Vi oplevede meget sure ansatte, der slet ikke var klar til at yde noget som helst, ud over et minimalt niveau af service. Ydermere havde vi en meget larmede aircondition i værelset og et fjernsyn, der ikke rigtigt virkede. Absolut under hvad man kan burde kunne forvente af et hotel i denne prisklasse!

Vi flottede os lidt - og det var det hele værd. Bestilte værelse med udsigt til Central Park. Super beliggenhed. Flot værelse på 24. etage. Hoteldørmanden foreslog, at vi tog en stor privat transport til lufthavnen for 85 dollar. Dejlig bil - men der skal også betales drikkepenge. Husk det. Kan absolut anbefales.

Mulighed for opgradering til rimelig pris. Lidt kedelig morgenbuffet. Personalet hjælpsomme og høflige.

Dejligt hotel på kanten af Central Park. Boede på 14 etage med en mindre god udsigt, men det gjorde ikke noget, da vi brugte det meste af tiden på at opleve byen. Blev tilbudt opgradering til 43 etage, men takkede nej da det ville koste et rimeligt beløb pr nat. Personalet var søde og hjælpsomme. Vi spiste ikke morgenmad på hotellet, da det var for […] dyrt per person. Men gå over på 7th ave, der ligger mange gode steder at spise morgenmad. Bedste er at det ligger lige ved Central Park og vi derfor ofte sad derovre og nød vejret og pulsen. Desuden ligger der en Subway station få meter fra hotellets hoved indgang med god forbindelse til nedre Manhatten. Læs mere

Strange approach by the staff starting with chech-in and ending with no possibility for a bath after check-out and after a day meeting and before flying out.To expensiv compared to the price and only the location and view can justify the chose.

Dejligt rummeligt værelse med en skøn udsigt over Central Park. Masser af skabs- og skuffeplads og komfortable stole og bord ved vinduet, god stor seng. Alt personale vi havde kontakt med var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Absolut et hotel vi ville vælge igen.

Pænt og velholdt hotel i centrum af New York. Dejlig restaurant med udsigt over Central Park. Høflig og venlig betjening overalt. Værelserne i klassisk stil - noget anderledes end hotellets øvrige faciliteter. Men meget komfortable - rent og pænt overalt.

So convenient! Great view of Central Park. Good sized room. Big bathroom. Very knowledgeable concierge.

hotel is clean and staff are very helpful with any query. The location is great if you want to explore on foot or use the metro. Shopping is excellant as you are at the top of 5th Avenue. Would recommend the hotel for location.

We usually stay here altho the rates seem high for the shabbiness of the hotel. It's been centuries since this place was renovated. The elevators used to be very slow; that seems much better. The wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling off. The water doesn't drain during the shower. Computer system must be old. We had to call them to turn the lamps on […] and off because they were so old. We had canceled the last night before coming but they never registered that. Fortunately, I had a printed copy. For the last day we asked for an extended check-out. They gave us an hour but on the last day tried to get us out with no extension. All worked out ... Læs mere

The hotel was very nice, clean, and had a great location. The problem I had was arriving to check-in at 8:00 pm and being told that the room I reserved months in advance was not yet ready. They offered a different type of room, which would not accommodate our entire family, or to have us wait an hour and a half for the room we were supposed to have. […] They did not offer anything else to make up for their error. The room itself was quite nice, but one of the lamps flickered when left on. Internet also cost extra, which is a downside but probably common for hotels in this area. For the highly discounted nightly rate we received for this hotel, it was worth the money spent, but I would not pay the regular price to stay here again. Læs mere

Old world NYC charm in excellent hotel. WIsh they had later room service after midnight, but otherwise, comfortable, clean, spacious, convenient.

Pretty much as expected. Pool hours 10-10 not convenient to this early a.m. swimmer. Nice upgrade to junior suite (at additional reasonable charge) but other couple with same reservation got it free! (And mgr wouldn't match for us.) It came with a terrific breakfast!

Excellent

Beautiful view, beautiful room. Made good use of the well-equipped business center. Loved the restaurant's huge window's overlooking CP, and the small touches as well—sweet butter served up in round pats rather than in tin wrappers.

Non smokers must ask for nonsmoking room. Apart from that nice hotel .

