"Nice place to stay"
The room was lovely. The hallway and hotel needed some updating but our room had a comfy bed! Always the biggest deal! The bathroom was updated and nice and the staff was great. I would stay again.

"Great furniture and room service"
The Ethan Allen Hotel is great for many reasons, one of them being their great furniture. Also room service is quick and the food is delicious. The bedding is luxurious and the rooms have room darkening curtains. A great location. Trader Joe's is right down the street. My favorite Danbury hotel.

I found the hotel to be very clean, polished. The hotels decor was excellent. The grounds landscaping was beautiful. It exuded "higher class" from other hotels of the same price range. My stay was thoroughly enjoyable with the exception of party goers attending a wedding reception being held at the time. "Room service food is great!"
Whenever I travel I pick hotels that offer room service - not the paper plate and styrofoam variety, but real room service. The Ethan Allen Hotel offers that accompanied by friendly, efficient service. And the food is great! It comes nicely plated, hot, and tasting like it was prepared by people who know how to cook! All good. I usually stay in the […] king suite and appreciate the privacy of the living area with the bedroom area in the back. The furnishings are Ethan Allen (naturally) and high quality. "Worn"
The hotel had a good location and a comfortable bed. The TV was a tiny old tube tv that felt very cheap. No desk in the room made it hard to use for business. The carpet and furniture felt very old, used and worn. This gives you the unwelcomed feeling of realizing how many traveler's had used everything before you. "Very pleased"
We enjoyed this pet friendly hotel. Our room was furnished very nicely, service was friendly and the pool was beautiful. No breakfast.
"Spotless and best in room coffee machine."
This has to be the cleanest hotel we ever stayed at. We had a problem with the remote for the tv and within 10 minutes a very nice maintence man fixed the problem which was a switch in the back of the tv. He said when housekeeping moves the cabinets to clean it sometimes gets moved. The Keurig coffee machine in our room was the icing on the cake.

"Old Rennovated Hotel"
The Ethan Allen is an old hotel that has been rennovated. While the lobby and room furnishings are nice and have the Ethan Allen brand name, the TV sets in our "newer more modern room" were ancient. Our carpet did not appear particularly clean, and for a king suite and the price, it was small and ver disappointing. Additionally, at check out I changed […] which card I used to charge the room. "Ethan Allen Hotel"
This was one of my worst stays at any hotel anywhere. The hotel is ancient, Ethan Allen and George Washington must have stayed there. Though the hotel was clean it was old. The bedspread on our beds have been in the room for 30 years. We checked in around 3pm and then attended a family function. We arrive back after 11pm. We couldn't regulate the AC,either […] it ran continuously or when you closed it off the room got terribly hot. We fell asleep but woke up around 1:30am, extremely uncomfortable from the lack of air. Instead of asking for a new room in the middle of the night we checked out and drove home - a 90 minute drive. To add insult to injury. We prepaid our accommodations via Hotels.com but the hotel charged me for both my room fee and a dinner. We incurred no incidental expenses. Now I am trying to get the money reserved out on my credit card. I was extremely disappointed. Læs mere

I routinely stay at the Ethan Allen Hotel and like it very much. It has room service which is a must for me, and an ample menu. The food is great. "Comfortable and pet-friendly hotel"
Really comfortable beds, great service, and excellent place to stay if you have dogs. There is plenty of space behind the hotel to take them for a walk. The room services is fast with good food and very good prices. The only issue we had was that there was not a nightstand on both sides of our bed - that was weird, but my husband "re-arranged" some […] furniture and re-purposed the TV stand since we were staying for a week. "Needs Sprucing Up"
I stay at the Ethan Allen due to its proximity to my business. It is in dire need of an upgrade. Furniture is dated and not particularly comfortable. TV's in the rooms are ancient.

