ventilations anløget larmede så det ikke var til at sove.

Vi havde et dejligt ophold på hotellet, selvom det lå midt i byen med støj fra div. arrangementer og trafik, men med den gode lydisolering kunne vi intet støj høre indenfor på hotellet. En dejlig morgenbuffe blev indtaget i "gårdhaven" på 2. sal. Meget smart og hyggeligt indrettet.

Thon Hotel Cecil ligger centralt nær hovedgaden i Oslo, med let adgang til alle seværdighederne.

Jeg boede på dette hotel mens der var festival ved rådhuspladsen - så placeringen var perfekt ! værelserne er lige tilpas - god morgenmadsbuffet-venligt personale.

Fint værelse, super morgenmad hvor der var nok - også selvom man kom hen mod slutningen. Dejligt med friske aviser (ved morgenmadsbuffeten). Fint med mulighed for at brygge kaffe/te på værelset og tage en gratis kop i receptionen - evt. i forbindelse med brug af pc og internet. Blot 1 minuts gang fra flybussens stoppested.

In Oslos busiest party street. The personell was not helpful at all when we asked for a queter room. If you like noise at night and insomnia, this is the place to book. If you are in Oslo to party, probably a great place to stay.

As it was impossible to get a proper madrass to the third bed I find it very unpleasant service. The picture was that we were going to have a double twinbed room but there was only one twin bed and a small extra bed with a very low madrass. Maybe this was a misunderstanding but anyhow we felt bad for the service that could be offered only by paying […] extra 300 NOK. Breakfast was good but the hall was a little bit too windy for me. Great location!rooms very clean and staff are very friendly!air conditioning cant be controlled in your room and you cant open the bedroom window.but overall i would reccomend this hotel for anybody ,its situated in the heart of everything and rooms are very clean and for the ladies the hairdryer is a proper hairdryer!!so no need to bring one!buffet […] breakfast was excellent every morning and if you have an early check out the reception gives you a little goody bag full of yogurts and juice and fruit to keep you going!so thoughtful!! Loved our stay in this hotel. Nice staff - comfortable and reasonable sized room with kettle, nice TV comfortable beds, desk and armchair. Quiet. Towels were a bit small and the shower door let water out a bit, but the bathroom was nice. Best thing? The breakfast - really generous and a very nice space to eat it in. It is true. The breakfast is every day almost the same BUT its quiet big and you can choose between lots of tasty things. The window of my very nice room was heading the atrium and I could not open it, but I saw other rooms where you can open the windows. Maybe you have to ask for such a room. To check the weather you really have to go out. I slept […] very well and the locality is great and at least for a short stay I would always reccomend this hotel. I booked this hotel for a few reasons with the most important being location. It is in a highly central location not far from Central Station. There are several restaurants and bars within walking ditance. I also got this room due to wanting controllable AC. Don't bother though as the AC was a joke and didn't change temperature no matter how cold you […] set the thermostat. To make matters worse I was on the second floor right next to the elevators to the breakfast area. This meant getting woken up sometimes to people coming in to eat in the morning. There was also a foul smell at the entrance to the breakfast area and outside the elevators. I could not notice it in my room, but it is hard to miss if you are outside the doors. Additionally, I was right over the entrance to the hotel. The recessed can lighting on the first floor in the entrance and lobby area radiates up into the floor of the room causing it to be uncomfortably hot. It would be great in the winter though. There are prostititutes who loiter at the corner and outside the hotel. I was bothered several times by them asking if they could join me. I know this isn't a hotel issue, but they could at least call the police to get them out of the area. On a positive note the breakfast is great and the staff is incredibly helpful to any questions you have. However, due to all the negatives I experienced for the high price I would never stay here again. This hotel may be worth it on a different floor and a working ac. This hotel is in a good location and the front desk was very helpful in answering questions we had about the city. The breakfast was excellent!

The rooms are small, and the bathrooms are tiny. There is hardly any lobby, and no amenities to spend time at the hotel. However, the breakfast buffet is good, and the location is excellent. You have all the important sight-seeing objects within 10 mins walk, and you are spot on the Karl Johan Streen and Parliament Square. Town Hall and Aker Brygge […] is also close by. Parking available in basement, which is great. Not easy to park in Oslo centre. Good alternative for a couple of nights' stay in downtown Oslo. Læs mere

Nice staff, good location near to City hall and the Harbor, good value for money in expensive Oslo. Spent one night at the more costly Radisson Blu Scandinavian, and it was not nearly as nice, frankly. If I were to go again, I would stay at the Thon.

The breakfast buffet was attractive and had a good variety of regional foods. We were a bit taken aback to learn that there was an extra media charge to use the TV.

