Jeg var meget forbløffet over at blive installeret på et værelse uden vindue!!!!! Efterfølgende kan jeg se, at der på min voucher står indvendigt, men jeg havde ikke i min vildeste fantasi forestillet mig, at man kan blive puttet ind i et værelee uden vindue. Jeg har boet der før, og da var der vindue. Der var ingen problemer med at blive opgraderet […] mod et tillæg på 20 dollars pr. dag. Jeg synes men bør gøre mere tydeligt opmærksom på, at man kan få et værelse som ikke har vindue ud til dagslys. Ellers fint hotel meg et meget venligt personale. Læs mere

The room was nice and clean but no window to the outside world. Other than that, it was a very nice place.

The 4th floor of this hotel is open to the outside with very nice courtyards. At first we thought that this was a very cool feature to the hotel, that is until the hotel guests that spent the night out on Bourbon Street found their way to them at 2 in the morning. They were loud and obnoxious and my wife and I didn't get much sleep the 2 nights we were […] there. My sister and her husband had a room on the 2nd floor and no problems. So if you are going for a family outing and want to rest at night stay away from the 4th floor, but if your looking to hang out with a bunch of drunk idiots at 2 am then by all means. I will stay at the hotel again because it is nice and in a good location but I will not stay on the 4th floor. Læs mere

What a disappointment! After booking months in advance with a request for a quiet room, we were given a room across from an elevator, next to an ice machine, across from a fire department, and on a busy street. Running the New Orleans Marathon after two hours of sleep was not easy! The staff members that we encountered were not only unhelpful, they […] were downright sarcastic and unkind. The Hotel is right in the French Quarter and easy to reach most sites within the French Quarter. Hotel parking is small but available at a cost. The Hotel was clean and the rooms were larger than some oter hotels in the area. Generally a good place to stay if you want to be near the action. The only thing that I did not lke is the soft beds. We loved this hotel and it's history!! Just what we were looking for in our first trip to New Orleans. We won't stay any other place than this. Each morning after enjoying muffins and yogurt we walked to the Mississippi River and planned our day. Each one more fun than the last. Hotel Staff was great! Room was clean and location couldn't be better.

The staff at the Bienville House was so friendly and helpful. We were always greeted at the door with a warm welcome and reminder to enjoy New Orleans on the way out. They were truly interested in our experiences of their city and took care of our requests for a taxi, restaurant recommendation or directions. Hotel is superb, but street noise is real problem. Furnishings, in lobby and rooms, are absolutely beautiful and high class. Service at the desk and throughout is impeccable. The feel or ambience is definitely New Orleans at its best!! One major problem: My wife and I spent Christmas at the hotel, and were kept up all night by the "bump, bump" and other […] loud noises from the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this historic hotel in the French Quarter! It is beautifully restored and appointed. The location was perfect for walking all over the area as well as taking the streetcar to the Garden District. Guest services staff were always helpful and gracious. We shall return!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves to stay in the quarter without being right on Bournon. Easy walking distance to everything! Love this place!

My fiance and I recently stayed the weekend at the hotel. The location was great, right in the middle of the french quarter and just a few steps away from the house of blues and riverwalk. We pulled in the garage and were immediately greeted by a valet and a bellman to help us with our luggage. He escorted us inside to the front desk where we were greeted […] with a warm smile, like they were truly happy for us to be there. We checked in and headed up to our room. When we got to our room, everything was clean and nostalgic, from the sparkly bathroom to the chandelier over the bed. The bed was very comfortable. We were beyond pleased with our stay here! This historic hotel is conveniently located in the French Quarter....great for those who want to roam with little rest periods in between!! The only issue we had was that the room windows don't open - so when the heat was on (due to a HVAC issue)....there was no way to get relief!! Beds are soft, so if that is an issue for you....keep that in mind. […] The rooms are all individualized and are relatively spacious for an old hotel..... We will be back. Læs mere

What a lovely hotel. We had just finished our cruise and arrived at hotel at 9:00 AM fully expecting to just check our bags. Surprisingly, our room was ready and Beverly let us go right to our room. The room itself was charming with a 4 poster bed which was quite comfortable. Walking distance to French Market, Bourbon St. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a Saint Game. Just a short cab ride to dome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious.

PROS: The hotel was wonderful and in a great location. Normal little breakfast bar, and good help with things to do around town. The room was comfortable and reasonably priced for being right where you want to be in the french quarter. Close to the action but not on a really noisy street. CONS: The main con is the service. The staff was often distracted […] or just absent. Nothing too bad but it definitely was strange for a hotel to feel understaffed in NOLA during Halloween! The other con is that many rooms have no windows, but that really wasn't a big deal. Læs mere

Very unique older hotel fits well into the french quarter. Very close to anything you may want to see in the area. Rooms were clean and the staff was very attentive.

Excellent service from the front desk to the attendant at the complimentary breakfast bar. Will definitely return!

This was one of the best stays in New Orleans, hotel was extremely personalble, helped and even upgraded us to an inside suite and made the stay just wonderful. It was easily accessible for the day and night fun!

Staff was very friendly and hospitable. Perfect location for the French Quarter.

The hotel was very old and the furnishings in the rooms were very dated. I would say the rooms were adequate. The staff was exceptionally helpful ,friendly and courteous.