This is my second stay at this location. I am pleased with the comfort and convenience as well as the cleanliness of the room. ***On a humorous note... I asked the front desk at check whether or not the hotel had a bar, I was there on a Saturday. The clerk informed me that yes there was a bar and a realy great band performing that evening. I was thrilled. […] I was greeted to two middle aged men singing. Not exactly a band in my opinion. "Ethan Allen Hotel - What You Expect for the Money"
The pros: The hotel lobby is very nice with very friendly staff, a tray of fresh cookies and a selection of newspapers. The location is very convenient - right off of Rt. 84. I had a large suite with a sitting room and 2 televisions. The room was spotless. The large bathroom had a great selection of amenities. The staff were very nice. The room service […] was good food at very reasonable prices. The cons: The room is fine for the rate per night, but it does need updating. The lighting in the room was poor. "This is only a 3 Star hotel??"
We're always looking for a firm bed when we stay at a hotel and this one was great. The staff were very courteous and helpful and the room was closer to the size of a suite. Well worth the money and close to everything, this hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The gas fireplace just beyond the lobby was a nice touch, too. WE WILL BE BACK!!

"Comfortable"
I rather enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable and clean. However, we were promised a complimentary breakfast Thanksgiving but it was all gone by 9 o'clock. Quite a few of us was left standing around waiting only to be told that the food was all gone. But for most I did enjoy my time at the facility.

"Very nice hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay. We chose this hotel because they accepted pets. They have large areas around the hotel to walk a dog The disappointment came after we left. I realized that I had left my cell phone charger plugged in and sitting on the desk. When I called from home, I was told no one had used the room that day, but they could not find the […] charger. A very nice hotel a bit past its prime, the color tv only had one color and the clicker was ancient.. BUT the room was big, roomy, VERY CLEAN.. QUIET and very close to a McDonald's and 2 gas stations and I84.. I was there for my 40th high school reunion, we enjoyed the bar.. the parking was great, convenient, I would stay there again.

The rooms are dated and worn. The front desk staff was inconsistent in service and hospitality. At times they were just rude.
"Wonderful Ambiance and great Service"
We thouroughly enjoyed our long stay at the Ethan Allen Inn. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The Hotel is beautiful and full service at a reasonable rate. It is located in a convenient place with access to the entire city. We loved it!

Ethan Allen Hotel has the BEST beds hands down. They use their own pillow top mattresses that are quite expensive. If you have back problems this is the hotel for you. The one in Danbury also has a really good restaurant and bar, great food. Loved it.

Beautiful hotel. Intimate settings despite the large size of the hotel. A bit pretentious- gracious conviviality is usually better... Convenient to the Charles Ives concert venue, a lovely theatre... Recommend this hotel

This is an old hotel - I remember when it opened in the 1970's. The rooms are large and furniture was comfortable. Bed linens were very clean. However, there was a musty smell in the room. The carpeting is in desperate need of replacement or a very good cleaning. I saw a bug of some sort, I believe it may have been a silverfish, scuttering across the […] rug. Other than the carpet, the room was clean - bathroom was in good condition. It is located in close proximity to the interstate, restaurants, and shopping. Easy to find. "Reasonable Stay & Service"
I liked the concept of the furniture chain doing a hotel, though I've never bought anything from Ethan Allen. I love that they were located close to the I95 exit and were easy to find after a really long drive. I love that they allow dogs, and got us a room close to an exit where our doggies could relief themselves. Rooms were clean, furniture was […] worn and older but overall had no other remnants from previous pet stays and we made the effort to keep our dogs clean as well. We ordered room service for dinner on a Friday night and though they warned us the kitchen was backed up, it only arrived after we called them to remind them 2 hours later. And when the food arrived it was cold and inedible. However, after mentioning it to the front desk the next morning, they kindly took it off our bill which we appreciated. It was overall a pleasant stay, price was reasonable and I like that they made the effort so I would definitely return if I were in the area again. Læs mere
"Clean, comfortable and a good deal!"
Although I read some mixed reviews about this hotel, I decided to give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did. The hotel is really very nice (pretty lobby, very nice public/general sitting area, small pool but nice, pretty gazebo/patio area) and the staff were very pleasant and accomodating as well. I just glanced in the bar and restaurant and they appeared […] to be very nice as well. Our room was clean and spacious (suite style with pull out couch and TV etc in one area and two double beds with TV etc in other area). The bathroom again was very clean - the only very minor thing I noticed was that the tub could use a little fresh grout around the edge. They have double top sheets that cover the blanket, which I really like. We called for extra towels that arrived wthin minutes. We ordered room service for breakfast that came in like 15 minutes (unheard of) and it was delicious. We also rented a movie and that was very nice and reasonable as well - when you compare to the cost of a theatre. They have a little store/area where you can buy candy, soda machines and ice machines around - - really, just a very nice place and the price was very reasonable.
