We were a bit disappointed with several 'little things': the first room we were given smelled awful (humidity) and, while they eventually offered us a different room, at first they said they were fully booked (it's only when I mentioned I was pregnant and nauseous that they managed to find us a different room). One night there was a power outage. Our […] room keys kept getting demagnetized. On at least one day, the cleaning service didn't sweep the bathroom floor (there was hair as my friend and I both have long hair). Location is great. Closer to resturant and train station

My only two issues are the $29 a night for parking and excessive cost for wifi, other than that great experience.

Womderful location, helpful staff, yummy breakfast, comfortable room. Perfect size and accomodations for a family of 4. Room with a bay view was worth the extra charge. Definitely will stay again!

Nice hotel directly across Seaport Village and the Ocean. Great for families.

My family and I love the hotel so much esp.my kids,they love the pool, the environment is clean,my husband love the cocktails,I love the location and the complementary breakfast.Its walking distance to the tourist attraction,walking distance to the restaurant's..Iwould recommend this hotel to anybody..Love love love...

Had our 3 grandkids. Great free breakfast from omelets, to hot oatmeal. Free Happy Hour inc. fruit,veggies. They really keep kids on their priority list. Had clown to make for kids in a.m. Check in and out was easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was booked for the night and very busy. Delays in getting room for over 1 hour. They did comp us with starbucks certificate and free meal at restaurant. Hotel staff very nice. Train was very loud at about midnight with whistle blowing, we worried it would keep on going throughout night but we did not hear it again. Breakfast was very packed and […] the food was okay. I had an ok stay at the Embassy Suites downtown San Diego. I chose this hotel as there was a rate that included parking and the rooms had a mini refrigerator inside. Pros Large room with microwave and refrigerator Location is great Cons The hotel feels dated and worn. My room had mismatched furniture and finishes and was just tired. I think a cat […] was recently in the room as my allergies were bad here The hotel valet service can't keep up. It's 30.00 per day for parking and I waited from 5-15 minutes. They work hard but can't keep up. Plan extra time and money for this. There were large crowds of people for breakfast and evening drinks. So many that I stayed away from this. This hotel attracts alot of children and the place just feels beat up. I also had an issue at front desk who didn't believe my rate included parking so I had to argue and prove this. I booked here on Hotels.com and they apparently weren't aware of this rate plan. Next time I'd try the Hyatt or other nicer hotels for the money. Worse is trying to reach the valet or front desk by phone. Usually it went to someone's voice mail as staff can't keep up. I was on hold 10 minutes for valet and gave up to walk down and get in the long line. Læs mere

Our family of 5 stayed in Embassy Suites for 2 nights (2 double beds, large sofa bed in lounge). Not very roomy for such a large group, but sufficient. Check in and out was very smooth. Hotel breakfast included in rates was great. Location was within walking distance to Gaslamp area and restaurants. Great views to the Bay from the room, though we were […] out most of the time. Valet parking costs an extra $29 per day. However, I found valet parking here to be a little inconvenient. Due to the large number of vehicles, we would have to wait between 5 to 15 mins or more. Once, we requested our car before we had breakfast, and the car had not arrived even after we finished breakfast. Not good when you are rushing to go to the airport and a hassle when you go in and out a few times a day. We came to visit our daughter who had been staying in Hillcrest for 2 months (she joined us in Embassy Suites when we visited). We did notice that in Hillcrest, there are many more restaurants, and for some reason, quite a number of those restaurants open till 3 am !! Most of the restaurants near Embassy Suites seemed to close much earlier (9pm mostly?). Having travelled to 25 countries, I always consider the lack of a kettle in US hotels to be puzzling and a major inconvenience. The coffee makers provided in some US hotels are cumbersome and not suitable for tea drinkers or those who simply want to drink a warm cup of water. Læs mere

This hotel was okay. The air conditioner did not work so all night it was very stuffy. The shower head ran so there was water all over the bathroom floor the next day after showers.

