Vi var meget tifredse med hotellet, en af de pæneste jeg har boet på i London. Flot, stort og rent og meget rimeligt i pris, og ufatteligt centralt lige over for stationen Gloucester Road i hyggeligt kvarter i Kensington. Vi fik først værelse med dobbeltseng, men da vi var to veninder, spurgte vi om de havde et twin som bestilt - og fik så det fedeste værelse, dobbelt så stort, ingen støj, kæmpe badeværelse - virkelig god service og hyggelig hotelbar og lobby. Ville klart anbefale det og bo der igen.

Det ligger tæt på the tube, både Lancaster gate men også Paddington. Ikke noget prangende hotel, men hvem kan også forvente det til denne pris.

Værelset var rent - og meget bekvemt med det lille køkken. Dog savnede jeg mulighed for filterkaffe, der var en lille stempelkande, som efterlod kaffen med meget grums, næste gang tager jeg egen filter og trakt med. Jeg var heldig med stort vindue ud mod vejen. Jeg nød meget at være på værelset. Der er ingen lounge eller fællesareal, men venlig betjening fra den lille reception under trappen. Beliggenheden er perfekt, på stille og smuk vej, og Notting Hill Gate og alle nødvendige butikker lige om hjørnet. Jeg kommer igen.

Restauranten har 95 siddepladser med bar og walk-in vinskab. Det nye design blandt de eksisterende stoffer med nutidige elementer. Restauranten serverer klassiske retter samt moderne favoritter, en grillsektion og daglige regionale europæiske specialiteter. Vinkortet er europæisk.
Homage Patisserie - Serverer morgenkaffe og eftermiddagste. Indgangen til patisseriet er fra lobbyen, og har en unik overflade i presset metal. Værelserne indeholder originale paneler fra Waring and Gillow. Blandt de overdådige stoffer og antikke møbler er samlingspunktet en disk med lækkert bagværk om dagen, og champagne om aftenen. Homage Cocktail Bar - Tidligere The Hansom Cab and Grill, The Opera Bar og The Gaslight Bar. University of London og British Museum tilfører Bloomsbury en lærd atmosfære. Charlotte Street byder på gode restauranter, og på Tottenham Court Road finder man elektronikbutikker for enhver pengepung samt forbindelse til de 300 forretninger på det travle Oxford Street. Det fine kvarter Soho ligger nogle få minutters gang borte. Det er fyldt med lokal karakter, spændende pubber, fine restauranter, West End-teatre og et righoldigt, undertiden dristigt, natteliv.

Hotellet var rigtig lækkert og placeringen var perfekt lige midt i Soho. Værelset var ok, dog var indretningen ikke optimal, da man kunne sidde i sengen og se på dem der gik på toiletten, som kun var beskyttet af matterede glas. "Den bedste placering"
Super godt placering , luksus service. Vi har reserveret et værelse med 50% nedsat i prisen, vi fik et værelse mod baggård, så det var OK for prisen. Jeg skal absolut tilbage til denne hotel ved næste besøg til London. Igen den bedste placering nogensinde.
Havde bestilt et værelse i kategorien standard. Det viste sig at det værelse vi fik ikke havde noget badekar på trods af hotellet er 5-stjernet. Efter at have beklaget os til receptionen, fik vi dog et andet værelse som havde badekar, men værelset var meget småt og havde kun et enkelt lille bitte vindue (nærmest et glughul!). Der manglede desuden hylder […] til at lægge tøjet på. Ud over denne mindre skuffelse manglede der bestemt ikke noget på værelset. Hotellet har en fin beliggenhed kun et par hundrede meter fra Covent Garden. Morgensmads buffeten er sublim og indeholder alt hvad man kan kan forlange. Hvis der er fyldt op i restauranten bliver man vist ind i en overdådig flot sal med spejle, lysekroner og blid dæmpet opera i højttalerne. Vi havde booket et tilbud, hvor der var 50% rabat på værelset, og til den pris kan vi kun være tilfredse med hotellet. Havde vi betalt fuld pris havde vi været skuffede over værelset. Læs mere
"Great location"
Booked a non-smoking room but gave us a smoking room. They were going to switch us to a smaller non-smoking, but when I complained, they upgraded our room. Location was great - so close to everything and the bus line is right in front of the hotel. It is an older hotel and is going through lots of renovation right now. At first the hotel tried to place us in a room category lower than what we booked via Hotels.com. (Which is common practice amongst many hotels it seems). We called to the front desk when we arrived in our room -- as was actually in a small room without the queen bed we paid for...but then a friendly bell hop came to the room with our luggage, called […] the front desk and had us moved immediately to the room category we had originally paid for and reserved. A great hotel, room was fantasic until we realised that when the shower was running to water did not drain away and simply flooded to room. I would stay here again, but will get a room with a bath next time

Comfortable room, if a little small, but unbearably hot when we arrived. An engineer came to look at the air-conditioning and managed to get it just about working. When we returned from the theatre that evening the temperature was just OK, but the fan noise was really loud. Lovely gesture of cake tray for my wifes birthday when it had only been mentioned in passing at reception check in. these touches make all the difference when marking service.Strongly recommend this hotel for service convenience of location although view from any city center hotel room can be varied

Great hotel, I have wanted to stay there for a long time and it more than exceeded our expectations. Dinner before going to a show was superb and in great surroundings. We will be cominng here again

Thank you for an excellent stay! The hotel was excellent and had a wonderful staff. We forgot a jacket in the room when we left, but they sent it to us within a couple of days. Great service and location. I can asure you that we will return to this hotel on our next trip to London!

