Super dejligt Hotel tæt på det hele: Gode løberuter, dagligvarer, cafe og underground, og ikke mindst shopping. God service og gode værelser. Hvis du er ny i London så vælg May Fair og tag hop on og off bussen der starter uden for døren og kom på god sight seeing rundt i byen.

Fint hotel med super placering i May Fair. Gratis internet på værelserne, men alt for dyr morgenmad. God restaurant på hotellet og hyggelig bar med gang i den - især i weekenden.

There are very good points about this hotel and less good points. If you want to be located in May Fair and you plan to use metro, bus and taxi transport in a combination, the May Fair hotel is an alternative to the Ritz. Five minutes walk from Green Park tube and Piccadilly. However compared to other hotels in the top legion, I think the May Fair is […] in the lower part of the five star scale, It cannot compete with hotels like the Ritz, the Claridges or the Connaught, if you want this old English opulent luxury feel. But if we take the prices of theses hotels in consideration the May Fair is generally more cost effective. This provides a fair balance. We received a very good service when we arrived. We were early around 9.30 am and had no problems with the check in. The room was ready for us even this early and no fuss about it. Friendly reception staff. The room was spacious, clean, a little on the minimalist interior style. Internet connection through the TV if you don't have a computer with you but they charge for this which I find quite irrate. They do provide ordinary products for the bath room. This is still quite common among many five star hotels so the May Fair shouldn't be blamed specifically for this. But in the future I think that five star hotels will have to change their policies in this field towards high quality products like sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoo. We didn't try the breakfast because this was ridiculously expensive and there are so many local cafe's in the area. It wouldn't be fair to say that the breakfast over-charge is a specific issue related to the May Fair hotel. These days many five star hotels have a ridiculous over-charge on the breakfast and if they do not produce an outstanding quality, such as 100% organic ingridiences and/or a exquisite experiental design/service, I find that I often prefer to use the free market in the local vicinity to secure me a better deal and this was easy here due to the location. Hotellet er helt moderniseret og fremstår helt i top. Service i såvel reception som i restaurant og bar findes ikke bedre. God morgenmad. Og så ligger hotellet bare perfekt i forhold til transport rundt til det øvrige London. Eneste mangel - badetøfler.

godt velbeliggende hotel med generelt fin service

Selvom hotellet har en særdeles god beliggenhed for shopping i London City med en efter forholdne rimelig værelsespris, - er selv forholdsvis almindelige opholdsomkostninger som morgenmade dinner og især drikkevarer forholdsvis høje. Logestik omkring styring af borde og servering i restaurenter virkede også rodet, uklar og langsom.

Godt hotel gode værelser. Dog meget larm i barene på hotellet.

Et 5 stjerne hotel som virkelig lever op til mine forventninger, og endda lidt mere. Stort værelse med alt hvad dertil hører af kæmpe seng, arrangement med behagelig stole og spisebord, spejldøre i garderobeskabet 2 m bredt + lækkert badeværelse med badekar, stor bruseniche, og 2 håndvaske. Kan anbefales.

heating system didn't work in room, cold air was being pumped in. Problem resolved at midnight when they changed my room. Housekeeping found a condom in room and put on night table. Thoughtful but not mine. Very good location but this stay had its problems.

-Hotel is nice. -Beds are a little too firm. -Rooms are tiny. -Hallway noise is really bad. Probably the biggest killer for me. I am a very deep sleeper and still had trouble staying here. We actually left a day early because of it.

We fully appreciated and used the concierge service for booking restaurants, shipping items back to the states & help with printing our boarding passes. Classic old school hotel. Perfect location.

Of course, you can find more expensives hotels in London, but this hotel is incredible for the money, location and services. I love the concierges services..so personal and willing to please us, especially Jeremy..the gym was nice and the location amazing....i consider this hotel myb home in London..ah, food was great, and service was great...

We stayed 10 nights and had a good experience. The location is superb. The staff is plentiful and exceptionally helpful. However, hotels.com claims this to be 5 star and it is in no way that (a problem we often have with the site). We expected more than what we got - had we expected a 4 star property we would have been fine. Examples: no newspaper, […] no individual amenities (soap & shampoo are in dispensers attached to the wall), decor is quite ordinary, rooms & restaurant...Showers are great. We had a fabulous stay. Great location (right opposite Nobu) - 5 mins to Bond Street. Clean, spacious room. Helpful staff.