This is my second time at the Cecil. A good hotel, but a little unusual (in my experience) in that most of the rooms face into an atrium with no outside view, removing you from the city (you look down to the breakfast room and across to offices), and you won't have a clue what the weather is until you go down to reception and look outside. Having said […] that, four rooms on every floor do face out onto the street (Rooms 01 to 04). I was fortunate second time to get one of these rooms which made my stay all the better. The hotel is clean and very comfortable, all fittings are new (at the time of writing) and it does a great Norwegian breakfast (as do all the Thon hotels I've stayed in). The location is great, being on a side street between Karl Johans Gate (the main shopping street) and the harbour - you're literally two minutes' walk from both. Also the street isn't too busy at night - Norwegians stay out late and like to sing - so you can leave the windows open on a summer evening. Oslo is a great city - I've been many times. Make sure you take the metro to Frognerseteren and if the weather's good go to Hovedoya via ferry or to Huk by bus No. 30 to catch up on your tan by the fjord. Læs mere

This hotel is nice and modern, very clean, and with a great location. The staff is nice and will help you right away with your questions or anything you need. They have an excellent breakfast that is free I recommend staying here if you are looking for a decent room in a good location.

I usually opt for location above all else. The Cecil hit the jackpot - 5 mins walk to the harbour, 10 mins to the railway station, 2 or 3 more to the bus station, 3 mins to the Cathedral, Parliament (and bus stop) around the corner. Lots of retaurants and cafes/bars in the area. Otherwise the hotel was everything you expect of a city-centre 3-star - […] competent, non-flashy, somewhat anonymous. The single room was adequate with all the usual bits and pieces. The restaurant is in an imaginatively converted space between a number of buildings. Breakfast was good with a wide range of food - eat well because Oslo is very expensive. My only gripe with the hotel is that the entrance is not actually on Stortingsgaten but around the corner on another street whose name I forget! I travelled as a solo "mature" tourist and I would recommend this hotel as ideal for my purposes. Læs mere

It was really nice that the clerk helped us determine how to catch the train to the airport without paying for a taxi. Also we were upgraded to a better room so it was just a pleasant stay for our 1 night as it should be with a quality hotel.

Everything was fine with this hotel except for two mail issues: 1. at nights you can hear the sound of bars and cafes nearby 2. you have to pay for the wireless internet every night. It means that the price you are paying does not include the internet connection.

Trevligt välkomnande. Litet men mysigt rum. Rent och fräscht. Negativt att inga fönster var riktade utåt. Fantastisk frukost! Perfekt läge för det vi ville ha ut av vår vistelse, mitt i centrum, nära Aker Brygge.

Bra medelklass hotell. Suveränt läge mitt i centrum. Men visst buller i rum mot gatan.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und ist trotzdem sehr ruhig

Σύγχρονο και βολικό ξενοδοχείο στην καρδιά του όσλο σε απόσταση ελάχιστων λεπτών από όλα τα αξιοθέατα, εστιατόρια, καφέ και τον σταθμό των τρένων (National Theater station). Το προσωπικό πάντως ήταν τυπικό και όχι ιδιαίτερα φιλικό και δεν μου άρεσε που μας ζήτησαν εγγύηση 300nok στο check in (μας τα επέστρεψαν χωρίς πρόβλημα στο check out) ούτε που […] στο ασανσέρ είχε ανακοίνωση "απαγορεύεται αυστηρά το κάπνισμα - οι παραβάτες θα πληρώνουν πρόστιμο 1500NOK"! Supert hotell midt i Oslo. Perfekt beliggenhet med kort avstand til Karl Johans gate, Slottet, Aker Brygge for å nevne noe attraksjoner. Flott service hos personalet :-)

Eenvoudig 3 sterren hotel, super gelegen tussen de haven (Aker Brygge) en centrum (Karl Johans Gate). Kleine maar comfortabele kamers, prima ontbijt, maar geen andere services (diner of bar). Redelijk duur voor de geboden services, maar in lijn met andere prijzen in Oslo. Hotel ligt 5 minuten van de haven, het uitgaansgebied Aker Brygge, de boot naar […] Bygdoy (Kon Tiki, Fram, Viking musea etc.), Akerhus slott, maar ook de belangrijkste musea (Historik, National Galary, Modern Art, etc.), het paleis, Radhus, Stortinget parlement, en de winkel straten. GOOD LOCATION, VERY SILENT, VERY CLEAN HELPFUL KIND, GOOD SECURITY... BUT, PLEASE TURN OFF THE TV. IF YOU TURN ON PAY TV BY MISTAKE, YOU MUST PAY 159KRONE NEXT MORNING. PLEASE, BE CAUTIOUS THE TV!

Meget godt fornøyd med min 1st. uke, bor her fremdeles , og har ingen tanker om skifte hotel. Som business hotel fungerer dette hotellet utmerket, flott rom, utmerket renhold, god frokost, og hyggelig betjening. Hva mer kan vi forlange mitt i Oslo sentrum? Med kort vei til det meste. mvh Fra en fornøyd kunde som kommer tilbake.

Hadde en godt opphold i sentrale omgivelser,lite støy fra trafikk,og sov godt,meget bra frokostbuffe,smakfull og variert matvalg.

Veldig greit hotell. God frokost. Kort vei til Rådhusplasssen , Aker Brygge, Karl Johan, Stortinget. Ikke så mange rom med utsikt ( hvis du har behov for det). Vårt rom lå inn mot glassoverbygget atrium. Litt varmt på rommet den perioden vi var der, uten mulighet til å styre dette (aircondition). Ellers fine rom, nylig renovert.

Varmt på rommet selv om ventilasjonsanlegget var skrudd på kjøling.
