Stayed ther many times for business purposes. Hotel is very old and basic and will be ready and renovated next year (scheduled). The hotel is particularly (only) suitable for travellers who must get a flight soon and in middle of the night or early morning or when you arrive in Cairo very late at night. No stay for long time recommended. Reason is that […] Cairo center is far away and the congested traffic and taxis are generally no fun. When arrive late, stay one night and change next day. Better to take hotel shullte as taxis are a hazzle. It is next to the airport. In general the service and staff are extremely good and helpful (especially in restaurant for dining or the ones for drinks at bar), good house cleaning and aiport shullte drivers. However, the reception staff is totally chaotic, non-cooperative and not service oriented in any way. They show no interest in the guests well-being or comfort. Læs mere

For one night, fine. Nice restaurants, shuttle worked well. Room was in poor shape - door lock was broken and took about 45 minutes to fix - all the time they made us wait in the lobby instead of giving us another room. Very well maintained, with good restaurants and breakfast. Good value for the price, convenienrt location if you need to be around the Heliopolis/Airport area.

The only thing positive about this place is it's proximity to the airport. However there are much better places to stay within 10 minutes away including Le Passage directly next door. My only regret visiting Egypt is choosing this hotel on my last night. Our room was filthy, miniscule & although "non smoking" reeked of cigarettes. The twin beds were […] as comfortable as army cots. Hard as a rock & tiny. I'm not a big guy & my shoulders were wider than the bed. I could feel my father breathing in the next bed as they were so close. The restaurant is terrible & incredibly expensive. The lobby has the loudest lounge singers performing that you literally need to scream at the front desk staff when checking in. I've stayed in decent Novotels before but this one is awful. Minibar was dirty and broken. Hotel staff try to inter my room after midnight so as a lady I do't feel safe for the rest of the night. I will not book this hotel again

My room was comfortable and quiet. An easy shuttle ride to the airport in the morning. Like many high volume, high turnover airport hotels this place could use some special attention (e.g. the chairs were spotted, the walls were scratched, etc.). At lhe sheets were clean, the bathroom was clean. I'd be gappy staying here again.

I have now been staying at this hotel over the past 6 year, an average of 15 times a year, I have tried other hotels in Cairo, some cheaper & some double the price,and always return to the Novotel Cairo Airport, it is very convenient with free internet in all the rooms, & free drop off & pick up from the airport every 30 mins,it is a NIGHTMARE to try […] to pick up a taxi from the airport to any hotel,the staff are all very friendly, and I have found that the chef will almost stand on his head to please the guests,the pool is heated , even during the winter & is a pleasure to take a dip, I shall continue to stay there during my trips to Cairo Læs mere

Very convenient for someone who wants to change flight and have some rest or stay overnight within the airport complex. The hotel is quiet although it is located inside the airport.The front desk staff especially "Magdi" were excellent helpful and understanding. The breakfast is amazing and has varieties. The room is nice clean and large. The only major […] drawback is the shuttle collection from the airport. We had bad experience twice although was apologised for. Despite confirming our arrival by telephone and e-mail no one was waiting for us in the airport as promised. The hotel managment should look more into cleanliness. The bathroom was not clean, the coffee mug in the room was not clean, even the hot water served for tea in the breakfast was not clean at all. the hotel was perfect for us. The free shuttle bus to the airport worked very well. A hotel Rep. even met us upon arrival. Very friendly staff.

The biggest advantage is the location close to the international airport and complimentary shuttle bus every 30 minutes.

Great location badly managed hotel. At 9pm they did not have my room ready and I had to fight to get a room and then it was not what I had booked queen bed and not two twins. So all in all wasted upwards of an hour before I had a room. They had overbooked and kept all people following me waiting for long periods of time. Offered me a room without a […] key so I would have to come to get the master key everytime I wanted to access my room. Threadbare hotel, the air conditioning did not work properly so I woke up in a sweat at night. Overall seedy feeling to the place. Pluses the convenience of a free shuttle to and from the airport and free internet access in the lobby. Next time I will try the neighboring airport hotel and see if it is any better. Læs mere

This hotel was close to the Airport but the shuttle bus doesnt work properly, i arrived and waited for 45mins and the shuttle never arrived so at the end i have to take a taxi.

The hotel is not nice at all. It looked stunning on the web than in real life. My room door could not lock. The interior is old and the rooms had a funny smell. The carpets was dirty.

we arrived in the midst of the demonstations of February 2011, when the Internet was shut down. The staff was harried to say the least but they were as helpful as they could be. They allowed many stranded tourists to sleep in the lobby. The food in the bar, restaurants and buffet was great. The rooms were the best we experienced in Egypt. Exited cairo airport, and you get the taxi drivers trying to charge you 80 EGP for a 7 min taxi ride. Ended up paying 25 EGP (although probably could have got this down to 15 EGP) if I was bothered enough. Good quality hotel with nice outdoor swimming pool area. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I had after 4 weeks in Egypt in Jordan, mainly due […] to the larger food selection on offer. All the usuals - bread, jam, cheese, ham + croissants, cakes, juice and numerous hot breakfast options. The room itself was 4-star quality. Decent shower, tiled floors, free shampoo etc, minibar (about £3 for can of beer, £1 for a can of Coke), comfortable double bed, 30-inch attached to the wall, a sofa, and a free bowl oof fruit. Check out was very quick too. Handed them my key, 20 seconds later, thank you. All pre-paid for on hotels.com for £60 - pretty good value. A free shuttle bus goes from the Novotel every 30 minutes. The bus arrived on time and 12 mins later, I arrived at terminal 3 for my flight back to London Heathrow. I would certainly book again. Læs mere