I was told a superior room was spacious however when I arrived i found it to be small to average. I was there for a 3 night stay so decided to upgrade to a suite for extra space. It turned into a very expensive stay.I would not visit again.

Amazing hotel with the most frendliest and helpful staff i have ever experienced. Booked a night as I was proposing to my girlfriend and they tailored to are every need and we both agreed it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Will definatley come back again. Amazing!

It is pricey compared to American hotels, but all London hotels are higher priced and generally have no consistent standards. This one has spacious rooms, excellent customer service and a great location.

Overall very good. Would have liked a bit more space in the room. Nice location. Staff very helpful.

clean, great location, great service. minor difficulties with room-no light, no electric plug but it was remedied. Service was so-so. Half the staff had an attitude. It was very expensive but I figured we saved money on the location and the time we would have had traveling in cabs. However, it is a pricey hotel, even for London.

The May Fair is a nice hotel but is not as good as most of the others hotels in its price bracket. Location is good, staff are very polite and welcoming.

We celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversay and things could not have been better at this hotel. We had a superior room upgrade that made our stay even better. We also enjoyed the bar and the casino. would recommend this hotel if you plan a stay in London.

I recently stayed at the May Fair with my wife and two children. Although the hotel is geared for upmarket clietelle and business people, we experienced relaxed and professional service. The room service, bar attendance and restaurant was superd. I shall definately return.

Was very much looking forward to staying at the Mayfair once again, and booked it specifically over other options. We were very disappointed and the Mayfair appears to be resting on its once very fine laurels. We won`t be returning but will check it out once in awhile as far as the lobby and restaurants at least for the next say, 2 years, while we stay […] elsewhere to see if the Mayfair can get back on track to what it used to be. Issues - On entering the lobby - the doorman who always was very cheery and helpful had disappeared on a Sunday evening. Later in the stay, a doorman appeared. The smell of a very heavy unpleasant scent hung over the lobby and remained during our 3 day stay, added to that the music was much to loud to set the tone of the place as it used to be. Overall, a very unwelcoming feeling every time one entered the lobby. Breakfast provided has gone down in quality and options. Much fewer buffet options which used to be a highlight at the Mayfair. A sense of cutting back pervaded the hotel. Hall corridors and carpets were worn in places and looking threadbare in some. Again not one would expect from a hotel such as Mayfair. Room was OK, just. Smallish with again a carpet that needed replacing, grouting missing in the bathroom and again in general a feel that the best days were gone and it all needed a good refurb and shake up. Pricing remained on the high side which is acceptable if in keeping with the property itself. This is not the case at the The Mayfair any longer and so will have to book elsewhere until it gets its act together once again and hopefully it returns to being one of the best in London. Læs mere

Best hotel! I would recommend this to anyone. Outstanding walking location to parks, monuments, tube, nightlife...everything. Royal service and care given to every guest....from the rich and famous to our family traveling for leisure. We book the family room. It was spacious and very comfortable for four. Quick check in, room available on arrival at 9am, lovely large room with 1st class bathroom, housekeeping excellent, friendly staff, breakfast fine with exception of porridge which was not great. Would definitely stay again.

I had to stay at three different 5-star hotels this time, The May Fair, InterContinental and Hilton Park Lane. The May Fair had the best location to everything, even though the others were only 500 meters further down the street. You have walking distance to Picadilly and Leicester Square, you have good restaurants right across the street, a couple […] of minutes to Bond Street and shopping. The Picadilly Line tube station Green Park is right outside the hotel, it takes about 55 minutes to Heathrow, without having to change trains, which was very good. My room (regular room on 8th floor with no view) was very big for being a London-hotel. The bathroom was enormous with both bath tub and shower and place for two persons. There was a built-in LCD TV by the bath tub (!!) which was cool. If I have to complain about anything there were 2 things: First the internet didnt work, they had two different wireless connections and one with cable, but they couldnt manage to get any of them to work. (The May Fair had free internet, both Hilton and InterContinental charges about 20£ per day) The second thing was the bed, when I first sat down on the bed, it sounded like it broked down. When I looked under the mattress, the wood had released itself from the sides, so it was basically breaking down. It was easily fixed though, but maybe one should require more from a 5-star hotel, I dont know. And if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not right next to the elevators. Læs mere