Lovely stay at the Waldorf. Staff all very freindly and helpful. Not happy about excessive service charge on drinks but then thats the West End. Breakfast room beautiful surroundings but ice cold so hard to enjoy the generous breakfast

"Superb, faultless 5* stay"
Gift to mother in law - Fantastic experience started with a superb room upgrade. Stayed here & went to the theatre to see War Horse (also excellent). We were also fortunate to buy a Groupon voucher to dine in the restaurant at reduced rate and included champagne. Faultless 10 out of 10.

"10 years and it's still not right"
I have stayed at this hotel many times under many different marquees / brands. I don't think I have ever stayed there without construction or some other type of disruption going on. 10 years running! The best thing about it is the gym in the lower ground level. And the location is very good - close to covent garden tube and almost equidistant from Holburn. […] Food is also quite mediocre. If you have another option, use it unless you are so committed to a good gym workout that you are willing to put up with other problems that distract from a good stay. Læs mere
"Bad service"
When checking in, the receptionist was quite rude. when I walked in to the room and opened the curtain, I found a wall inches from the window. When I called the front desk to ask if there were any other rooms available, I was told someone would call me back. I waited over 10 minutes with no response so I went up to the front and upon hearing my name, […] the lady knew right away that I was waiting for someone to call me, yet there she was chatting with a co-worker. Also, I didn't need my room cleaned so I called housekeeping to please just refresh the towels, no one came. I waited until morning and had to make another request. I do expect superior service when staying at a hotel that charges what the Waldorf does, but I was very disappointed to have gotten such poor service. I did get another room with a much better view, but since it was low season with not many rooms occupied, I don't understand why they would give me what seemed like the worst room in the hotel. "Staying with history"
When i chose to stay at Waldorf Hilton, it was with an awareness of the history associated with the hotel bordering on 'reverence' that i decided to opt for it. To stay at The Waldorf was indeed being with history. The building, the facade....reminds one of the histrocity of the hotel. London is not far from home however when we come to see a show we like to enjoy good hotel rooms. We only stayed one night here, the room was disappointing. On being welcomed at the restaurant for breakfast we were then ignored. While collecting our buffet breakfast we returned to our table to find the long awaited for drinks and our cutlery being […] cleared away They did apologise but breakfast was cooled by the time the new cutlery arrived and we aquired someone else's cleared teapot as well as ours. When you think of the Waldorf you think of old world charm and sofistication. When you walk in the front door everything gives this impression. Afternoon tea and dinner in the restaurant were a pleasure. The breakfast room was beautful. We were however very disappointed with our room and this was after paying for an upgrade on arrival. Here the charm […] stops, the room was very modern with orange paint and silver grey drapes and was not a place in which I would choose to relax. A tangle of wires with small lights made up the light fixture over the bed. The bed however was very comfortable but I was happy we were there for only one night. The hotel is in a great location. I walked to all the sights I wanted to see! The hotel itself was nice -- rooms aren't really big, but what you would expect in a big city and they make good use of the space. However, the service and staff attitudes were incredibly varied. Restaurant hostess was snobby and rude on a ocuple of occasions. One waitress […] was great while another waiter was impossible to get to come back. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Had high hope for this 5 Star Hotel & was a treat for a Friend. Unfortunately it is not to 5 Star standards, so was a big disappointment. Bathroom needed updating, products & refreshments where sparse especially as it was a twin room, not enough for 2 for even one night! Beds where rickety. Pool area needs some urgent attention the lack of repairs & […] decor made you wonder how clean the area was. TV reception was awful. The only good points where location & the staff which you couldn't fault. would not go back which is a great shame as such a well known hotel, i feel they are riding on there name massively. Læs mere

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Waldorf Hilton. The staff were very helpful and the complimentary bottle of wine made a great start too! The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and we made a point of sitting and enjoying the wonderful surroundings in which it was served. The location was perfect for us as we had tickets […] to the Royal Opera House, literally 5 minutes walk, if you walk slowly! Great restaurants around there too. This hotel is in an amazing location and you receive impeccable service. However for a five star hotel I didn't expect to find a torn bed covering which then makes you doubt the cleanliness etc of the room! I would definitely stay there again as it was minutes away from all the best theatres.

Disspapointed for a 5* stoppped in a twin delux room on the 8th floor dingy outlook back of the the building. Only one 3 pin plug in the whole of the room diffucult with 2 women in it !! This hotel is in a good location close to Covent Garden and Theatres. We had a deluxe twin room which was spacious, clean and well presented. The check in was easy and we were able to leave our luggage with the concierge to be brought to our room when the room was ready.The down sides where faulty air conditioning and the shower flooded into the room. […] We reported these faults at reception and they just said they would report it to housekeeping. We checked out later that day and housekeeping had still not arrived. We stayed here one night to go to the Theatre. The Rennovations are excellent - except the windows rattled as a storm blew threw the night.There is no insulation brushes on the new windows! The swish design of the bathroom means no proper space for your wash gear! Breakfast was fantastic in the Palm Court and all round it was a value for money stay […] in the heart of theatreland! From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Although we arrived very early, they were able to give us a room right away. Once we set out from the hotel, arrmed with maps and information supplied with by the staff, we discovered the hotel was in a great location. The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus […] and many other sights were within walking distance Also close by were all forms of public transportation. The rooms was very clean and I felt large for European hotels. Amenities were wonderful as was the breakfast provided at the hotel.
