Carpet did not appear to have been vacuumed. Public spaces such as vending machine or ice machine area were dirty with sticky floors, smelling like mildew.

This Best Western Hotel was directly across the street from my intended destination. The location was most convenient and indeed perfect for me. I would do a return stay if necessary. I have no complaints.

Our room had a window to the interchange, so we did hear some traffic outside the room. Strangely, the access to the hotel are equipped with room key swipers. The elevator would not go above the fourth floor unless you swiped your card there too. This seemed somewhat strange to us. The lamps were flashing when we first turned them on until we realized […] the bed was pushing on the plug. Once we pulled the bed away from the wall by an inch, the lamps were fine. The wifi was quite dodgy, but I was using an ipad, so i am not sure how it would work with a laptop. Perhaps it would be better that way. The room was jammed with what looked like new furniture, but it was not all needed nor necessary. It made it hard to figure out where the fridge was! The breakfast was good. Staff is friendly and courteous. Rooms are clean and affordable. Hot continental breakfast included in price. Hotel is close proximity to I 95,and 495, that allow access to D.C, and Maryland.

I was very impressed with my stay.The staff is very friendly and helpful.I would most definitely recommend this particular hotel to my friends which I have already done.

I had a good stay and would possibly come back but I didnt understand why the elevator would not go to the 6th floor. I assume it was broken? Its unusual to have to walk two flights and luckily i didnt have heavy bags. The executive suite had a leaky toilet that needed fixing as well and that took away a better rating, it dripped and the room should […] not have been given to me in that condition. The hotel was nice, clean, and the breakfast was very good. My only complaint would be that only one lamp in the room would light. I assume it was just a bulb issue.

I had a meeting in DC and did not want to drive in to the city,park the car ,then worry about traffic leaving. This hotel is very close to the metro with a free shuttle which made it easy to get into and out of DC. The people were pleasant and the breakfast was basic but ok.

Would have preferred some variation on breakfasts since the same each day but covered the basics and decent. Didn't care for AC / heating unit. dials spun round and round with no resulting change in temperature or fan speed. Didn't report it as I wasn't in the room that much. standard type rooms, average breakfast that is certainly fine. Very nice staff that are helpful. Wasn't thrilled that window heater settings couldn't be changed. dials just spinned without changing. Overall fine for value paid.

Great rates for the DC area. Good location, close to major highways & Metro station. Breakfast adequate. room fine , TV was antiquated by modern standards.

There was nothing fancy about this hotel. It was clean, friendly, and reasonably priced for the area. Nearby is the Springfield mall and a shopping plaza with a TGIF. The hotel shuttles you within a 3 mile radius up until 10pm. The Franconia-Springfield Metro stop is within a mile and a half. This is the perfect place for a one or two night traveler […] to commute to the DC Metro area. But it would not suit someone looking to make the hotel a significant part of their vacation. Læs mere

I've had horrible experience with both Hotels.com and this Hotel. I travel quite often and this experience has been the absolute worst. I will not recommend nor will I use the services of Hotels.com, Best Western or any of their sister Hotels

The room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet and convenient. Unfortunately I was directed to the elevator farthest from our room instead of the closest one. Good value and quality. Excellent breakfast!

The hotel is about 20 minutes walk to the Metro terminal but the hotel provides free shuttle in the morning and in early evening till 9:30 pm (I forgot the exact time) or upon request. If you take a cab, it costs you around 6 bucks from the hotel to the terminal of blue line. The hotel is close to a highway intersection so it's a convenient location […] if you are driving to DC. The staff are very nice (keep checking whether everything is ok) and rooms are clean. The wireless network didn't work one night and I called the front desk. They fixed it very soon. Reception service was fast and courteous and room was nice. The main issue I have is that the front door of my room didn't seal particularly well, i.e. when you close the door you can see light leaking in around the edges. If you can see light then obviously you can hear noise and conversations in the hallway and, in my case, conversations from the […] room across from mine. The other minor annoyance is that for some reason the TV has a minimum volume locked in which is pretty loud on some channels. I don't know why they felt like this was necessary. Læs mere

The hotel is clean and the service very friendly for the 5 nights we were there. The shuttle to the Metro was always available in a timely manner and the convenience of getting to the sights was outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

The room was clean and the hotel service was good. The location is very poor as the hotel sits on a corner in the middle of at least 4 major highways and the travel on the main road was very dicey, even the GPS had difficulty managing this area.