The hotel was very clean and most of the staff were helpful and friendly. We did change our room as the first roomwe had was very dark but the staff were very accommodating and moved us to the other side of the hotel where the room was much better. The Mayfair bar has a great atmosphere and the cocktails are very good! The location is ideal as everything […] is walking distance from the hotel. The concierge advised us on some restaurants and we ended up in a lovely little Italian place. Overall a very nice hotel and I would definitely recommend and i would stay there again. Læs mere

The hotel was very, the beds were very uncomfortable. Was not worth the money we paid though, very expensive for a very average hotel

This hotel is an excellent position for west end shops etc however the hotel was left wanting in the quality of our room and service. We had booked a family room which only had a very small shower room and no bath, very little space to put toiletries etc. No dressing table in the room. Our room was a little dusty round the edges, dirty cups were not […] taken away or replaced when the room was made up, the tea and coffee were not replenished and there were no biscuits and only ghastly UHT milk pots. The bar fridge was not plugged in. Breakfast was fine but expensive, unfortunately the dining room is not big enough for the hotel, so it is rather pot luck as to whether there is a table for you, otherwise you may have a 20 minute wait in the foyer. Unacceptable in our opinion for a five star hotel. In a nutshell I am sure there is better value for money elsewhere. Simply not good value for the money. Læs mere

The stay was pleasant, hotel clean and well maintained, but the room allocated was the furthest possible from the reception which was a bit annoying. Also for the size of the hotel there were only 3 lifts and 1 of these wasn't working so this meant we had to use the stairs on most occassions. The cost of drinks was rediculous but expected for a hotel […] of this type. I probably wouldn't stay here again mostly because for a short weekend stay in London it is just a bit too far walking distance fro the shops and WestEnd. Læs mere

My friend and I stayed at the Mayfair for 4 nights for a London getaway. The hotel is hopping yet the rooms are quiet and comfortable. They have 2 very sophisticated bars and all service was excellent. You are in the very best area with tons of great shopping and sights in walking distance. Stay at this hotel!

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. The staff were polite and helpful. There was some discrepancy over the breakfast as i had ordered a full breakfast for us both yet the hotel had not got a record of that but it was soon rectified. The hotel corridors are beautiful and it feels 5*, however the room was not quite so luxurious. […] The room was a superior king sized room. It was spacious but lacking in the little luxuries that make a hotel 5*. The bathroom was less than average. It was tiny, the sink was cracked and the cover of the tissues was broken so they kept falling out. I was very disappointed with the bathroom. The breakfast the following morning was very very busy and we had to wait to be seated. The service was very slow and we had to wait a long time to be served. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however i have stayed in far superior 5* hotels in London and this would not be my first choice next time. Læs mere

The Mayfair apparently attracts quite a lot of celebrities who like staying there, but unfortunately I did not come across any during my stay there. Not that I was hoping to meet any celebrites of course, but that would have been a bonus. =) Just staying at this hotel at times makes you feel a tad celebrity-ish though, as there quite often is a bunch […] of people at the front door trying to catch sight of celebrities or just waiting for people before they head to the Mayfair bar or something. Location-wise, this hotel is fantastic. A short 2 minute walk to Green Park tube station which is just around the corner; which has 3 lines running through it, thus you can get pretty much anywhere in London pretty quick and easily. It is also just about 2 blocks or so from Bond Street, where you can shop for just about any brand, and this shopping street links you up with Oxford Circus for even more shopping once you reach the end of bond street. Also, it is very walkable from Mayfair to Leichester Square, where can catch all the musicals every night. (Just about a 15 minute walk away) Great value for money if booked early through Hotels.com, but believe would be quite pricey for last minute bookings. As soon as I arrived I was made to feel welcome. I went there as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend as soon as The receptionist saw that I had brought my own mini champagne and cake, she offered to have somebody to set it all up for me. From the moment we came we find ourselves facing a problematic service that is not typical for a 5 stars hotel. First they told us that they will upgrade our room to a bigger room, but they forget to tell us that the Room will be next door to noisy construction work in other room. Since the first day the maintenance service was not as it supposed to […] be in such an Hotel, for example although asking from the front desk at list 6 times we were waiting to get show polish sponge and spoons for more then 2 days. Although asking to clean the room – in some cases we had to remind the front desk that we did not received this service. Our messages to the “duty Manager” and our request to talk with him were never answered. At the end of the day this hotel is busy in being “cool” instead of in providing good service – in this price and in this area you can find better options Læs mere
