy, I just mean that it's really dark and a few […] shady characters wandering about near the station. Wifi was only free for one device, which was stupid. I argued with the lady at the front desk about it and she repeated that it's only for one device. I asked her if she shared a cell phone with her boyfriend/husband or if each of them had a phone. My logic didn't seem to have any effect, however. The room itself was just blah. Nothing special. I think we had two double beds pushed together, even though I don't remember seeing that when we were booking. this hotel was clean and the service people pleasant it was near many things and I believe in a good neighborhood the single rooms were just a little to small but had everything thank you

Highly recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location walking distance (2-3 minutes) to Centrale Station and the subway. Fantastic breakfast also.

Overall very happy with everything - hotel, location, breakfast, staff. Only a few minutes away from Centrale Station and the subway.

Poor Service and poor air conditioning

Hotel was booked in a rush on the internet, only because it was close to the train station. It was! First room (the "Classic") was horrible, and construction was banging hammers right next door! After room change, they put us in what must have been an upgraded or recently renovated room which was much better. Area of hotel was not where you'd want to […] be, but money savings more than made up for the taxi fares to get to downtown - where everything was. So, if on a budget or need to be near the trains, not terrible. The hotel is in a perfect location, two blocks from the central train station and walking distance to shopping and the cathedral. The staff was friendly and the room was great. I would stay there again.

I would like to give the staff of this hotel an A PLUS. My luggage got into my room by magic. Ewa K at the reception desk was the most accomodating receptionist I EVER MET, BREAKFAST WAS ABOVE OUR EXEPECTATIONS. Even the evening staff was more then willing to help me with everything that i needed. Excellent hotel. Very friendly, english speaking. Clean and tidy. Good location plently of food spots close by. Train and metro station only 2 minutes walk.

Stayed 1 night, excellent service, pre booked taxi, however a "cash cab" which we discovered in time, to stop at a machine. Suitable walking distance from Cntrl stn, and easy to use sub way to go to city center. Thx 4 helping us find Navigli area, which was nice to visit.

The hotel was very close and convenient to the Milan train station. The staff was very helpful and quick to offer suggestions on how to ride the metro to the center of the city from the train station. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was not small even by American standards. The breakfast was more than adequate and the pastries were fresh. The […] coffee was Nescafe, but that was the only weak point. The surrounding neighborhood from between the train station and the hotel is not great, but we didn't feel uncomfortable there. Lots of lighting and plenty of people. We stayed for one night, close to the central station, clean and convenient room, breakfast is ok (3stars), free Internet only has a 200MB download limit. I would stay again compared to the other hotels with the same price range in Milan.

I stayed in Madison during the Furniture Fair, so it is really expensive. The quality of the hotel certainly doesn't worth that much. But it's clean and kind of efficient, located in a quiet small street. Breakfast is OK, but again, it's not a $500+ hotel quality. Not much around, but it's close to Central Station.

Good location near to main railway station. I had previous experience of thei hotel (approx. 15 stays) in last 5 years. To return in the same hotel is the best recommendation.

Milan is Expensive. This hotel is very nice for the price that we paid. Good location, easy to get to and from the train station. Hotel has easy access to the Metro which works very well in Milan. My wife and I drove to the hotel. Parking was near by and we parked our car for the two days were were there. Hotel is very clean, the staff is very helpful. The free breakfast buffet was very good. When we needed a taxi, it was there in less than 5 minutes. The fare during rush hour to city center was around 15 Euros and coming back in the evening, […] it was only 9 Euros. Would definitely go to this hotel again! It was a very-very short walk through the mini Piazza Novembre from the Milano Centrale train station. Staff was very friendly and pleasant and the room was clean! The breakfast had hardboiled eggs, ham, cheese, plenty of breads and pastries, as well as canned and fresh fruits. You can have tea, coffee from a […] pushbutton machine or request a fresh cappuccino, etc. Food was tasty and breakfast room was kept in immaculate condition. The room was a single, so that meant the room was only about 1.7x as big as the bed was (don't expect an American sized room)! :) There was free wireless with a code from the front desk, and a little desk with small flat screen tv. Plenty of plugs for computer and phone charger, as well. Bathroom had a real shower in it with great water pressure, and there were nice soaps and shampoos provided, as well. Street was quiet, and I felt safe walking from the station to the hotel. The hotel was very easy to find, as well! Would recommend for a quick trip to Milan - it's not in the middle of the "action" but it's a fair price for a nice room, good and filling breakfast, and nice staff. :) Læs mere

We had no idea what to expect because I had read mixed reviews but we very pleasantly suprised. The Hotel was an easy walk from the Train Station..neighborhood so so but right next to a beautiful church. The staff was wonderful, breakfast was great. The rooms were spacious and clean although very outdated decor. There were not a lot of restaurants nearby […] but 15 minute walk to Corso Buenos Aires for lots of shopping etc. Would definately stay there again. One more time, staff was GREAT! Læs mere

The hotel was very reasonable, near to the station and had a nice little bar. The breakfast was also very typical for a European hotel. Good value and would go back there.

The Madison turned out to be a very comfortable and convenient hotel and a very good value. The room was a good size by European standards, the bathroom fully tiled and of good size, a refrigerator in the room for a mini-bar, good breakfast, convenient to the metro, informed staff who provided a good map and information about the metro and local shopping. […] It was an excellent choice. Upon entering the second floor you are confronted by the chocolate colored carpet which also had a large water stain on it right outside room 225. The standard rooms on floor two are decorated in pink which is not a relaxing color. Apart from CNN there are no English channels on TV. The 4 star rating is misleading as their is no real 4 star comforts […] in the rooms itself - no coffee machine, no iron or trouser press. The shower has no light fitting due to poor design. Value for money hotel. Good standard of cleanliness for room. Decent bathroom. Easy access to Centre of Milan by Metro and overland trains to Lake Como, Venice etc.

It's certainly not a 4-star hotel, not even 3-star. Location is good though and people are friendly. The room is small and old, very out of date.

Short walk to and from the Milan Centrale Train Station and Airport Shuttle/Bus station. The room was clean, modern, comfortable and quite pleasant. the staff were friendly and helpful.

Wir fanden das Hotel prima... Wenn man mit dem Zug am Milano Centrale ankommt, ist man zu Fuss in 3-4 min. beim Hotel!! Am Hotel gibt es nichts zu bemängeln - tip top!