This is a great location for visiting the French Quarter, providing a great location, traditional atmosphere, comfort and courteous service.

The hotel was very nice and the employees were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. My only complaint was that our room did not have a window. I'm not sure if any of the rooms have windows, but I'm going to request it the next time we go. Other than that, great hotel, great location!

The Bienville House has become one of our go-to NOLA hotels. We spend weekends in the quarter regularly, and have narrowed our favorites down to just a few hotels. It is small, very nice, reasonably priced and the location can't be beat. As with any hotel in the quarter, you hear every noise on the street at every hour of the day, but it is a couple […] of blocks off of Bourbon, so there is some buffer. It is a sister hotel to the Monteleone, but the prices are better. Don't expect the Ritz, and you won't be disappointed. We even got a nice balcony on our last visit! Great for breakfast in the morning! They have a nice, chic pool, a small, but authentic bar, and serve cookies in the lobby. If you want a one or two night stay in the quarter with your significant other, that won't break the bank, this is a great choice. (But do go have a drink at the Monteleone bar, while you're there). I am a recent college graduate and wanted to have one last hurrah with my best girlfriends this past spring before we all went our separate ways. Bienville House was absolutely PERFECT for our girl's trip! Born and raised in Texas, I visit New Orleans just about every year since I have a lot of family in Louisiana. Because of this, I was put in charge […] of coordinating a trip to NOLA for 8 college women with tight budgets. I normally stay at Hotel Monteleone, but this was out of our price range. After a little research, I happened upon Bienville House which is managed by the same company that manages Hotel Monteleone. Our stay was booked within the hour. Bienville House captures the look and feel of the French Quarter and is located right off of Decatur Street. It put us only a few blocks away from Bourbon Street, Harrah's, the Riverwalk, Jackson Square, and Cafe Du Monde. Additionally, Bienville house has its own restaurant/bar, events for its guests, and a praline shop in its building. However, it was the staff at Bienville House that truly made our stay amazing. The moment we drove into the parking garage, we were attended to. The valets were quick to help us with our bags and each night, they pointed us in the direction of the nearby college hang outs. Beverly, at the front desk, welcomed us with a big smile and checked in with us at least once a day to make sure we were having a fabulous girls' trip. And a fabulous girls' trip we had. Each young woman in the group walked away with nothing but great memories and rave reviews about the French Quarter, especially Bienville House. I honestly could not have asked for a better trip, I hope to have many more girls' trips with this group in the years to come. Hotel is beautiful. Great bar w/ specialty drinks. Pool is nice and location great. Would definitely go there again.

The service was excellent. The only minor issue was that the young man at the desk at check out mumbled and didn't have much personality. The room was very clean except for the fact that there was some paper and used q-tips on the floor under the bed (yes, I always look under the bed). We initially reserved a Deluxe King, but, to our delight, we were upgraded to the Penthouse Suite! It was amazing and no additional charge. The staff was wonderful, they remembered our names the entire visit and could not have been more courteous. We loved the location, parked the car with the valet and walked everywhere. This was our first stay at […] Bienville House, but the first of many. It is our new 'go to' hotel. We highly recommend it, and look forward to staying there again. Nothing too fancy, but the staff was pleasant and helpful, the room clean, the breakfast in the morning okay, and the location was great. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for reasonable rates near the French Quarter. We will strongly consider using if we return to NOLA.

If you are looking for an Authentic New Orleans Experience Bienville House is definately the place to stay. It is quaint, cozy and comfy. The rooms are not large but they are comfortable. I actually enjoy the interior rooms because I prefer to sleep in on vacation. The staff was warm and friendly particularly the valet Lucious(sp) and Beverly at the […] front desk. I particularly enjoyed the location because we could walk over to Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street to listen to music at night and Cafe Du Monde in the morning for coffee. Læs mere

Good place to stay if you are visiting the French Quarter. Walking distance to all major sites. Parking is bad. Must valet park and takes a while for your car to be retrieved. We stayed on the 3rd floor and above us was a family with small children. We could here the children running above our room all day and night. Walls are very thin, so you can […] image what else we heard........... Continental breakfast was really weak. I do not recommend this location if you have small children, not kid friendly at all. This was our 19th visit to New Orleans. We've stayed at much more expensive, tony hotels in the past. We had a wonderful experience at The Bienville house. Our room was large, the bedding luxurious, friendly staff, nice pool. Not a single complaint from us. Would definitely stay there again. Great central location. Nice boutique-ie hotel.

Great location and lovely facility. Our only problem was we had a room without a window.

Initially we arrived to a room with no windows! where we come from in the UK that is illegal. we were claustrophobic. Also I had called ahead from London a few months prior to make sure we had a nice room so I was disappointed at first. We were then put into an amazing room with a terrace and much higher ceilings and great view of the Fire Dept across […] the street. In the end we had a GREAT time and loved the hotel and the staff friendliness. Dont plan on eating breakfast there, pretty basic, nothing hot but there are many restaurants in the neighbourhood to choose from and we selected something different every day which was good to explore! Dont miss Cafe du Monde for coffee! Overall you cant go wrong if you are in the French Quarter its just full of life and great architecture, vibe. we will stay at Bienville house again if we go back. Was here before Katrina and now in 2011 and its still a great place to stay. Great location near all the French Quarter attractions. Very comfortable feeling about the place.
