Helt fint hotel med perfekt beliggenhed tæt på Union Square og Market Street. Venligt personale. Ville gerne bo der igen næste gang turen går til San Francisco.

Hotellet ligger lige midt i det hele - altså i gå afstand.

King George hotel er både et hotel for forretningsfolk og familier. det har en super beliggenhed ved Union square med alle de store forretninger. Værelserne er ikke store, men ved en familieferie opholder man sig kun her når man sover. Pænt og rent.

Dejligt hotel der levede op til vores forventninger. Der er ikke mulighed for morgenmad. Centralt beliggende.

Meget, meget velbelligende hotel - lige midt i shopping / restaurant / Cable Cars kvarteret og tæt på BART. Personalet er meget hjælpsomme og opmærksomme på turisters behov i byen. Rengøringsstandarden er formidabel - jeg har ikke oplevet et hotelværelse gjort så rent hver eneste dag - heller ikke på 5 stjernede hoteller. Og så ligger restauranten Cafe […] Mason klods op af hotellet - med virkelig god mad morgen, middag og aften. En anden helt genial ting er beliggenheden tæt på Hertz (325 Mason Street) biludlejning og en garage hvor man parkerer billigt om natten. Vi har nu boet der to gange i de sidste 2 år, og standarden er bestemt ikke blevet dårligere. Og så til prisen, der ligger faktorer under de store hoteller (Hilton/Nikko/Hyatt/Mariott) - og efter min mening er King George meget hyggeligere. Læs mere

Lidt nedslidt hotel, der ligger rigtigt godt. Bestemt value for money, men sengene er ikke de allerbedste. Sødt og rart personale.

Vi var et kærestepar afsted, og havde et rigtig fint ophold på king george. Hotellet er super centralt lige op ad Union Square og mange shopping muligheder lige om hjørnet. God komfot og venligt personale. Vi havde nogle gode fem dage på hotellet og ville ikke tøve med at vende tilbage.

Very close to Union Square, activities and shopping. Many restaurants nearby, from fast food to sit-down. While the rooms can be small, they're very comfortable, clean and well maintained for an older property. Parking rates are comparable to nearby hotels. Friendly staff and housekeeping was quick on a minor issue in the room. This is a great place […] for one or two people to stay and walk to every imaginable activity nearby. Upper floors help with the city noise, but remember that it's right in the heart of Union Square so you have to accept the noise. Ask for a room away from the street. We stopped at the King George for one night and it was absolutely fine. One of the cheaper hotels in this area, the staff were very helpful, there was free Internet and access to a printer, the room was nicely decorated and of a good size, and there is lots nearby. Would stay again.

Small room, no AirCon, just a ceiling fan.

This place has great SF character. The staff was amazing, the location is in the heart of shopping in Union Square. We had an easy walk down to Fisherman's Wharf and took a taxi back. Well worth it and I WILL stay there again.

It was as expected...older hotel, with small rooms, but clean enough for me to stay there again for the price...

very pleased with a night at the King George ... a short walk from Powell St Bart and a great location for a short stay in San Francisco. Rather than breakfast at Lori's Diner try the place over the road on the corner of the street for a change, either are good, but the latter was great.

The hotel was very clean, our room looked freshly painted and well maintained. The room are smallish but we had no issue with that since we spent most of our time elsewhere.The staff was very accommodating, they brought a cot for our daughter to stay with us a night since she lives near by. Also provided us with a small refrigerator too. The location […] is good, near the BART, Union Square, bus stops, restaurants, China Town, need I say more? The price was very fair for SF I think. The only complaint? The toilet was very powerful so you had to be careful for splashing FRESH water. I forgot to tell the staff about hat one though. Læs mere

Although the room is small, this is a great location for a last min. get away and explore San Francisco. The location is close to Powell Bart rail system, Union square, and various Bus lines. I recommend this hotel for those who are planning a 2 day adventure in the city.

Cute, comfortable quaint hotel!! very close to EVERYTHING,The rooms are very small but actually it added to the charm of the hotel! It was all that we needed for the nite,and yes I would stay there again.

The hotel is very close to Union Square and the cable cars that run down Powell. I could even hear the cable car bells from my room from time to time. The staff was attentive and helpful. They were even kind when I stumbled down stairs and asked them to point me toward the nearest Starbucks. The room was small and not fancy - but it was comfortable […] and clean. I have stayed at the King George before so I am a repeat visitor. It is so convenient to Union Sqaure, the Bart, and everything I want to do in San Francisco. I had some challenges with my arriving flight and the concierge service made sure that my room would be ready for me when I finally arrived. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. I had two nights and three days for . Fair value for the room BUT the union at one of the neighboring hotels were on strike and were loud and I asked to be moved. The Hotel staff at King George Hotel accomodated quickly and I was moved to the opposite side of the hotel where it was nice and peaceful. I would guess there are many tourists who would find this old building charming, but it mostly just reminds me of the old badly-maintained rotting building I lived in when I had an apartment in San Francisco. It's cleanliness objectively fits the star rating, but there's just something about it that makes it feel a little more shabby. The doors don't […] quite make a seal, you can hear just a bit too much of the neighbor's rumblings, and the bedding just isn't comfort-inspiring. The free wifi is usable for looking up addresses, but don't expect to get any work done (and definitely don't expect to make a skype call). The neighborhood is half Tenderloin, half Euro backpacker. (Though very convenient if, like me, you really like Thai food. It's abundant.) The shower puts out consistently hot water, which is lovely. The complimentary ring of soap is impossibly clever. But these are the highlights. If it's your first time to SF, stay somewhere nicer, so you don't get too bad of an idea about the place. Or, for the price, just stay at the hostel next door. You'll have a lot more fun and you won't have to suffer through Sir Churchill staring you down as you wait for the elevator. Læs mere

