"Very good, good and so-so..."

Good hotel within walking distance of the zócalo and many sights in central Mexico City. Breakfast is very good in fact, and I especially liked the option of three coffee variations - decaf (who on earth…), normal and stroong - as I prefer it. One of the few places on earth, where this is an actual standard option.
Design is a bit off, since the sink is in the room, and not part of the bath room. As in many other hotels, the lighting is not optimal, and if you need to trim the odd hair (women AND men, but different places ;-), you have a distance problem to the mirror. Good hotels supply a small, separate and movable mirror, that ease things a bit.
The shower was not my cup of tea. I hate the kind of fixed shower heads, where you have to make a hand stand, if you want to rinse the lower part of your body.
There was no minibar in the room. Not even a fridge. Since the beverages supplied in the lobby at double the price of the nearest OXXO or similar are at best semicold, this can be a problem.
In my opinion the best hotels have a fridge, which may be filled with a beer or two and a couple of bottles of mineral water, for arriving guests. After that, the guest can ask for refill, or organize content to own taste. I do not object to a well-equiped mini-bar, but understand the issues involved.
Beds were on the ”wobbly” side. Beware: Intense coughing, may cause seasickness.
