Hilton San Francisco Downtown/Financial District - San Francisco

Ok but not fantastic. Other Hilton experiences have been better. Elevators did not work when I had to leave for the Airport. Not good when you are on 24th floor.

Helt fantastisk hotel. Kan ikke sætte en finger på noget af betydning. Sørg for at bestil med Bay udsigt. Det hele værd. Nye lækre værelser og bad, stor fladskærm, lækre senge, skrivebord, hurtigt trådløst WIFI. Gå afstand til Pier 39 (sæler og mole), Pier 33 (Alcatraz afgang), havneområdet med tour-busser og lige midt i Downtown. Masser af spisemuligheder […] i de omkringlæggende blokke. Loved our night at the Hilton! The room was clean and modern, with some of the best hotel pillows- ever. The only downside was a very noisy a.c. unit which I let the front desk know about the next morning. If you want to explore Chinatown, North Beach or the Union Square area, this hotel simply rocks!

Reservation was wrong even after I called to confirm before we arrived. Thermostat didn't work in room. Staff was friendly and helpful in correcting everything and overall stay was good.

The hotel and neighborhood are great and a fun experience. The bar/restaurant is also cozy and inviting. We had two frustrating experiences: 1) We were checked into my mother-in-law's room (they didn't look at the first name on the reservation and my husband's first name and realize they were different). This caused confusion with other charges made […] to the room. 2) A friend ordered a bottle of champagne with a personal note to be delivered to our room, which never made it to EITHER room. This frustrated me most of all. If careful attention was paid and/or simple follow-up was conducted, both of these could have been avoided. The staff was very helpful! We needed more hangers and they brought them up right away. The room was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a bit more closet space, though. We also didn't like the sliding door on the bathroom. They probably did that to keep the door from hitting the closet. But it was kind of hard to slide and couldn't […] be locked. You could also see into the bathroom through slight gaps between the wall and the sliding door. The sliding door had a large frosted-glass window in it, which allowed light from the bathroom to enter the sleeping area. The light bothered my wife once when she was trying to sleep and I was in the bathroom. The shower head didn't work properly at first. Almost no water came out of it. I ended up taking it apart and found an o-ring stuck inside the mechanism. After removing the o-ring it worked great. Don't know why the o-ring was in there. Maybe to restrict the water flow? We used the computers near the front desk a lot. They mostly were fast and worked well. A couple of times I couldn't get on the internet, but usually I could. Also, the printer worked great. Very fast, with high quality printouts. The location was perfect for us. We mostly walked everywhere. Overall, we had a great time and are glad we decided to stay at the Hilton. Læs mere

We needed help to set up a car rental, and we got timely, efficient and good service from the hotel concierge -Joel-. It is nice when hotels have the basics right -like a good concierge- instead of investing in even larger flat screen TVs.

The hotel sits at the edge of Chinatown and Little Italy in the finanical district. The bus line stoped at the restaturant next door and the cable cars stop was about 4 blocks. The Chinese restatuant offered Amaerican breakfast next door for 5-6 dollars much better price than the 25.00 for the breakfast buffet. The staff found out it was our 25th wedding […] anversary and sent up champhane and cheese and Fruit. (Thanks Joels and entire staff). We had a light blown out and I went to front desk to report- by the time I got back upstairs the guy was knocking at our door to come in and fix it. We were very happy. Has slinding bathroom door that others mentioned- but it was fine with my husband and myself. Would have been nice if breakfast had been included or the internet but SF is very pricey. Parking is also very expernsive but you don't really need a car. Læs mere

The outside of the hotel and the lobby look nice but once you step off the elevator the hallways look dingy and the rooms are nothing special. My family and I all had sore throats and stuffy noses from the air system. The ceilings are that funky popcorn texture. The location isn't that great either. Really good location for sightseeing, walking to breakfast at the ferry building and going to Chinatown. Smallish rooms but bigger than I expected given the major city downtown location. Park overnight across the street to avoid the huge parking costs from the hotel.

I love the location of the hotel, it is close to everything, but far enough from the heavy tourist zones. The concierge was helpful in getting us a rental car for the day and booking last minute tickets to Alcatraz. This hotel is in a great location, not too mention if you go ahead and spend the extra cash and get the executive level rooms with bay view you won't be disappointed. Overall the only thing was we find a dirty rag in the bathroom, but we think it was used for cleaning. Only other problem was that we showed up at exactly check in time and the room needed […] to be clean. So we sat at the bar for 45 minutes and had a couple cocktails. My husband had a wonderful time during our stay in San Francisco. The hotel is in an ideal location- between Chinatown and North Beach. It's also within walking distance to the bus stops and cable car stops. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit San Francisco.

Great views, small rooms! The receptionist gave us the wrong room keys, had to take the tired fam back down and wait for the right keys. I'd go back.

I was pleased with the courtesy and helpfulness of everyone I came into contact with at this hotel. The rooms were clean and well cared for. We have stayed here once before and also had a great time and similar experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future. My only complaint would be the price of parking my car during the visit. I never […] took the car in or out during our trip so I did not use the valet services that were available when I paid for valet. Perhaps there could be a general parking fee at a lower rate for those who just want to park their vehicle and do not need to take it in and out during their stay. I hope this helps! 1. Hotel is listed under Financial District. But it is not, It is located between China Town and North Beach. Its listing creates false notion of location. 2. The hotel charge premium because of the name, but it is 3 star hotel at the price of 4 star. 3. Comfort: not much better than 3 star hotel. It is noisy, I had to request change of room because […] I could hear almost everything from next room, this was 7th floor. Moved to 9th floor, still same problem. The bathroom door was a sliding door and didn't quite cover the entrance to the bathroom, so there was always a small gap on one side or the other of the door, which wasn't good because there was no exhaust fan. 2. The window had a spring-loaded shade instead of curtains, so to keep the students in the community college building across the street […] from seeing into the room, one must pull the shade down completely, which blocks the view of the Bay. The most annoying event of my stay was the clogged drainage of the bathtub;by the time you finish your shower you are standing in anckle deep water. I wonder how the housekeeping staff manages to clean the tub properly and why doesn't report it to the Maintenance Department. Food & service at the restaurant were very dissapointing:chicken looked microwaved […] and it was very hard & dry. There was only one floor waiter having already a table of 10 & 5 booked!! Apparent lack of security at the main entrance since an unsavoury street character managed to sneek into the restaurant.....the female bartender had to call security so this character could be escorted out of the premises.