Peeling paint. Lights did not work. Room was dirty and full of odors. One small slow elevator accommodated a 9 story hotel. Parking was $33 per day. Hotel was dated and had not been refurbished in decades.

Great location, but the loud protest at the nearby Hotel Frank could be heard, and was really annoying at 6 am on Saturday.

All was good until 1:30 in the morning the old heater started to clang and wouldn't stop for awhile.

Great location. Old and ugly hotel/rooms. I guess it is clean, not even sure. It just looks so horrible. Notes: - I could clearly hear the neighbours talking - I had to call three times to get their old heating system working and I was still cold... Appart from the location, nothing good in this hotel.

Having the floors refinished in your home is a daunting task, as you have to move out, even if it is in your city. We picked the King George because of the location, price and the history. It was built in 1914 and still retains the charm and grace, after all these years. The staff went over backwards to make are stay pleasant. If you are looking for […] somewhere that is in a safe and convenient location, this is the hotel for you. You are a few blocks from Union Square but also close the the theater district. The public bus system is excellent in San Francisco and on one of our forays to North Beach and back, the bus stopped 1 block from the hotel. For the money and the quality of the hotel, this should be your first choice. I am a food critic in San Francisco, so you know I know quality and good service. Læs mere

we stayed here for 1 night. We booked this hotel as we wanted to be close to Union Square. The room was ok but we could barely sleep at night because the walls very VERY thin and we could clearly hear people in the adjacent rooms. It was quite noisy. The staff is not very friendly either. Overall disappointed with our stay.

Our room was small but clean. The pay movies offered were not available due to some undefined technical issue, so no late night entertainment. We ordered breakfast the following day in our room and it never arrived. When we inquired, we found out that they did not know which room had ordered the breakfast. They offered to reorder, but by the time the […] food would have arrived, we would have been late for an appointment. The King George is a small, older hotel in a great location. It's an excellent value.

The bed was comfortable, room was cozy but however, the heater is not functioning and no non-smoking room available as there was a convention on going during the week I was there. Walking distance to shopping areas at union sq and market st.

My only gripe about this place is that they advertise that the rooms have "candy jars", which sounds really fun and like an unique amenity. However, when we got to the room, there was just a jar full of mints. Perhaps that is nitpicky, but I don't really think of mints when I hear "candy jar".

Was easy to find for a very nervous first time traveller! Very close to everything you would want to experience! Would stay again for the price, just my style quaint, not to over the top fancy but classy!! Hotel staff very friendly and willing to help

This hotel is in an ideal location. The staff is terrific. Rooms are clean, although some are small. A great place to stay in the haert of S.F.

This hotel is convenient to Union Square, very clean, nice staff and serviceable rooms with free Internet. But my room next to the elevator overlooking busy Mason street was extremely noisy and sleep was nearly impossible.

Kind of an old style hotel, located very close to most of the attractions in SF. Stayed there for 3 days. The rooms are clean and the hotel employees are very helpful. Has free WiFi. It was very cold & rainy. The heating radiator in the room did not work our last night we were furnished with a space heater. The staff were excellent.

If you have ever longed for a Hotel where a 7am alarm call was not necessary, this is the place. Right on the stroke of 7 EVERY morning we were there the Hotel round the corner, Hotel Frank San Francisco, a recently foreclosed bankrupt hotel, saw a protest with megaphone and chants lasting a full hour. I'm telling you, this guy can protest, but I guess […] he's had a lot of practice because from what I understand it has been going on for nearly a year. It also repeats at around 3pm daily at the afternoon shift change. The new owners appear intent on busting the union and will not negotiate a contract, thus the protests will continue. This is a part of town with a lot of what are fondly termed "boutique" hotels but in most cases these are not gems. The King George had its share of quaintness. The room key reader required certain "skills" to make it open reliably, after two nights we had just about nailed it. The elevator filled up at the top and stopped at evey floor on the way down to disappointed faces for whom there was simply no room. The spiral staircase was only an option if you were without your luggage. We won't be going back, we love sleeping too much. There's a Fault Line here! There's a Picket Line here! We were at the King George on New Years Eve so expected it to be noisey etc. Room was tiny, and we couldnt open windows due to outside noise, even with windows closed was still noisey due to old windows, paper thin. Rooms small, but comfortable. Hotel is centrally located. Valet parking great. Staff very helpful. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Shopping all around. Price was decent. Really liked that the housekeeping was great and towels thick and replaced daily... Even when we hung them up. Would recommend.