Everything about the hotel was great except the service in the lobby. Every afternoon at check-in time (3PM) the lobby is extremely busy and understaffed.

I was very pleased with our stay.It was a very nice hotel, well located to entral Park, shopping and the subway.

Leona Helmsley must be rolling in her grave. This hotel is a disgrace. The rooms are dingy, old, worn out and look and feel filthy. The furniture should have been thrown out 25 years ago. The bathroom was tragically old and felt dirty. I had to change rooms 3 times to find one that was barely livable. The first room had bordello red shag carpet. The […] 2nd room had bubble gum embedded in the rug. The staff are old and tired and can barely keep up with the fast pace of the 21st century. This property should be closed and completely gutted. Not what we expected for the nightly rate. Long lines at the front desk. Lack of phone operators to answer calls made to the hotel. Although the beds were comfortable and the furniture was in good condition we did not find the wallpaper to be clean or the tile floor in the bathroom. Disappointed at the Helmsley Park Lane. The Helmsley Park Lane was a wonderful hotel. The location directly across the street from Central Park and Columbus Circle was fantastic! My room was spacious and clean, with a large bathroom and closet. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were absolutely no bed bugs!! I had the city view, I think the park side would be better, but, the city […] view was cool too and I was in NYC to explore, so I wasn't in my hotel to much anyway. Fabulous location on Central Park South. The park view was wonderful, the room extremely large (not just by NY standards) and comfortable. The decor is still attractive but in need of updating and some slight repairs. Annoyances included no coffee maker, poor television reception, and a slightly sagging mattress. We booked a room with two double beds, nonsmoking, but when we arrived, we were told that there were no nonsmoking double-bed rooms available. We ended up in a room with a king bed and a roll-away, but the room itself was an upgrade with a great view, so we weren't too upset. While the decor is a little out of date, the rooms were clean, comfortable and not at all shabby. The staff was very accomodating. I arrived very late at night and the front desk staff upgraded my room without request. I had a million dollar view of Central Park for a bargain price. Everything was clean and the bed very comfortable, but the hotel needs updating and repair. The furniture was old, electrical sockets pull out of the wall, the toilet seat was loose etc. The hotel is not 4 star. Everything was perfect! Room was BEAUTUFUL/ spacious! Staff was wonderful.. Location was perfect!

I go to NYC often but usually stay in higher priced boutique hotels. However Park Lane was better positioned and offered unparalleled central park views with the park side rooms. Hotels.com made it ridiculously inexpensive for what we received. Many thanks

Everything was fine except that the person who took my reservation over the phone volunteered that we would have a park view. I did not request it, but he volunteered. I specifically questioned him about it, and he confirmed it. I did not ask for it in writing because I had a confirmation number. The ONLY thing this hotel has going is it's incredible Central Park South location. ALL other aspects of a good hotel are missing. The General Manager should be fired and replaced with someone who knows how to run a hotel. There is no excuse for allowing this once fine hotel to decay to this extent.

I found the hotel and staff very helpful and considerate. Also, This place is totally kids friendly, which was perfect since I was there alone with my 2 boys. I will definitely go back to that hotel when a similar occasion occurs. Nice executive suite (two doubles) setting with a great view. The rooms are big enough to move around in a respectable […] fashion. You hear the ambient noise... but that's the same in almost every hotel in Manhattan. Also, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the hotel for a romantic getaway... the beds are ordinary, yet sufficiently comfortable. Immediate proximity to Central Park,FAO Schwartz and 5th Ave are priceless. It is also very close, even with kids to Rockefeller Center (breakfast at Bouchon Bakery, a large upgrade compared to Starbucks and friend!!!) MoMa and Time Square. tried some great restaurants around. Don't miss on Haru in Time Square if you like sushi and L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon if you are fond of exquisite french cuisine and a great wine list!!! Læs mere

We stayed here because we were going to a family event nearby. The rooms are a little dated and could use refurbishment - peeling wall paper -- but over all very clean and well-sized. My only complaint was that I went Sunday morning and asked the reception desk to increase a brunch reservation that I had previously made at a restaurant. I was told it […] would be taken care of but when I went to check out of the hotel 15 minutes before the reservation I was only then told that they had been unable to get through to the restaurant.
