It was very easy and inexpensive to get into DC - bus or metro lines. Hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable, and in an excellent neighborhood. The breakfast was no frills (just bagels, muffins, juice, and coffee), but better than nothing!

Great for the price. Park at the Hilton, though. There's no parking near the hotel. Staff was AWESOME!

Considering the location, this was a very good choice for the price. the room is simple, but has all the basic necessities. Staff was very helpful. Nice neighborhood with many historic buildings and embassies.

The hotel was a good price and walking distance to downtown and Dupont Circle. The rooms are a little tired but the location is also good for walking around that part of town which is a little leafier than a lot of downtown areas.

The fact is that many of us are not looking for a resort style everywhere we go, especially if we are spending most of our time out and about in a city. With that in mind, there is nothing overly fancy about this hotel. However, there is nothing overly bad either. Not expensive, easy accessible to the area of museums, comfortable, no parking fee

good location but narrow space and old facilities;however inexpensive fee.

No complaints about this hotel; nothing fancy, but for the price I paid it's very hard to beat. About a 10 minute walk from the metro stop near Smithsonian zoo or 30 minutes walk to Dupont circle.

Place is very outdated, but the location was great for my needs. Nice staff. Clean room and definately clean bathrooms.

We chose this hotel because of the location. The area is great and the hotel was accommodating for location. It was really hard to find parking after 4:30/5:00pm in the area. After driving a long way, the people at the front desk had no suggestions or recommendations. Had a really great experience here. Friendly staff, clean room, great rate, convenient location (lots of food just north of the hotel, plus the zoo and DuPont Circle within walking distance). Would definitely recommend and return again!

quaint, older hotel with small but servicable rooms, right in the middle of the busy zone. only 2 blocks from my conference and $80/night cheaper.

My 8-year-old and I stayed for an extended visit to DC and enjoyed our stay. Not fancy but very clean and comfortable with friendly staff who upgraded us to a suite. Simple but good pastries, juice, and coffee served for breakfast. Beautiful residential neighborhood close to the zoo, subway, and reasonably priced restaurants in Adams Morgan and Dupont […] Circle. This is a nice little hotel I stay when I visit my child studying at American University. It's in a pleasant walking distance from the metro red line, Woodland Park - Zoo station. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Very easy access to AU (Tenleytown), Dupont Circle, Union Station, the Mall, etc. via metro and bus. Numerous restaurants […] between the metro station and the hotel along Connecticut Avenue. Yet, it's in a quiet residential neighborhood. The man behind the counter went out of his way to help me find free parking

I stayed here to study and prepare for an interview. Andre was very helpful, even let me take a chair from the conference room up into my room so I can study. I didnt know they served breakfast, but after it was too late the staff told me about it, and actually went to the back and came back with a bagel, glass of orange juice and cream cheese. Thing […] was I didnt even ask! Another staff member got off the elevator and took the stairs so I could get on it with my bicycle! The room was in great condition despite the age of this hotel. The bathroom was very nice and recently remodeled. The cable had all the music channels. I was able to find on street parking when I needed it so did not have to pay parking. The off-street parking was very inconvenient. After circling the surrounding blocks several times, we finally found a parking space 4 blocks away and parked right at the space opposite the arrow on the no-parking side of the pole. The bumper of my SUV and back tire were within the no-parking space though. I prayed I wouldn't have a ticket in the morning. […] I didn't. It is an no smoking hotel. But as always you're going to have some people who know this, but don't care about other people rights when it comes to getting a good deal. We only endure the smoke smell on the 1st night stay. As for the dirty curtains it wasn't so bad to know that after I turned away. The daybed and master bed squeaked. The bathroom smell of slight mildew coming from the floor under the sink. I brought a can of Glade air freshener for the second day stay. For a quick in/out stay and your expectations are not high-I was not to disappointed only because it was not far from the college dorm my child moved into. Based on other's reviews, I expected a dive but hotel had ac olonial charm to it. Beds were firm, but that's how I like them. AC was adequate but older controls are hard to regulate. Quiet room in quiet Embassy Row with small park across street. Pet-firendly for service dogs. The interior of the hotel was very outdated like some of the reviews mentioned. However, the kindly nature of the staff and management made up for it. Breakfast was sparse, but again it was sufficient to get the day started. My room was quite clean-That is a big deal to me...

