Facilities were adequate, but could be nicer for the price. Requested wake-up call was not done, making us late for an appointment.

Rooms are very basic but are clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only real complaint is that the shower curtain rod was coming loose from the wall, since it was a rounded rod the curtain kept sliding down to the center so water got all over the floor. This hotel was a huge improvement over the last hotel I stayed in while in Wilmington. Lovely upgrades, comfortable mattress, affordable and clean! Close to UNCW and the best restaurants. I will be booking with them again and would recommend to friends and family.

The room was ok but the free breakfast food was terrible and they were out of many items. There was no AC in the dining area and it was hot.
"stinky and dirty"
Our room was only half clean we we arrived at 6pm. There was trash laying around, the bathroom was dirty, and there was stuff left from the previous guests in the bathroom. We asked for it to be re-cleaned and we were told there was no one that could do that. All the hallways and our room stunk. It smelled like a combination of cigarette smoke and musk. "Good experience over busy holiday week"
Stayed week 7/3/11...room was comfortable...had some recent upgrades(bathroom). Hotel was very quiet which is also a big plus. They offered a good continental with waffles most days and had just upgraded to full brkft the last day of our stay. Helen was very nice and did a good job running the brkft buffet. Very convenient location, just remember to […] use the back entrance to go in/out to avoid waiting at light at Oriole. Very good value for price paid...was convenient to beaches, and downtown Wilmington. The fireworks in Wilmington rival that of the mall in DC...worth seeing on 7/4. Plan to return in September. My stay at this hotel was awful. The room was old, and was stale as someone had been smoking in the room prior to our arrival even though it was a non-smoking room. I have been trying to contact the manager about this room, and it has been 3 weeks and I continue to wait on a call. He must know that his hotel really needs to be torn down. All was fine with check-in, cleanliness, etc. The 2 beds were in need of replacement. They were almost like 3/4 filled waterbeds. Other than that, it was great for the price.

Could not be more satisfied with every part of our stay. Cleanliness, room comfort, hotel amenities, convenience of location, and complimentary breakfast. Most amazing, it offered the lowest rates of any major hotel chain in the area. Highly recommended.

"Good Location"
The hotel was just OK. The lobby had a smoky smell to it but no sign of anyone smoking in facility. Our room was OK. When we arrived the tv remote did not work. We were accommodated with new batteries that resolved that issue. Hotel is fairly old so expectations were not high at all. For example, the closet had no door, arms of sitting chair was a little […] dirty, sent of smoke (even though it was a non-smoking room--probably poor ventilation). Also, the vending area was not very clean. They did have an updgrade on the bathroom sink/mirror which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and clean. However, I wouldn't shower without shower shoes or walk on the floor barefoot as I would probably do in a newer hotel or higher rated, posh hotel. I left nothing on the floor because this was the type of hotel that I wouldn't be overly surprised to find a bug or two crawling, even though I saw none. Hotel was just satisfactory for the one night we stayed. I did not use the amenities (i.e. pool or continental breakfast) so I cannot comment on those but while there others seemed to enjoy them. I'd stay if I had no other alternative but this hotel would not be my first choice. Since we had no idea about the hotels in the area this were we stayed. Having visited the area now...in the future I would probably select a newer hotel. They had several around the corner on Market Street...that just appeared to be more of my liking. The good things about the hotel were that it was centrally located and the staff was cordial. We had plans for Front Street and the Waterfront. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to those destinations from hotel. When checking in the staff was quick and replacing the batteries for the remote was seamless. I would recommend only in a crunch but this hotel would not be my first choice. Læs mere

room was fine when we checked in but they did not clean it - we were awakened at 2 in the morning by loud partiers no mgr on duty sun am to discuss the problems