Very convenient location for the city. great breakfast and happy hour service. comfortable rooms. Very reasonable price for weekday event.

This hotel was nice and clean, and the breakfast was good too. Its located in the hussle and bussle of the downtown area, so a little busy, but right across the street from the water. The cost for overnight valet parking is a bit extreme, considering there is no Self-Park, but the price seems to be the norm around there. My family and I had a pleasant […] expierence there. Enjoyed our stay! The nightly reception and breakfast buffet are always top notch!

The hotel was very close to the gas lamp district and shopping. Beautiful view of the ocean. I would absolutely stay here again!

Was a little far from the convention center, not as convienent as I was told. I got home late one night to find that they had the water turned off. I received a note under my door sometime after 7 pm which stated sorry for the inconvience but it was going to be turned off for approximately 3 hours, so upon my return I couldn't use the restroom, nor […] shower. This place was incredible. Location was perfect, room was huge, staff was super friendly and helpful, free breakfast food was great as we were traveling as a family. The indoor pool was perfect too, as it cools down outside quite a bit this time of year.

Site did not inform of $29 a night parking fees. Toilets very loud. Took lukewarm shower. Breakfast has great variety and convenience but pancakes cold. Had no TV for part of stay and took 15 minutes to figure out how to operate it. Room great for a family. Enjoyed having a living room, 2 tvs and 3 sinks.

Nice hotel with great price ,breakfast was included which was great and every night reception for drinks and vegetables and snacks was included in price which made it a great .

Service was above what we ever expected! Food and drinks were great. Room was clean and comfortable and the location is also great. I have nothing bad to say.

We just got back from San Diego and had a wonderful stay at Embassy Suites. We would certainly stay here again. Great location to everything!!! Keep up the good work!!

What a great location. Easy checkin and close to the gaslamp district. Want to have a great time in downtown San Diego, stay here. Great bayview room and the cocktails in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning was great.

The only aspect I did not account for was Parking, the only parking available is Valet.

We celebrated Christmas with my adult children in San Diego 12-23-12-29,2011. We thought we would enjoy the breakfast each morning but it was a zoo trying to get our breakfast not to mention very unsanitary. It desparately needs some organization very long lines and crabby attendants. Management also choose to change the TV's and furniture at this time […] leaving less elevator space and mass confusion in the halls with TV's and furniture about. I never had my room cleaned, the maid service was very slow and so I made my own beds and changed my own linens for the 7 day stay. Parking was very expensive and I found the front desk employees to be very rude. I loved the location but will not stay there again. We go to San Diego 2x a year to see my daughter perform. Læs mere

Hotel was at a great location. However the indoor pool water temperature was chilly. In fact, many of the children( and adults) including our own did not want to get into the pool. They prefered the hot tub which was the temperature that the pool should have been. I told the front desk and they had a maintinance guy check it out. This was a great place to stay in San Diego. It was close to everything, Seaworld, Zoo, Legoland, etc... The hotel was in great condition, the rooms were clean and the staff very friendly. They had a small store that had a few of the things we had forgotten. At night they have a happy hour with free drinks and snacks. This is a very nice way to wind […] down the night. The only annoying thing were the USC law students that got to come enjoy the happy hour as well. It wasn't a big deal, but there were quite a few of them. But overall, very happy with our stay. They have taxis that wait outside to take you wherever you need to go at a reasonable price. Also there is a car rental place very close and the hotel can have them come pick you up. You are also a block away from Seaport Village. It is a very nice little place with shops and some pretty nice places to eat. You are also only a few blocks from the Gaslamp district. The location is great and the room was pretty nice. I liked the free breakfasts and also used the weightroom. The only thing I didn't like - there was an old TV in the room, along with a nice flatscreen one. Next day the old TV was gone but they left a bit of a mess in the TV cabinet. Locals just getting away for the night and enjoying San Diego---location is great. Only downside is $29 for parking per night---really?