As with most things in life, staying at the Windsor Park Hotel comes with pros and cons...but for my purposes the pros outweighed the cons. The Windsor Park is an older hotel and as such, there were no fancy schmancy 21st century bells and whistles (I can't remember the last time I got a non-microchip key at a hotel, the elevator is small and slow, […] and the continental breakfast is simple but adequate: bagels, cream cheese, muffins, and coffee.) It was also in a pretty quiet neighborhood, a good 10-20 minutes from the infamous D.C. tourist attractions, and was a good 5-7 minute walk from two Metro stations on the red line, smack dab in the middle (though there were several restaurants and shops a 5 minute walk away so it wasn't like being in the wilderness.) Of course, this made it a much better deal financially than its downtown counterparts, for the fiscally responsible traveler. There were also two computers on the ground floor with complimentary Internet access, a vending machine for snacks and drinks, and a very pleasant, helpful staff who answered all of my questions and did not hesitate to call me a cab or chat with me in the lobby while I awaited said chariot. All in all, I had a solid experience at the Windsor Park, and would highly recommend it if you're just looking for a comfortable place to lay your head at night and don't mind a minimal amount of schlepping to see the Capitol Building, et al. Bed was sooooo uncomfortable I had to buy a pad to put under mattress pad. Breakfast lousy and no amenities worth mentioning. No place close to get a quick snack or meal. Really weird atmosphere.

Fine if it's much cheaper than nearby options in Dupont, but otherwise weak in lack of operating wi-fi, mediocre coffee/breakfast options, basic decor, and a location that is just in between 2 Metro stations - in other words, not quite near either. For its location overall in DC during peak times, it's worthwhile. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: This is an older hotel so it is not extravagant (rooms are small, the heating/air conditioning unit is not very modern, and some of the bedding looks old and outdated). My room was clean, though, and the bed was comfortable. One electrical outlet didn't work. STAFF: The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, going the extra mile […] to help me when I asked. AMENITIES: The breakfast is not amazing (bagels, muffins, juice and coffee) but it fills you up. No coffee maker in the room, but there was an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer provided. The TV was small, but reception was good and they had a good selection of channels. I did not use the meeting space/available computers, but the wi-fi seemed decent (not super fast, but I could go online without too much lag). LOCATION/PRICE: Great upscale neighborhood with easy access to the Metro and several nearby restaurants/bars. There is a tiny park across the street, and another much larger one about 2 blocks away that you can see from the hotel. The neighborhood was quiet, with lots of people walking/jogging at night, suggesting a relatively safe area. The price was much lower than other hotels in the area. OVERALL: I was here on business, and while I wouldn't call it a "romantic getaway," I would happily bring my wife here (and that's not something I would say about every place I've stayed for business trips). If you're looking for a four star hotel you'll be disappointed, but if you want a nice clean place in a safe neighborhood, you can't do much better than here. I would gladly stay here again. Could have been worse! Flat panel TV. Bedding not great. Bathroom redone. Great location, right between 2 metro stops, Woodley Park and Dupont Circle. Free wi-fi. Good for individuals with lower standards, cheap folks, and single guys looking to save a hundred bucks a night.

Windsor Park Hotel is not luxurious or fancy, but it is adequate, in a beautiful, safe neighborhood with very kind, helpful staff. I stayed in a room with two queen beds with my teenage daughter and we did not feel too cramped. There is a huge closet and a tiny bathroom, a desk, a dresser, a desk chair, a TV and a fridge. That's it. It was clean, everything […] worked and it is in a great neighborhood. It was very plain, but one does not go to Washington, DC to stay in their hotel room. The hotel is about 0.75 miles from the DuPont Circle so it was easy to get to the Metro and find food and there were lots of little fun things to do in the neighborhood if we didn't have the time or energy to go for a big adventure (look at the embassies, Adams Morgan, DuPont, Woodrow Wilson house, the textile museum, the Nat'l Geographic Museum). A review of the hotel is not complete without mentioning how kind and helpful the desk staff was. They were always identifying and figuring out ways to save parking spaces for guests. We needed to be in area close to daughter's internship location , so Kalorama Circle worked for us. It was safe, albeit inconvenient to Metro , with interesting restaurants around. Hotel furnishing, linens, and wall/carpet conditions need refurbishing. Tired and scruffy , linens , although clean, are thinned out from years of wear. Room and bath are […] clean, but dark and dreary all day long. Complimentary continental breakfast was served, sparse but okay. Consists of packaged muffins, bagels danish, orange juice and coffee and whatever condiments , butter, milk etc.., required. Would not stay there again , if I don't need to be in that location.
