Hotel has not been renovated in about 20 years, but the rooms themselves are in reasonable condition. The shower worked and the bed was comfortable. Rooms are large. Bare bones amenities.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice. The only complaint was that there aren't any privacy blinds on the windows. There is a thin white blind that you can see thru from the hallway when the room lights were on & it was dark outside. Not a very private situation.
""Resort" is a misnomer"
This place has certainly seen its better days. The halls and carpeting are dark and dingy. The rooms lack electrical outlets and the room air conditioners are loud and inefficient. This was our first visit to Midland. Lovely city and loved the downtown area. Midland Resort was a disappointment and misleading description of the hotel. The check in staff was friendly. He did not mention any of the amenities or location of the advertised amenities that made it a "resort"! We wandered around and found a large bar with bar food. No […] open restaurant that I believe, was mentioned in the description of this "resort". No mention of the hot tub and we did not find it!!! Our room was ok except for the bathroom door that was warped (appeared to be water damaged) and would not close completely. Security was our biggest concern. Entering an outside door from the parking lot : sign on the door stated "Need a room key to enter hallway from 11 pm-7am" and the device needed to activate room key was badly mangled and clearly inoperative! We had stayed at 2 other hotels in Midland MI prior to finding the Resort. Once introduced we never looked back. The price is the best, it is clean, and conveniently located for shopping. There are some nice amenities; pool, childrens' play area, restaurant, and bar.
"Perfect price"
good price for visiting old college friends. no contential breakfast but mcdonalds is right down the street. hot tub closes at midnight but asked to leave at 3 am as long as you are not loud is a good deal. overall stayed here plenty of times and will continue to do so

The Hotel location was great for the soccer weekend it is very close to the soccer field. The rate was ok, not to high compared to other hotels in that area. The room looked like we were in a steak house the wall were brick and the back window where our room was located we could see the staff walking around to diff areas of the hotel so I didn't want […] to leave the curtains open for everyone to stare in our room. The first night there was ok but since we were put close to the conference center we could hear all the noise from that area and on the first night there were lots of kids running around screaming, the second night there was a wedding and after the wedding most of the wedding party had rooms in out hall so they were yelling and screaming and being so loud. This "resort" was built in the 60s/70s and back then, it was considered a true "resort." Now, it's just an old building with out dated systems and features and will disappoint you when you arrive since the standard of hotels is much nicer than this place. We just spent one night. The hotel was adequate, nothing too special. Pleasant staff, reasonably clean room. Moderately comfortable bed. Loud AC unit.

We were in town to cheer on our team. Nice affordable stay w/ pool and much needed Hot tub. We would stay here again. Nice area.

This hotel needs a serious facelift and structural renovation. I hope someone will take on the project and fix the place up as its a great location. The employees are all friendly and helpful and are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

This hotel is not worth your money or health. The rooms were discusting. A group of us stayed here and here are a few of the problems- Roches, electric going out, toliets not working, door handels breaking off pool not checked for PH balance and the coustomer service was horriable. The carpets were stained and not enough towels for each room. Breakfast […] not that good. Former Holiday Inn so the location is great. In need of renovation which according to staff should start in the next couple of months. "what you shpuld expect from a no name "resort""
To begin with... I have stayed at a "resort" before and this place is anything but. The nicest associates were the housekeepers who actually knew how to get things done. After telling the associate at the front desk multiple times that our air conditioner was not working, was forced to be very loud and vocal with the next associate to either fix the […] air conditioner or give us another room. The first first associate was apparently very forgetful in telling the only maintenance person that the air conditioning was not working input room. I happen to be an HVAC technician on vacation and felt very insulted to have someone tell me how to diagnose an issue after which I told them what the problem was. I WILL MEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! We have stayed at this motel while visiting family in Midland for a number of years. the first few years it was a Holiday Inn which was well run. Then it became Midland Resort. This LAST stay was something wrong every night! !st night: no privacy curtain; wine stain on sheet; Finally gave us a different room 2nd night:: sink faucet leaked; no soap or […] drinking glasses 3rd night:leaking faucet sink and tub;bed unmade, no soap or glasses. 4th night: no glasses, soap or shampoo. I'd give this hotel a 4 or 5. On the one hand, the price was right, but on the other hand, you get what you pay for. I was kind of wishing I had booked us somewhere else. Even if it cost me $25 more... The hotel needs some updating. We were there a very short time, and we all slept well, so it was ok. But just ok.

Great hotel to stay at in the midland area. Not far from beaverton and gladwin. Clean and comfortable rooms, clean pool and hot tub. Older hotel, you mostly can't tell though. Modern lobby and confrence area. Great for family.

"Hotel needs some plumbing repairs"
This hotel is in a great and easily accessible location close to the downtown area. Some major attention needs to be directed to the plumbing structure however. Toilets have to be double flushed. Our first room the toilet didn't flush at all and the sink failed to drain. We were relocted into another room but the toilet still requires double flushing. thin walls. Could hear people talking - but this was more RUDE guests than hotel conditions. Kids running up & down halls screaming. Guests talking & closing doors loudly @ 5 in the morning.

"Creepiest hotel ever!"
At first, the hotel seemed nice and clean. The lobby was bright and cheery. When we got to our room it was clean but old and everything leaked. We looked through the hotel guide and saw there were two restaurants in the hotel. However, both were closed and looked like they were closed for a while yet we were not told this. Then, I had to print something […] off and I saw the hotel listed a 24 hr business center....but the front desk said that this did not exist. Also, the hotel was basically empty which make it creepy to wander around in. Then, when I went to sleep not only was the room very creepy over all, we were in a room next to the interstate and the noise was horrible. Overall, it was a terrible stay. "FUN WEEKEND"
We had a good time , was lots of fun for our two childrens.Very clean, everybody was nice .I can't wait to come back again.

There were buckets all over the halls, the hot tub jets were not working the roof was leaking into the hot tub. Our room was smoke free even though it smelled like someone just lite one up.

I was suprised to see that what appears to be an older hotel from the outside was very clean and fresh smelling on the inside. We had a one bedroom suite and it seems that there have been upgrades and it is maintained well. Once discovered, when visiting Midland, we have stayed in this hotel. It is cheap and cheerful. Chose king bed or 2 doubles. Also available are very nice suites. "The Midland Resort"
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire place. Beautiful pool area with a kids play area. There was a pool tournament going on when we were there and it was still surprisingly quiet all night. We will definitely be coming back with our kids to take a little vacation....great price on the room also.

It was a good price, but you get what you pay for. The beds were very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The hot tub was too hot to use and the pool was very shallow. (maybe 4 ft at most). Hallways had an odor. The layout of the rooms was good and service was nice. The rooms were fairly clean. We still had a great time and made the best of it.

"Midland Resort off M-10"
I was incredibily disappointed. The website showed only it's most recent updates and accommodations. I requested a single room with a king-size bed and was given a single room with two full-beds. The room wasdark and dingly. It felt dirty and old. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and the sheets were itchy. I was so wearyof staying there […] I even checked for bed bugs. The only reason I stayed was because I checked in after 10pm and thankfully checked out at 8am the next day! I don't think I could have stayed there for any longer than I had too. Læs mere
