Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites, formerly the W Perimeter - Atlanta

The hotel overall was ok. The amenities that were supposed to be in my room were not included. And each morning they had only one elevator working. So the wait was rediculious! If my booking wasn't already paid in full I would have canceled and found another hotel.

This hotel is in major need of a management overhaul! The rooms were filthy, dated, worn, water damaged, and the kitchen was deplorable. We switched rooms three times and the suite they upgraded us to had a terrible smell of burned grease in the bed sheets. I like the area and front desk staff were nothing shy of excellent. Manager on site ...very Rude....no microwave available...refrigerator....or should I say cooler didn't work....manager on site 3.31.2012 around 2:30am not professional at all...need a PA system for false alarms on fires...hallways smell like mold. would not referr anyone nor would I return.

Room was bigger than I anticipated. The furnishings were small/cheap compared to the size and location of hotel. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. As a frequent business traveler, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and I will never stay here again. First, there is no valet parking. It was raining when I checked in with my family, my wife and a child and an infant. Valet parking would have helped. Second, I specifically reservered two double beds in my reservation. Shaniqua or Tawniqua or whatever her name at the front desk went into a logic loop about how they didn't have double beds available and I kept repeating myself saying I needed them and I reserved them and that she should try harder. After literally ten times of her telling me they didn't have any, she found some. "We gave you our showrooms on the tenth floor." Good save, Lawniqua. Third, the condition of the room, even though a new hotel, seemed rough, even for a show room. It was sad, really. I had stayed here several times before when it was a W. But now it is known as 'The hotel that used to be a W' the same way whatshisname is known as 'the artist formerly known as prince.' I guess you will never be as good as you used to be. The cabinets were askew and the try-to-be-hip-glass-top-cabinets were nothing more than a very fancy safety hazard for small children. But the beds were comfy and the sheets had a high thread count. At least that was good. Fourth, the fire alarm woke us up at 3:15 am, along with the rest of the hotel. By the time I made it downstairs, everyone else was coming back up. Maybe that's something that can't be controlled, but I would recommend skimming past hotel reviews of this hotel and see if you find a common theme of fire alarms going off at night. Bottom line: find another hotel. There are plenty to choose from such as a national brand that holds management to a higher standard, such as Sheraton, Marriott and even Hampton Inns would be a better choice than the hotel formerly known as a W. Hotel location was central to shopping, dining and travel in around Atlanta! Hotel stay were pleasant and accomodating. Hotel was clean, inviting and hospitable.

The hotel was in a great location. The lobby area is the best part of the whole place. A million dollar lobby, ten dollar room. The room didnt even have a mircowave.

The Hall way smells like WEED and the elevator smells like MOLD !!!!

This hotel made my stay wonderful. I will definitely use this hotel for my Atlanta stays.

the room was hot, upon looking at bed covers, there were urine and blood stains on them. Someone was smoking on our floor. The bed was very uncomfortable. The quality of the breakfast buffet was extremely poor. It stood true to the statement "looks can be deceiving" . For the $15.00 price I was greatly surprised how poor the food tasted. It was not fresh and was horrible!

This definitely is formerly a W,, if it ever was. Reserved a suite, seemed more like a weekly efficiency lodge. Cheap furniture and decor, gave a new meaning to shabby chic. If I could I would have been better off sleeping in my rental car.

My stay was fantastic, I upgraded to a deluxe suite for a reasonable price and Enjoyed the 1pm late checkout.

This hotel was comfortable.. Luckily for me I had a pretty busy weekend planned and didn't spent much time in the hotel. Like I stated before the bed was comfortable, but this hotel is in serious need of an update!

I believe the staff could be more courteous. I asked for chairs for my room. Noone tried to accommodate me. overall the stay was nice, just need more customer oriented staff.

Don't ask the front desk for anything, they will not have it or attempt to get it. I asked for a phone book to look up a street address. The person told me he did not have a phone book without looking or even pretending. He also did not offer to assist in any other way. Room was big and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Decor was caught in the 80s […] and was not maintained well either. Slip covers were missing from furniture; I believe it was missing a few pieces of furniture too. A disappointment from Starwood. Lobby and bar area neat as a pin, guest room corridors a bit iffy, guest rooms outdated, sloppy "do it yourself" maintenance, uncomfortable. Pay a little more and stay at the Westin.

Not pleased for the most part. The outside of the Hotel will certainly fool you. The lobby looks great but once you get to the room you would certainly say "what happen". Hotel was very cleaned, but was highly upset once I got back to the hotel, I wanted to warm my dinner from earlier. We took the food to the front desk, after 15 mins of waiting, the clerk tells us that the microwave does not work.. Very upsetting..