We needed a hotel close to Cairo airport for an early am flight and this was the perfect hotel. Very close to airport and the free hotel shuttle bus to airport is every 30 mins. The staff were helpful. Quick check in and check out. Great free buffet breakfast served early. Room was quiet and clean, a fresh fruit plate greeted us along with bottled water […] (complementary). As with my first time through this hotel, I was upgraded upon arrival to an Executive Suite with no extra cost. The staff was very friendly toward me and made sure I was happy with my stay. Although I was only there for one night this time, I appreciated greatly the attention shown to me. This room had a nicer bathroom than the prior one, but it also […] had a stain or two on the rug. Nothing unbearable, but it's a shame to see the wear and tear on an otherwise excellent hotel. The front officer manager has no customer service skills. Nor is he interested in maintaining Novotel customers. Novotel should review this property and either dump it or re-staff. Period.

Location was great as we had a stopover on our way back to Amsterdam. Room was okay, although requested a non-smoking and obviously it was a smoking floor, the smell permeated the room overnight from neighboring rooms....

After staying at a disgusting "four star" hotel in Cairo, this was a huge relief. The Novotel airport is as close to a Westernized four star hotel as you will likely find in this country. Very clean, two pools, lots of dining options, a great find. A previous review described the hotel as a super 8 with a novotel lobby - pretty much an accurate description. However, for a short stay or transit, you can't beat the place. There is a free shuttle, but you should call the hotel. The buffet's are nothing to rave about, but do the trick.

I stayed at Novotel after a long trip from Rafah Crossing across Sinai, and ahead of an early flight to London the next morning. I was with my two kids. We were exhausted. THe hotel exceeded our expectations-from the friendly and helpful front desk, to the bellboys, to the incredible breakfast-WOW! Not only that, but we had a complimentary bowl of fruit, […] dates, and water waiting for us in the room. The bellboy told me exactly when the shuttle was coming so I wouldn't miss it and came to get me from the breakfast area (which starts at 5am-so you don't miss breakfast if you have an early flight). All in all, we had a fantastic experience and at an unbeatable price-we will be staying here again for sure! Læs mere

My flight got into Cairo at an ungodly hour, and to see the Novotel glowing right across the parking lot was such a joy. The hotel itself seemed pretty well-run. It was comfortable and there were no disappointments or hassles, which is not to be taken for granted in Cairo. The only drawback is that it's a cab ride to get to any of the tourist areas […] -- pyramids, museums, etc. -- but cabs are quite cheap, so that's not the end of the world. This was a good choice. My wife and I were perfectly satisfied. It was great for an overnight before our flight, but would have been fine regardless. We appreciated the fruit plate in our room on arrival, shuttle to/from the terminal was fine, check-in fast and efficient, Italian restaurant was fine, pool was great, everything was clean and comfortable. The only minor deficiency […] was that they had said they'd have boxed breakfasts for us since we had to depart on the shuttle for our flight at 2:30 a.m., well before the breakfast bar was open, and we never saw them (although at that hour we really didn't want them, but they had offered them at check-in); also meant we can't comment on the breakfast bar. This is a good hotel for a stay over in Cairo. Very close to the airport, clean and confortable rooms. Nothing fancy but good for a night stay. The breakfast was adecuate.

I always stay at this hotel a couple nights before my departure out of Cairo. Their rates are always reasonable and their staff is excellent. The rooms are just as clean as a 5 star hotel. Bathroom in hotel room had a cracked sink and the mattress was very hard. Overall, hotel room was clean, entertainment in lounge area was good and the shuttle service to airport ran every half hour.

This hotel is a great location to the Airport convenient for early departures or late arrivals. The pool area is nice they have a couple different dinning options and a friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is a good stay for departing Cairo on next day flight. It is located next to airport and provides shuttle to airport.

The main reason we stayed was that we arrived at 1:00am in a strange city. Novotel gave us a reliable place to stay right at the airport. The room was no problem, it's just sort of a boring boxy place but we didn't look for a resort.

If you have an overnight connection on EgyptAir in Cairo, the airline will likely pay for it. I didn't know this and booked a room at the Novotel ahead of time. I couldn't end up using the room b/c I would have needed a visa to leave the airport on my own. Instead, w/o a visa, I had to use the airline's free accommodation. I arrived late after 10 p.m. and stayed only until 6 a.m. when I had to leave for the airport. People were very nice when I checked in and someone called soon after I got to my room to see if everything was all right. It was clean, comfortable and had a bowl of fruit in the room.
