The hotel was great as usual. Looks really good after the renovation but I liked it before. The one area of improvement is the ORO restaurant. I think they said it was the third day of the new menu and the food was not too good. Also we had mojito's and the drinks were not good either. The waiter was great. This hotel is far from 3.5/4 stars. Dirty, tiny rooms, rude staff... Not what I expected. Also, parking was outrageous! $30 a day. My advice: Book somewhere else.

I didn't care for the hotel much. It was certainly old, with some character, but I was not very comfortable in the room. The whole floor and room was damp/humid, with a slight foul smell (such as from an old, old building). It was a pain to close the huge curtains, which consisted of pooling a rope chain for a couple minutes. The lobby was kind of neat […] & odd, I guess. The pool was very tiny so I did not use. The fitness room was adequate. Parking was not convenient, as I parked blocks away to avoid the high valet costs (I'm cheap). The staff seemed to consist of immature teenagers or early twenty-somethings, and not overly friendly. It was very convenient to the Alamo and a few other attractions, but for the price I would probably stay at another place next time in town. Læs mere

The location is walking distance to everything! Great service and nice room. However, I would ask to stay up higher than the second floor. You can hear conversations from the street level.

Our stay was only a single night, but very enjoyable. The Hotel is older, yet updated, and has quaint character. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the room very comfortable. Especially enjoyed the whirlpool tub for two included in our room. Vending machines are somewhat inconvenient due to the fact that ice, soda's, and snack machines […] are found on separate floors of the Hotel. Directly across the street from the Alamo, and then another street over to the Riverwalk! Interior of the hotel was very nice, definitely worth the price. Happy hour at the hotel bar was fun too. Will be staying here every time we visit San Antonio!!!

Room was small and view not so great on our side of the building but overall was very comfortable and met our needs. Very close to almost everything we wanted to do and were able to walk to most destinations. Cost for daily valet parking seemed a little steep but they were fast and considerate about getting our vehicle to us when called.

I am very picky about cleanliness and I must say that this hotel is one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest, hotels I have ever stayed in. It is also right next to the Alamo, which was awesome. It was a very short walk to the Riverwalk area and all that it has to offer as well. The beds were very comfortable, so much so that I didn't want to get out […] of it! All the employees - from the front desk to the housekeeping to the bar area - were extremely nice and helpful, and provided great advice on places to eat and how to get around. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again. In fact, if I have the opportunity to get to San Antonio again, the Emily Morgan is the only place I would consider staying. Læs mere

Absolutely amzing! My husband and I went on a mini romantic getaway and the Emily Morgan was so much more than we could have ever imaging in a hotel. Great location! There is no self parking so you must valet. We left something in the car and it took quite some time because they have to go get your car and pull it back around for you. But the room is nice and large with large restroom vacilities. Will stay again.

The hotel was really nice, the staff and everyone that work there was very helpful and cheerful when you talk to them. Overall condition of the hotel was excellent condition new remodel too. The room was very clean and comfortable to stay in. I would recommend this hotel to friends and co-workers.

I loved the hotel and the jetted whirl pool tub. The only issue I had was that I could hear the noise from the 2 rooms I was by.

the EM is a lovely hotel with great corner rooms and city views. the staff is mostly* friendly and accommodating. it is comparable in quality to similarly priced nearby historic menger and gunter hotels. the remodel is not perfect, but keep in mind the rate is below 200 dollars/night. the EM has made great use of the smaller rooms and used quality linens […] and fixtures. the fit and feel exceeded my expectations based on reviews i read here. *my nonrefundable booking started with a hiccup. due to family emergency, i was not able to check-in on my first reserved night, and it took a bit of discussion with the EM and this website to ensure that i would not lose the room and could check-in on day 2. to be clear, i was not asking for a refund, as i understood the terms of my booking. this should not have needed 2 ten-minute phone convo's. once that was resolved, the stay was quite enjoyable. we valet parked at comparable rate to surrounding hotels, and on foot we enjoyed fiesta, king william fair, and the river walk. the hotel is pet friendly. my booking had no pet fees, which was remarkable. the pool and spa area was clean, stocked with towels, and offered hours we could still enjoy after a late dinner. check-out and valet were fast friendly and smooth. first time to stay here, have stayed dozens of times in other San Antonio hotels. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet, appear to have had recent renovations. Great location for tourist attractions.

I LOVED this hotel!!! The location is right next door to the Alamo. I had a terrific view looking over the Alamo. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the Whirlpool bath. The only down side is that you have to pay for parking at the hotel as well as internet if you want wi-fi! I wanted the jetted tub and I called Hotels.com and was confirmed said room. I arrived at the Hotel and no jetted tubs were available. I was told next time I should book through the hotel to get exactly what I wanted.

I loved the location and the front staff was wonderful, room super clean and nicely appointed. I don't know if I will stay here again, because it got really weird in our room at night. The Emily Morgan Hotel was absolutely magnificent!!! The room, bedding,etc. was wonderful. Located right across the street from the Alamo and down the street from the River Walk. Perfect location! We will definitely stay there again. Only one unfortunate experience with pre-ordered room service for breakfast - not delivered as scheduled due to an employee […] who did not turn in the order the night before properly. When it was delivered late we did not have time to eat it. The $28.00 valet parking is costly but was necessary for us. Læs mere

Very nice hotel, great service and I did need some maintence attention in my room with the whirlpool tub- they were there in less than 5 minutes! Would not eat the breakfast buffett again- poor quality and old bagels ( like rocks).

Great location and nice historical hotel BUT it was overbooked therefore my room was not ready until 8:00 pm, requested a king instead We got; 2 queens, a roach in the bathroom and a bunch of promises to get free this and that, which did not happen and my card was charged for everything after I took off. I expect to get what I pay for, not to get free […] things. I don´t book anywhere else but EXPEDIA to make sure this never happen but this time it was not the case. The hotel was remodeled (5 million so the bell said) and it shows, the only complain in that regard is that the TV is way too small for to be watch from the bed. Læs mere