OMG got off elevator on floor that was given at checkout MILDEW SMELL IN HALLWAY...UGH!!! Then they had the nerve to have a fan blowing as if they were trying to dry the floor ARE YOU SERIOUS! Called front desk they offered to switch room but, to down the hall(how was that suppose to help hummmm it didnt so we stayed in same room). Next day MILDEW SMELL […] again when you got off elevator the front desk moved us to different floor finally. Water pressure in shower sucked, night STAFF was way more helpful than day staff. Internet was an addtl charge which shouldve been included. Front desk offered b'fast that wasnt very good at all warm apple/orange juice. The B'fast staff very rude & judgemental on guests decisions on what they drank for b'fast. NO VALET all wkend!! I enjoyed my stay overall, but there where a few things that were a problem. 1 When you pay extra for internet in your room and you can only use one computer this information should be made known to the patron and it should be availible for 2 computers at least. 2. The front desk staff was informative and very helpful. The shuttle drivers were also really nice and gave some good suggestions on the best way to get to the airport for an early morning flight. Overall, great experience.

For the price I was expecting more. First thing I noticed was the dead bolt lock didn't work. I went into the bathroom and there wasn't a shower head installed and it seems that the glass door to the shower wasn't effective at all. Our stay at The Atlanta Perimeter was a memorable one. We have no regrets about the choice we made. Every issue raised was addressed promptly. Looking forward to staying with you on our next visit.

My hubby and I got a King suite on New Year's Eve and were very pleased with the accommodations and the entire experience. We wanted a romantic getaway since it was our first night out since having the baby--but we also had the baby with us! The suite was incredibly spacious and had a large foyer, living room, kitchenette, and large dressing area in […] addition to a spacious bedroom w/ a balcony. The hotel room and common areas appeared to be very clean and well-kept, though there were some signs of wear and tear (scuffed hotel room doors, scuffed furniture). My only criticisms were 1) We narrowly stopped them from re-selling our room to another patron who was checking in at the same time even though it was fully paid for; and 2) The crib was not useable because it was so deep and we would've needed an airlift to get our infant in and out of it. We didn't complain about the loud revelers in the hallway or the false alarm around 1 a.m. since it was New Year's Eve after all. The service here is excellent from the Valet at the front door to the Service Technician whom promptly came to my room in about 5 minutes of me notifying the front desk of my television remote control not working. I almost never write a review and only do so when something is exceptionally bad or good. I stayed here on 3 occasions over the course of two weeks and rented 4 rooms. Everyone in my party had the same experience. The hotel staff at check-in were exceptionally rude other than at that desk though they were nice. The floors we stayed on smelled like […] mildew when you stepped off the elevator. Carpet was very stained in all of our rooms (I wouldn't walk on them without shoes), faucets broken, stained old tubs, broken doors on cabinets, poor lighting. The beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast was average but above average price. Wifi is an extra charge which seems silly at a place like this. Several of us did not get cleaning service to show up during our stay, beds left unmade etc... Overall the poor condition beyond the lobby made me uncomfortable. the ad stated that there was a tub in the room and there isnt. only a stand up shower that floods your bathroom floor. also my shower just started making a loud noise sounding like a jack hammer when the shower was off. the plug ins did not work, and the light bulbs were burnt out.

I live down the street from this hotel. Decided to stay here for the weekend for my birthday. I was very satisfied and will definitly be coming back! Love that they dont charge for parking now.

I have frequented the W Perimeter many, many times over the past 7 years for work and personal travel and I have always been happy with my stay and the service. It has been about 3 years since my last visit and when I had a trip to ATL planned this weekend, I looked this hotel up for rates. Since the name (and I assume managemnet) of the hotel has changed, […] the recent reviews really shocked me! I was almost hestitant to book, but I thought to myself, "could that much really have changed in such a short time?" I am pleased to say that the answer was "no!" I (and the 5 other people I was with) were definately pleased with our stay. While the room decor was a little different (not as trendy or posh but DEFINATELY still comfortable, functional and appropriate) I can tell that even though it's not named the "W" anymore it still fits nicely within the Starwood brand. The location of the hotel is excellent, with I-285 about 1/2 mile away and next door to Perimeter Mall. Lenox Mall is about a 10 minute drive, and downtown about 20-25 mintutes (with no traffic). All in all, my stay was just as good as it always has been at this property and I am glad that I did not let some of the recent user reviews deter me from booking my stay. Big plus: the suites are like an apartment. Full walk in kitchen, full roomy living area with 2 couches, flat screen television and coffee table plus a seprate bedroom with televsion and walk in closet area next to the bathroom. Both the bedroom and the living area have a balcony. We had a party of 4 in the suite an we all had more than enough personal space. All in all out 5 stars I give my stay and the property a solid 4. I would definately stay there again as well as reccommend it to friends and family. I hope that I do not sound like a "pitch" person but the recent reviews I read about this place were just truly off base. The hotel room was big but furniture outdated. The kitchen Cabinet door fell on friend's foot and management never came or called. Felt as i wass more a bother than a customer. Kitchen floor was dirty.

Hotel was nice but there were several things listed on hotels.com that were not actually available at the hotel (jetted bath, separate tub, robes (only 1), etc. We learned to call the hotel to verify before booking. The hotel needs a facelift. The outside is very plain. The lobby is pretty modern looking but cheap furniture. The staff is very friendly. We stayed in a suite. I enjoyed my hotel stay, however, I think that the Atlanta heat overwhelmed the A/C system. It was 95 degrees outside and my room simply would not cool. Other than that, I loved the place.