Yes this hotel is old but it is well maintained, everything worked and it was clean. The staff is efficient and helpful with the hot breakfast being better than average. During my 6 day stay, I was comfortable and for the DC area, it was a good value. Anyone traveling in the DC area knows the best way to get around is the Metro and the hotel maintains […] an efficient, free Metro shuttle. Having said that, a word about location. The hotel is in the middle of a number of intersecting roads, highways and freeways with a multitude of various lanes, ramps etc. There is absolutely no place to eat within walking distance and although there are many restaurants within 3 miles, finding them can be a challenge. I noticed a number of pizza deliveries when I was there. I used the "around me" feature on my i-phone to find a place to eat and my GPS to find my way back to the hotel. If you are not familiar with the area "winging it" behind the wheel is going to get you lost. This is the reason I downgraded it to a 4! Læs mere

Hotel is in convienant location. It needs a revamp, I have stayed at this hotel several times now and everytime there has been an issue with the elevator. Ammenities are a little dated.

I wasn't super impressed with the front desk or breakfast staff. A couple of times, they seemed more interested in personal conversations or eating food than helping guests quickly. I found the hotel layout a bit weird. The rooms are in a building separate from the front desk and breakfast area--it would have been nice to have them in the same building […] or better connected since it rained during my trip. The breakfast area itself is fairly outdated and again oddly designed. There wasn't a good flow to the choices, and the eggs always looked a bit rubbery. I opted for cereal both mornings I was there. I will say that I was happy the milk was fresh, and I prefer the individual cartons they had rather than the refillable carafes that other hotels sometimes use. The housekeepers were pretty good. I highly recommend this hotel. It is very clean and nicely maintained. It is also close to the Metro and the hotel has excellent shuttle service. They also have an excellent breakfast at no extra charge. It's close to shopping and restaurants and far enough off the road that I didn't hear any road noise. The hotel was ok for the price. The service was great. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The location not so good but they run a free shutle service to the Metro until 9:45pm. If you comeback after that time there are always taxis to take you to the hotel for about $7. On several nights I came back on the last train and there were always taxis […] for anybody who needed them. The nearby Springfield Mall is more than half empty (stores) and a staff member told me it would probably close. I would prefer staying closer to Washington next time but if on a budget, wouldn't mind staying at the Best Western again. If you are going to visit mostly Alexandria, the location is great, just two metro stops away. Læs mere

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at the Best Western-Springfield to tour Washington DC. The hotel was great and very clean. The breakfast was good. The shuttle to the Metro was very convenient and the staff was extremely helpful. It was approximately a 45 minute ride to DC on the Metro. Rooms and breakfast are plain, not great but OK for the price. The real problem is the shuttle for people who are not using a car. There aren't too many restaurants really close by so some people use the shuttle to go in the area (many freeways make walking pretty unreasonable). Be sure to call the hotel before booking to ask about shuttle hours, they […] don't say much on the web site. In the mornings, going to the Metro was no problem because the departure times are set. But coming back at the end of the day, you need to phone in to request a shuttle, and it only runs until 9:30 pm. The shuttle service was a *major* problem on one day. Called from the Metro station at 6:30 and had to wait 1 hr and 10 minutes for the shuttle! And the front desk lady definitely was not managing the situation. If you don't get a shuttle soon you could try jumping on the shuttle for the Marriott Courtyard springfield, which is right across the street. Or the Hilton or the Hampton Inn, which are not that far a walk. Læs mere

My eleven year old son and I stayed 9 days and were very pleased with the hotel. The staff at the front desk was helpful. (Feven-so pleasant ) The shuttle drivers (especially Scott ) were very knowledgeable about the area and the Metro system. They were more than willing to drive us around locally. Being a single mother I felt very safe and secure at […] this hotel. The room was clean and the pool hours were great. They even had a lifeguard on duty at all times. The best part of all was the HUGE complimetary breakfast every morning to start off our day. My son has severe food allergies and he was even able to find items to eat on their buffet...which is very rare anywhere we go ! Hats off to the Best Western Springfield VA ! Læs mere

I have stayed at this hotel several times, the location to DC is perfect, the service was great. when I arrived the refridgerator was not working, within 45 mins they had a new one in place. the breakfast buffet was decent. I would stay here again.
